REVEALED: Paul Manafort’s shadowy Cyprus bank transactions under investigation by US Treasury

The U.S. Treasury Department is probing the offshore financial transactions of former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort as part of a federal anti-corruption probe into his work in Ukraine.

Information related to the transactions was turned over earlier this year to the department’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network by investigators in Cyprus, reported The Associated Press.

A source familiar with the case told the AP that the Treasury Department requested the documents, and the Cyprus attorney general was made aware of the U.S. request.

Federal prosecutors began looking into Manafort’s paid work for the pro-Russian Party of Regions as part of a broader investigation into stolen Ukrainian assets after the nation’s Vladimir Putin-aligned President Viktor Yanukovych was ousted in 2014.

The AP reported earlier this week that Manafort secretly developed a plan to advance Putin’s interests in the U.S. in 2005, a year before he moved into Trump Tower.

Manafort quit the Trump campaign in September as questions began to swirl about his work in Ukraine, and his ties to the Putin regime have raised new questions as the FBI investigates possible collusion between President Donald Trump’s campaign and the Russian government.

Financial records obtained by the AP show Manafort sometimes routed financial transactions through Cypriot shell companies, including a $19 million deal in 2014 with Russian billionaire Oleg Deripaska to buy Ukrainian cable television provider Black Sea Cable.

Deripaska, a Russian aluminum magnate and close ally of Putin, said afterward that Manafort and his associates refused to tell him how the money had been used.

Manafort pitched a “confidential plan” in 2005 to Deripasko to promote Russian interests through U.S. media, and the AP reported that he signed a $10 million annual contract with the oligarch — with whom he maintained a business relationship until “at least” 2009.

The Republican political strategist also reportedly tried to help Deripaska obtain a U.S. visa in 2000 over objections by the FBI, which believed the billionaire had lied to agents during an interview.

The AP found in another case that a Manafort-linked company received $1 million in October 2009 from mysterious firm through the Bank of Cyprus, which Trump’s Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross oversaw as vice chairman from 2014 until his Senate confirmation.

The White House was accused of withholding information from Congress about whether Trump or his campaign affiliates had ever received loans through the bank, which is partially owned by Viktor Vekselberg and Vladimir Strzhalkovsky — two longtime Putin allies.

Ross verbally denied any knowledge of such transactions, but the White House refused to release a written response to a query from Democratic senators.

The AP reported that Manafort’s mysterious transaction more than seven years ago was split in half the same day the payment went through the Bank of Cyprus and were disbursed in two payments of $500,000 to accounts with no obvious owner.

Cyprus had a well-known history of money laundering before joining the European Union in 2004.

A Ukrainian lawmaker released other financial documents earlier this week from the Party of Regions’ so-called “black ledger” that show Manafort laundered those payments using offshore accounts in Belize and Kyrgyzstan.

Serhiy Leshchenko, a Ukrainian lawmaker and investigative journalist, released a copy of an invoice on Manafort’s consulting company letterhead that shows a payment of $750,000 for the sale of computers to a Belize-based company.

On that same day, Oct. 14, 2009, Manfort’s name is listed in a $750,000 entry in the black ledger, which was found at party headquarters during the 2014 riots, that investigators view as a party slush fund.

Manafort, who is wanted for questioning in Ukraine, accused Leshchenko of attempting to blackmail him before he stepped down from the Trump campaign.

New evidence suggests Trump associates may have coordinated with Russians against Clinton campaign: CNN

U.S. officials have information that suggests associates of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign communicated with Russian operatives in a coordinated effort to release damning info on Hillary Clinton, CNN reports.

The FBI is currently reviewing the information, which was partially referenced by FBI Director James Comey on Monday, when he testified before Congress that the Bureau is investigating “a credible allegation of wrongdoing or reasonable basis to believe an American may be acting as an agent of a foreign power.”

Paul Manafort’s Russia-connected deputy still visiting White House for meetings on Trump agenda

White House officials are trying to distance themselves from former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, whose financial ties to Russia are being probed by federal investigators, but his longtime associate remains active in the president’s operations.

Press Secretary Sean Spicer declined Wednesday to discuss revelations that Manafort been paid to promote Russian interests 12 years ago in the U.S., saying it would be “inappropriate” to comment on someone who wasn’t a White House employee — but his former deputy Rick Gates was there just last week for a meeting with the president, reported the Washington Post.

Gates, who also worked with the same Russian oligarch who reportedly paid Manafort $10 million to promote Russian interests, leads the outside group America First Policies to push Trump’s agenda.

America First Policies was announced Jan. 31, and Kellyanne Conway promoted its importance, but little work has been done besides an initial press release and some social media activity after reporters began poking around its operations.

He started working with Manafort in 2006, a year after the Republican strategist struck a deal with Oleg Deripaska, an aluminum magnate and Vladimir Putin ally.

Gates told the Post that he also worked with Deripaska, who has been denied entry to the U.S. over his alleged ties to organized crime, to support a private equity fund started by Manafort’s firm and “democracy building and party building in Ukraine.”

He also took part in at least two other recent deals involving Putin-connected oligarchs, including one that ended with Deripaska suing both Gates and Manafort.

The firm pitched Deripaska on a $200 million private equity partnership focused on Russia and Ukraine, and the arrangement was set up in 2007 in the Cayman Islands, but the relationship had disintegrated by 2014, when Deripaska sued Manafort and Gates over $19 million in unaccounted funds intended for the purchase of a Ukrainian cable provider.

The pair eventually stopped answering Deripaska’s requests to show how the money had been used or return it to the investor, according to the lawsuit.

“It appears that Paul Manafort and Rick Gates have simply disappeared,” claimed the lawsuit, which a Deripaska spokeswoman said might still be pending.

Manafort and Gates were also named in a 2014 racketeering lawsuit involving Ukrainian oligarch named Dmitry Firtash, who also has ties to Putin.

That suit, which was later dismissed, claimed Manafort and Gates helped Firtash launder ill-gotten gains as part of an $850 million deal to build luxury housing at the site of the Drake Hotel in New York City.

Firtash was indicted with five others in 2013 with paying $18.5 million in bribes to Indian officials so they could mine titanium and sell it to Boeing Corporation to build the 787 Dreamliner jet, and he’s currently fighting extradition to the U.S.

Manafort and Gates promoted the pro-Russian Party of Regions on behalf of then-Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, and introduced the pro-Yanukovych European Center for a Modern Ukraine to the lobbying firms Mercury LLC and the Podesta Group.

Both of those Washington-based lobbying firms hired outside investigators to determine whether they’d been misled by Gates.

Gates was named the Trump campaign’s liaison to the Republican National Committee just hours after Manafort quit his unpaid chairmanship in August over his alleged financial ties to Russia.

He left that role, in which he maintained offices at both the RNC and Trump Tower, two weeks later after former Citizens United head David Bossie — who is putting together a potential rival group to America First Policies — was named deputy campaign manager.

Gates was blamed by campaign sources for Melania Trump’s RNC speech that included a plagiarized portion of a speech given by former first lady Michelle Obama, although he denies the claims.

The former ethics lawyer for George W. Bush believes the FBI investigation into the Trump campaign’s alleged ties to Russia has uncovered evidence of treason.

Richard Painter, who joined a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of President Donald Trump’s foreign business ties, tweeted a link late Wednesday to a McClatchy report on a federal investigation into whether U.S. right-wing websites coordinated with Russian operatives to attack Hillary Clinton.

“(The) FBI uncovering evidence of treason,” Painter said. “There is no other word for it.”

The Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee are renewing their demands to call Christopher Steele, the former British spy who compiled the dossier on Trump as a witness. And while the Republicans previously said no to calking him as a witness thanks to the just plain stupid stunt Nunes pulled yesterday the Democrats on the committee now have a lot more leverage.

And that is even more true since more and more details in that dossier have now been proven true.

Ok seeing as its been well over a year since I posted any thing on this site I thought i would jump back on a topic i can actually contribute to rather then just make my normal of the cuff sarcastic jokes. Now let me remind every one I do not identify with any political party I think there all crap and this crap is the best we can do.

That being said I have to say when you look at all the information from the Vault 7 leaks when you look at the fact that the CIA has according to the vault 7 leaks backdoors into Cisco routers servers and switches when you look at the stolen laptop from a secret service agent at trump towers that was clearly a bullshit story. When you look at the fact that a secret service agent was taking pictures of the presidents grandson when he was sleeping ("Can any one say creepy"). What am i getting at well also from the vault 7 leaks we find information on CIA tactics for cyber war fair one of witch is to make source code look like it was written by Russian hackers and that the CIA has compromised 187 different Cisco devices including router switches and hole servers

("This remains to be seen if Cisco knew about the backdoors built into there machine code or not but seeing as only Cisco was on the list im guessing they knew about it and helped the CIA")

Now I have no clue how Hillary Clintons email servers where set up but from what i hear they where not top of the line servers so im guessing the routers used on her internet probably came from Cisco i don't know that for sure but its a safe bet and its also a safe bet her hardware was on the list of devices to have backdoors on it from the CIA. So yes I think the DNC hacks the Clintons hacks all these hacks where by the CIA thats my guess based of the evidence just more false flag attacks that make other people and parts of the government look bad and who do they turn to the clean up the mess why its the CIA and i am dam sure that's going to look good for the CIA at the next budge meeting.

He said yes It was just as organized but it was very loud louder then they ever have been in the past. Dose he mean he could hear a Russian hacker pounding on his keyboard all the way in Russian nooo of course not. What he is saying is they wanted there code to be found it was to easy to find they wanted every thing to be discovered.

If Russia did it they would have been more quite and it would have taken more time to find any clues.

Mike Flynn secretly met Turkish officials to plan illegal ‘dead of night’ extradition of fugitive cleric

Former CIA Director James Woolsey said that he attended a secret meeting in September with ousted Trump national security adviser Adm. Mike Flynn to plan a covert operation to “whisk away” a fugitive cleric and hand him over to Turkey’s authoritarian government.

The Wall Street Journal reported Friday that Woolsey and other people present at the meeting confirmed that Flynn was coordinating with officials from the cabinet of right-wing Turkish Pres. Recep Tayyip Erdogan in anticipation of extraditing Fethullah Gulen back to Turkey should Trump win the presidency.

The “dead of night” operation was intended to circumvent normal U.S. extradition laws, Woolsey said. The meeting took place on Sep. 19, and Woolsey said he arrived late only to be startled and alarmed that the discussion was treading into potentially illegal territory.

The plan, according to Woolsey, was “a covert step in the dead of night to whisk this guy away.” Gulen is wanted in Turkey for allegedly aiding last summer’s failed military coup against the Erdogan regime.

“It isn’t known who raised the idea or what Mr. Flynn concluded about it,” said the Journal.

Flynn was forced to step down from Trump’s cabinet when it came to light that he lied to Vice President Mike Pence and the public about his communications with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak.

‘I sense panic at the White House’: Journalist Louise Mensch explains how the Russia-Trump probe is coming to a head

On Friday’s episode of “Real Time with Bill Maher,” English author and independent journalist Louise Mensch appeared to discuss her work investigating Donald Trump’s ties to Russia.

Her first order of business as the investigation progresses, she said, is to get Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) off of the intelligence committee, because he obviously cannot be trusted. She said that the Democrats on the committee are doing a decent enough job but have yet to call out Nunes and say “he’s got to go.”

“You’ve got to say, ‘He’s got to go now!’ I don’t care if he’s your mate. I don’t care if he’s your buddy. He’s got to go,” she said.

American horror author and screenwriter Max Brooks wants to see liberals and Democrats “get our FDR balls back” and suit up for a fight against the GOP.

Mensch argued that going after Nunes would bring the fight to the GOP and force them to be tied to Trump, who may very well be engaged in treason.

She went on to say that she thinks “we are a lot further down the line to the end of this than most people think” in the Russia investigation. “I sense panic at the White House. I sense an absolute whiff of panic.”

Maher noted that the White House is collectively sweating like whores in churches. He confessed that he has deep concerns of FBI Director James Comey and his inability to control the FBI.

Mensch said cited a Justice Department investigation that looks into the FBI agents in New York leaking to Gen. Michael Flynn, former Mayor Rudy Giuliani and the NYPD, who was leaking to Eric Prince, brother of Betsy DeVoss. She went on to say that no one is talking about the investigation into it.

Maher was concerned that Attorney General Jeff Sessions is heading the Justice Department but Mensch said that these leaks are part of the Russia problem and Sessions must recuse himself from all of that.

“There are two sides to the FBI,” she continued. “There are the criminal field office divisions that we’re talking about and there’s the counterintelligence division. They issued the FISA warrant as I reported, and James Comey is taking it very seriously.”

Maher speculated on Comey but Mensch said that she does consider him an upstanding person and believes he will do the right thing.

Now we often hear the phrase "follow the money" as a way of determining political corruption. But the FBI has a totally different definition of "follow the money." The FBI follows the money as a way of determining criminal activity. And it is now being reported the Bank of Cyprus has agreed to turn over the banking records of Mike Flynn to the FBI. And while that could be serious enough it also ensnares Trump's Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross who served as vice-chairman of the Bank of Cyprus.

And as much as I didn't like it Donald J Trump was going to be our president. And that was just the simple reality I had to accept.

CNN analyst: Sources say Mike Flynn may have turned on Trump and become a witness for the FBI

As of Saturday evening, rumors are swirling that Pres. Donald Trump’s ousted national security adviser Mike Flynn has cut a deal with the FBI and is now informing on his old boss, the president.

CNN national security analyst Juliette Kayyem discussed the possibility in a panel discussion on Friday night when she said that former Trump foreign policy consultant Carter Page, ex-campaign manager Paul Manafort and longtime Trump ally Roger Stone will all testify before the House Intelligence Committee regarding their ties to Russia.

“It’s not that interesting to me because I don’t think they’ll be under oath,” Kayyem said. “The one name not mentioned is a name I mention often on this show: Mike Flynn, the former national security adviser.”

“It is starting to look like — from my sources and from open reporting — that Mike Flynn is the one who may have a deal with the FBI and that’s why we have not heard from him for some time,” she said.

Flynn, a retired U.S. Army Lieutenant General, was forced to step down from the Trump administration when it came to light that he lied to Vice President Mike Pence and the public about his contacts with Russian Ambassador and former FSB spy recruiter Sergey Kislyak.

This week, retired CIA Director James Woolsey said that he sat in on a secret meeting with Flynn and officials from Turkey’s authoritarian Erdogan regime in which Flynn entertained the idea of illegally sidestepping U.S. diplomatic protocols to return a fugitive Muslim cleric to Turkey. Woolsey describe the proposed operation as a “dead of night” mission to “whisk away” Fethullah Gulen and return him to Erdogan’s far-right government.
