Yep. There's supposed to be protection built-in, and I'm sure there is. Most software like this has protection from cross-site scripting and other issues. But, like anything else, people are developing new ways to beat a system all the time.

Now think what might happen if all these geniuses banded together to do something good, like solve world hunger, increase the efficiency of combustion engines, etc.

FWIW, if you want to get to the stories section, just click a link in someone's signature, get to the story they wrote, and then you can hope around into the different categories. If you avoid the home page of the Stories site, you should avoid the redirect.

 

1h30 on. Al Queada could have blown up the planet. World War 3 could have started and already ended. Maybe 5 members have died. Has admin done anything about clearing up the situation? I'm surprised that no one else ever misused the Title bar for scripts (till some days ago)

For the unitiated reader you have about 2 to 5 seconds to click on something. If the category contains one of the infected stories you will be redirected. However since Mobile Reader posted his story you have 3 seconds. Clicking on someone's link in the forum will send you to their stories but not let you go back to the tags, so no luck there. It's up to admin to sort this SOB out!

Well damn - I am usually far more careful of my editing before I post looking for typos and here in the space of on sentence there are several. Maybe I just need to go back to bed and when I wake up realize that this has just been a bad dream and all is good with the world.

The sentence should read:

This is weird, i'm trying to go the stories section and it just sends me straight to this thread. Thats good because i now know about this virus, but now i want to go back to the stories site, is anybody else having this problem?

Everyone all over the world is having the same problem and will continue to do so until the admins get off their backsides and remove Mobile Reader's "story" (there to get the point over) and eliminate "myfletch" and his socks from the site. However past experience does not promise much. The much acclaimed "anti-paedo witch-hunt" merely led to highly talented writers leaving the site simply to be replaced by inferior writers churning out the same type of story. Much needs to be done or this will now be a regular occurrence.

having same problem on my phone. not on my lap top. not sure how to fix it.. have not tried my phone to see if it has been resolved but guessing from the posts on here it does not seem like it will be fixed anytime soon. ill just go to stories the long way around and not go to them from here.

Couldn't agree more on the latest crop of stories. It's like the site has been invaded by a pack of crude functional illiterates who don't know how to string 2 consecutive sentences together that even begin to relate to one another, haven't got the first clue about punctuation, spacing, or grammar, and who have never used a spell checker in their all too brief lives. I would be funny were it not so sad.
