Democrat Warns That ‘Deep State’ Seeks To Undermine Trump For Its Own Ends

The goal of the internal attacks on President Donald Trump that manifest themselves as leaks is not to alter policy, but to subvert the president, former Rep. Dennis Kucinich, D-Ohio, said Wednesday on Hannity.

Kucinich said the actions of the “deep state” — a so-called group of influential government employees trying to manipulate government policy — have the Trump administration “under attack from within.”

Trump’s internal threats result from agencies with their own agendas, said Kucinich, who ran for the White House in 2004 and 2008.




“Well, you have a politicization of the agencies. That is resulting in leaks from anonymous, unknown people and the intention is to take down a president,” Kucinich said.

“This is very dangerous to America. It is a threat to our republic. It constitutes a clear and present danger to our way of life,” he added.

Although the daily deluge of leaks has many asking whether the material is true, Kucinich said the American people should be asking other questions.

“We have to be asking: What is the motive of these people? Who’s putting these leaks out? Why isn’t somebody coming forward to make that charge and put their name and their reputation behind it instead of attacking through the media and not substantiating their position?” he asked.

Kucinich said t was time to set party politics aside, because “our first allegiance is to our country.”

“This isn’t about one president, this is about the political process of the United States of America being under attack by intelligence agencies and individuals in those agencies, yes, as you said there might be good people in there, but there are certain individuals who are lifers who want to be able to direct the policy of the country,” Kucinich told host Sean Hannity.

Kucinich was emphatic that the deep state has no partisan preferences.




“And if the president stands in their way whether it’s a Democrat or Republican, they’ll just try to run that person out,” he said. “We’ve got to protect our nation here. People have to be aware of what’s going on. We’ve got to stand up for America. This isn’t about Democrat, Republican. This is about getting what’s going on in the moment and understanding that our country itself is under attack from within.”

Hannity has said that in addition to deep state efforts to undercut Trump, the president faces an alliance between that element and the “destroy-Trump propaganda media” that pushes “tin-foil hat conspiracy theories” revolving alleged Russian collusion.

 

Trump needs to double down and and really push his agenda. If the populace doesn't agree he won't be reelected, if they do all the opposition can be voted out. The establishment, both left and right see their control of the system slipping. Smoke screen to cover their own indiscretions is all they have.

Trump doesn't need the Deep State. He undermines himself quite effectively.

 

It is very hard to catch the people leaking information when many of the stories by the news media are not even leaks. They are dreams of someone with an over active imagination. The leaks do not even have to make sense. Just a few days ago some news media broke a story that was given to them by a anonymos source over the telephone reading a hand written note supposedly made by another person. This would be sort of funny if it wasn't so sad.
Sort of like telling people I know it was the truth because a friend of my sister in law's neighbor overheard a man on the street telling another man.
