The problem is that much of our power grid is in the same condition as our roads and bridges.

 

Most of the problems with our power grid is the people who are supposed to be working on our power grid.
Most don't know what a mega watt is or how to start and stop a turbine.

 

Maybe it's because all the young people are living at home, and not training for electrical work. So San Francisco can't get any qualified help. All the illegal immigrants are the ones that couldn't get a job in their own country, so who you gonna call? The old guys? They are all retired...

 

I was a power plant operator. We had a very hard time finding anyone to fill the jobs we had.
Most were great at music appreciation and knew a lot about art, and could even make a pretty basket.
That didn't help when we had an outage and they were afraid of the dark.

 

Reports are that LA, San Francisco and New York had simultaneous power failures today. San Francisco attributed it to a sub station fire, New York said an equipment failure and Los Angeles said heavy rains.

It could be that 3 major metropolitan areas could suffer a major power failure simultaneously, but Shooter is suspicious. He suspects skullduggery on the part of nefarious foreign scoundrels.

 

We always had our stack of excuse for anything that went wrong.
None of them were true but the public didn't know any better.
The majority didn't even know what a power plant was.

One quick story. When I was working at one power plant my parents lived close so I would drop by and visit often.
My father told the neighbors that every time I came by I would leave a big box of electricity for him so his electric bill would be low.
Many people were pissed at me for not bringing them a box of electricity.

 

Maybe they ran out of coal since that is what everyone uses

How ever will they survive without their wifi and power to their espresso machines ?
Our IT guy mentioned this story and added that countless people were seen just staring at their cellphones with blank looks on their faces . It appears there was a sub or relay station fire but it is unclear if the fire was the result or the cause .

My grapes are just starting to show life, I was out there yesterday admiring them, the white grapes are not thriving so much, I'll have to go to TSC and get another vine or 2.

 

Tractor Supply has a lot of useful stuff, but they are like Harbor Freight Tools, too many inferior Chinese products. I really don't understand China, we know they have the capability to build good products so why continue manufacturing shoddy goods?
