  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

I have read about Tim Horton on this forum several times, and some have described as the Canuckistanian equal of Americas' McDonalds. Welllllll, one opened about thirty miles from home and while the wife and I were in the area we decided to try it out.

First they do not sell burgers or fries, big let down. The place was like a glorified Duncan Donuts, that sells some weird sandwiches. This is not to say the food was bad, rather I fail to get the McDonald's comparison. The wife asked for a smoothie and got some kind of a coffee flavored weird shake. I had a fajita steak wrap, and it tasted fine, but the chili was bland beyond belief.

    Lesson learned, avoid Tim Horton.

I have never, repeat NEVER, heard Tim Horton's referred to as 'like McDonald's'. If someone---anyone---told you that, if they were not already in a mental ward they should be in one.

Tim Horton's was/is a coffee-and-donut shop. Similarly to Dunkin' Donuts in the U.S., it expanded in recent years to include things like bagels and croissants and breakfast sandwiches. Admittedly, I have not been to a Tim Horton's in about a year and a half, but I am surprised they offered a fajita steak wrap.

    Coffee-and-donuts. Tim Horton's.

Went to Timmy Ho's when we were in the Niagara Falls area. They never claimed to be a McDonald's. Very good value for the money.

The reason why you might have heard that is because the "American" company, Burger King, bought them, then they used a loophole in our laws to move their corporate headquarters out of this country.

They're just owned by a McDonald's like company.

Before that they had merged with Wendy's but it didn't allow them the growth that they had hoped for so they cancelled the deal & moved back to The Dominion.
Tim Horton's was a donut shop that sold coffee and then became a coffee shop that sold donuts.

I think the McDonald's comparison came about from Burger King buying Tim Horton's a few years ago. I have never been in a Tim Horton's but when I have been to Canada, the restaurants reminded me of a cross between Dunkin' Donuts and Starbucks.

edit: @anon_de_plume beat me to it. :(

Actually I think that might be the crash that took Tim Horton's life.

First lesson you should never believe most of what you read here from these idiots and I thought you were smarter then that. Most of these assholes don't know their head from their asshole.

There are enough burger and fries places why would any place need another one. The food is bad at Timmies and I would not recommend eating it. If one is really stuck and no where else to go then your best bet is to stick with just a plain coffee and bagel otherwise the rest is just processed fast food or what they try and call food but is really just a chemical shit storm and you Americans of all people know what that is.

I don't think Timmies was intended to be a restaurant, it is where working folks stop and have coffee on their breaks and/or way to work and groups can stop and get a drink after events or meetings then there are the seniors who meet in the afternoons, summer is nice to stop for an ice cream. You can send the kids cheap but it seems predominately everyone is walking around in zombie mode, eyes glazed with coffee cup in hand. They won't miss your business if you don't go back as there is always a line up going out side the door and the drive thru's are most always packed.

It's a fucking coffee house ... that sells donuts.

Their claim to fame is making a new pot of coffee every 20 minutes or sooner. You never get stale coffee like you do everywhere else.

Not bad for a Canadian hockey player that started what is now the largest chain in Canada and has outlets in 9 countries ...

If the quality is sliding blame it on your own country, Burger King is out of Florida, Hortons is still laughing all the way to the bank (11.4 billion) plus we have better beef and chicken here as well as better dairy. Americans are obsessed with putting antibiotics in everything ...

The Tim Horton of Tim Horton's donut shops is THE SAME Tim Horton from the Toronto Maple Leafs?????? WOW!!!!! I had no idea. And I followed the NHL religiously from '65 to '75. No wonder I have been saying to myself that that name seems familiar.

Those Toronto teams with Dick Duff, Terry Sawchuk, Johnny Bower, Dave Keon, Frank Mahovlich seemed to play the Canadiens every year for the Stanley Cup.

Boy, what a person learns on the this forum!

So on a long trip I had a donut craving. Stop at Tim Hortons. I see a row of awesome greasy sugar coated crullers and order 6.
I open the box. WTF? 6 dry crumbling pieces of crap that looked like they'd been scraped off the floor. I go back and ask what the fuck she gave me?
After 6 different staff they found one that spoke English. We have it out. I finally yell at her and say, "just give me the donuts on the shelf".
She says, "No way....those are for display only".
Sort of like the fancy pictures of big juicy hamburgers at McDonalds and A&W. Fuck you Tim Hortons!
Nothing beats a Costco hot dog. Fuck Tim Hortons.
