I used to think that Trump personified each of the seven deadly sins but sloth. Now he seems to be getting slothful as well.

 

If only you were one-hundredth of the worker President Trump is and has been his entire life you would be in so much better health, physically as well as mentally. It really is a shame you are wasting your life away. You should really reflect on your current situation.

 

What happened to work ethic -
In my opinion there are 2 reasons - firstly in this country it's often easier to sit at home and collect government handouts, go to a food bank etc rather than have to get out of bed on a cold day and go to work.
We have a situation where people from other countries (like in Eastern Europe) where the governments just about keep you alive and no more, are then coming here to work because for them it's better than life in their own country. I believe you might have a similar situation over there, but don't have enough facts to comment.

The other reason for a lack of work ethic is not often mentioned - since the 1960's or 1970's there have been loads of television programmes produced, but very few of them show people working hard, and it's my belief that people who grow up watching wall to wall television are being brainwashed into thinking they can survive and have fun without hard work.

I'm not familiar with all your tv shows but used to watch Friends (I know it wasn't aimed at children but teenagers watched it here), and all I can remember is half the action took place in a café, they all had fun, bought new clothes, ate nice food etc....... but when did you actually see them work hard ?

Take these random examples from this week's real schedule:

• On Tuesday, Trump has his first meeting of the day with Chief of Staff John Kelly at 11am. He then has "Executive Time" for an hour followed by an hour lunch in the private dining room. Then it's another 1 hour 15 minutes of "Executive Time" followed by a 45 minute meeting with National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster. Then another 15 minutes of "Executive Time" before Trump takes his last meeting of the day — a 3:45pm meeting with the head of Presidential Personnel Johnny DeStefano — before ending his official day at 4:15pm.
• Other days are fairly similar, unless the president is traveling, in which case the days run longer. On Wednesday this week, for example, the president meets at 11am for his intelligence briefing, then has "Executive Time" until a 2pm meeting with the Norwegian Prime Minister. His last official duty: a video recording with Hope Hicks at 4pm.
• On Thursday, the president has an especially light schedule: "Policy Time" at 11am, then "Executive Time" at 12pm, then lunch for an hour, then more "Executive Time" from 1:30pm.
