Government agencies are not in direct competition with other organizations. Nevertheless, when their productivity declines due to affirmative action policies, white people have one more reason to lose confidence in the government.

Private businesses are in competition with other private businesses. They often pay lip service to affirmative action and to attracting a diverse work force. Nevertheless, they know that if they do not hire the most intelligent job applicants, their competitors will. That is why private businesses rarely place blacks in positions that require intelligence.

The few blacks they do place in those positions usually deserve it. Racial differences in intelligence overlap, but average differences are significant. This is obvious to anyone with the courage to look.

It is almost amusing when a prestigious corporation like Facebook says, "Oh my goodness! We don't have enough diversity! We are doing everything possible to attract blacks."

They are doing everything possible but lowering standards. That is why they have few blacks, and why they have been able to earn their prestige.
