Once again family lore of your past isn't worth the paper it wasn't written on. About thirty years ago, my oldest Aunt, researched my mothers side of our family tree. Her study showed pretty much what my grandfather had said all along. Mostly European, with a heavy dose of American Indian, and African. Pretty much what you would expect from a long time South Alabama family

My fathers side of the family was supposed to be Dutch and heavy American Indian.

I did the DNA research thing, and I am 99.2 % European 0.1 % Asian/American Indian, 0.1% Spanish, 0.1 % Sub Saharan African 0.5 % undetermined (I suspect dog of some sort).

The American Indian and African parts are from before the 1750's, almost all of the European is from after 1740. A very short period of mingling.

I guess all of the American Indian was just wishful thinking on someones part.

 

I did hear that the American Native Indians were a good wildly savage fuck....

BigSuzyB is very correct. My tribe requires a paper trail back to someone listed on the Dawes Roll. In I believe 1908 the Secretary of the Interior named Dawes had people to all areas of heavy native american inhabitants. My great-great grandmother was married to a white doctor. She listed all her children male and female and their ages. In order to be enrolled as a tribe member you have to show your relationship to that person listed on the Dawes Roll. If you can't then you don't get you card. The senator can claim who wants to be it don't matter,

 

So you have 99.2% european
plus .1 +.1 + .1 of fence jumpers
plus .5 of dog or neanderthal , or something ,
so , your are possibly/probably basically 100% European.

Surely at .1 percentages , and a total of .3% determined , the fence jumpers must have been a long long time ago.
1 generation 50% , 2g = 25% ,
3g = 12.5% , 4g = 6.25% , 7g = 3.125% ,
8g = 1.5625% , 9g = .78625% ,
so by 10 generations you get down to
.393125 of a % of the fence jumper,

So about say 12 generations ago one of your spanish/dog ancestors fucked an Asian or American Indian ,
another fucked an African slave ,
and since then they've only been fucking Europeans.

But I'm puzzled , how you get 99.5% European and .1% Spanish.
Surely that is 99.6% European ?


European seems rather indeterminate anyway nowadays.
They usually come up with divisions like , Nordic , Germanic , Irish , Caledonian , Celtic , Viking , Saxon , et al ,
and there have been two profiles I've seen on a local series , where they did actually record Neanderthal as being in their DNA. (I remember the last of those traced back to a particular cave in southwest England .
and i think the previous , to one in Spain)

By my crude deductions , it is obvious I am no expert , and very far from , but it is a fascinating subject , and I can't help but wonder if your analyst was a little behind the times .
with a simple 99.5 European analysis ,
or was it done quite a number of years ago.
