if you like to fish where do you fish and what do you catch

 

Oh yes. Hooking an animal through the face is just my idea of a good day out

 

I like to go saltwater fishing whether it's deep sea or not. It's so much fun. I like to go before 5am. I tend to catch lots of king fish and flounder. The beach police forced me to throw back some of my fish because I caught too many! It's not my fault that I have all of the good bait!!

Sometimes I go freshwater but there's just mostly catfish, eels and sunfish around here.

 

No, I find it boring, sitting for hours on end watching a float and at the end of the day your catch is no bigger than what you get at the chippy.

It is easier to fish with explosives.

 

Living in the pacific northwest I have a fisherman (or woman's) paradise and I take advantage of it as much as I possibly can

I am a fishing fool. Saltwater, or fresh. I don't do much bottom fishing in warm water, and I stay well away from catfish, and bass. Cold water bottom fishing, and trolling, warm water trolling, flyfishing and bow fishing.
Can't get enough

 

Fishing is just an excuse to get drunk, lol.

Fly fishing in the Kispiox in Alaska is always a blast. We take horses into the area and set up a fully functional camp complete with cooks and Salmon fish there. It's always fun to fish with a bunch of hungry bears standing all around you and there are times where you have to cut your line when a bear grabs your catch ... and looks at you with that "I dare you" look.

depending on the type of fishing, drunkeness is in fact a side effect, along with breakfast beers, and poor decision making! Catching fish is about as much fun as you can have in my opinion! Anyone here ever harpoon a free-swimming fish?

 

Bears? I'm sure a compromise formula can be worked out eh jpt?

 

That reminds me of that poor overweight tourist that got harpooned by a whaling trawler once. It was either a German ship or German tourist, can't remember which.

 

Yup, the compromise is that if you give the bear the fish ... you won't get eaten by the bear.

We are talking 20-30 pound Salmon so that's a meal in itself even for a bear.

 

Here is a birds eye view of what I'm talking about and these critters are all along the BC/Alaska coast.

 

Never heard about that, must have been out fishing. I was referring to fish and not whales. Whether by harpoon, free gaff, or any other method that does not involve a hook and line, or a net.

 

Fished when I was younger, we'd go up to Corpus and fish bob hall pier.
we'd catch sand sharks, salt water catfish, and some time a drum, or
tuna. Haven't been fishing in awhile though.

There are lots of fishermen on here. They are constantly trolling........

 

I like to fish for blue catfish in the Mississippi river. I fish at the confluence of the Mississippi and Missouri rivers (Lewis & Clark). Sometimes below dam #27, (Chain of Rocks Dam)the last dam on the Mississippi.

The Mississippi river is over a mile wide around here.

 

I LOVE fishing. LOVE it. I like jackfish, thier fun to catch and good eating but I catch everything depending on where I am. Grayling, Rainbow trout, whitefish, Walleye, Dolly Varden, Bull trout, Goldeye, Innuk, I've even caught something we didn't know we had in our rivers, I had to bring it in to our wildlife inspectors to identify it, A sculpin, a land trapped relative of the lion fish, but it's a whole lot uglier. I fish in the Peace river, the Pine, and some river and lakes that I've never known the names of in the Yukon and Northwest territories. I've ocean fished as well, Salmon and halibut, rock cod and lingcod around Vancouver. I did catch a shark once...but it was itty bitty. Maybe a foot long, a Dog shark, I think.
I can't wait to try Bass fishing in Indiana.
Btw, how can fishing possibly be boring when you're in places like this?

 

Ya, I've had that happen, they just grab it right out of water. It's...interesting.
