Cutting through the first and last part of the chapter...this happened in Olongapo, Philippines.

Eventually Chuchi returned I’d guess a few hours later, and as would become the habit for the days to come, he’d toss us each what (Senora) Mei had told him to select. Cooler then other parts of the building being air conditioned, they were also much brighter then this bar, more so having bright colored lights and so on. From the loud music it was obvious that they also had their own sound systems or bands maybe, here in this little hole there was just a radio or some such, and some nights they’d crank it up to a point it was obviously more then the speaker could take. Finally I had noticed that I never saw a naked or even topless female in the other bars, and if they were having sex didn’t do so in open view.

As Chuchi showed me around he also explained the rules yet also what each area was for specifically.
