As I said, I’ve come to a happy place on this one. I will, however, continue to read what you’ve got for me, after all, I did ask for it. If you have any advice, rebuttals, or personal anecdotes that you believe apply, perhaps read what my actual concern was about rather than the abbreviated counter stances that other people thought it was about. Many of these rebuttals (not all) sound like people read the title and breezed through first post (especially since a few people hating me were actaully argueing for me) and others used these interpretations as the cliff notes. Thanks.

This is happy spot that I have reached since this thread began:

As per KM, I was incorrect in assigning all blame to those who aggressively try to squelch a thread. In fact those who are unwilling to assert themselves in spite of disapproval carry much of the blame. The nature of this beast is cutthroat; many times that is required to achieve truth and honesty. It’s not my place to try and stand in for those too weak to stand up for themselves, and it’s simply not practical. I realize that some of the best ideas and discussions on this forum are brought about through conflict and disagreement, those unwilling to fight the good fight are the ones who forsake their voice, not the one’s who attack them.

 

You know, when I first got here, nobody demanded respect. Everybody was quite awesome. With the exception of Baller, that asshole (Jay kay). With 10,000 posts. :O :O

As far as noobies go, well, I'm probably a noobie. However, as Trumpet said, oldies don't mind. They do, however, mind it when somebody is begging for attention such as this. I realize that I don't make much of a point here. I haven't been a talk of the forum. And it's okay. After all, it is just the internet. Can't we all just get along? Now--Where's Pericles, so I can tell him how rude he is?

 

there's a thread like this on every forum ive ever visited..

from a sociological stand point.. this mentality makes sense.. it denotes very basic human tribal instincts.. the elder of the tribe is usually reguarded as the leader or respected as a knowledgable person amongst the younger tribal members.. the shaman or the cheif..

now.. grounding that concept in the reality of what we're talking about.. its actually kind of sad..

i like the forums.. dont get me wrong.. i come here often.. read a LOT of what people post and the picture section.. well.. can be interesting sometimes.. but the mentality that veterans given any more respect or even demand it from other members is silly.. completely silly.. its a message board.. on a pornographic site of all things.. lets not loose our focus here..

its a message board.. a fun environment no doubt.. but nothing more than that.. the XNXX forum is not going to change the world.. nor is your life going to be horribley disfigured if XNXX bit the big one..

in short.. while i understand the mentality.. i think its a dumb mentality to have.. especially on a message board.. i treat everyone the same.. those i like more than others i treat a little differently.. those i like less than others i treat a little differently as well.. but i only give the respect people want when those who want it earn it from me.. haveing a high post count is not a good start and having a low one does not hinder you.. and i dont expect any different from anyone else..

new or old.. youre all the same.. and as far as im concerned i will treat all of you the way i want to be treated..
