My problem is it only gets half hard. The dr. wrote me up for Viagra and for Levitra and it dont do much more. Now i am using at his orders a daily application of adrogel apploed to upper arms and shoulders. I am now getting arounsed and always rhinking of erotic sex. You have been diagnosed with hypogonadism and yes this very well could be the reason you only get half hard. Low testosterone is very underdiagnosed and can lead to erection problems, depression, weight gain, loss of muscle mass, loss of interest, etc.

Your Dr probably has you on 5 grams of gel which is one pump from the dispenser to the shoulder and another pump to the other side. He may increase you to 10 grams daily as this has to be done regurlary to get the desired T levels.

It also depends on what your T levels were when you were not having the problem as they vary a lot between individuals. Some Drs treat when the Free Testosterone levels drop below 250 and others will treat once they drop below 400. Some feel that if you are over 400 then you are OK but again it is really relative to where you were when you felt normal. If your levels were around 600 and now they are only 400 then you are not going to feel right although your Dr may say that the levels are normal. The main thing is to let him know you still do not feel normal and ask him if he can try to increase it.

You also want to get him to check your Estradol, (estrogen). If it is over 40 (i think) you need to be on testosterone even if your levels are normal. Reason is that the estrogen and testosterone are competing for the same receptor sites in the body and the estrogen is winning. Therefore the T has no sites to bind too and you get the results you are talking about.
