‘It’s Readily Apparent’: Chris Christie Drops Long List of Misdeeds When Asked If The Trump Family Is Corrupt
    By Alex GriffingSep 13th, 2023, 11:53 am

Republican presidential candidate Chris Christie took part in a SiriusXM Town Hall at New England College in New Hampshire on Tuesday and was asked flat out whether or not he believes the Trump family is corrupt.

Christie was asked to weigh in on House Republicans officially opening an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden earlier in the day. The former New Jersey governor said he did not believe there was “enough evidence” to impeach Biden at this point, but said the House should use its oversight function to investigate corruption, including “Jared and Ivanka making 40 plus million dollars a year while serving in the White House.”

The moderator Steve Scully followed up and asked, “So are you saying that the Trump family is corrupt?”

“Yes. Sure. I mean, it’s just I mean, it’s it’s readily apparent,” Christie shot back, adding:

I mean, when you pay your your son’s girlfriend 60 grand out of campaign money to give a three-minute speech, you’re using money that people donated to you. And by the way, that money was donated by people who wanted to fund him to fight the stolen election, when they donated that money, they didn’t think 60 grand was going to Kimberly Guilfoyle to give a three-minute speech.

They didn’t think $280,000 was going to Melania’s stylist. Right. So I don’t know what you would call that other than corrupt. And to send Jared Kushner to the Middle East and then having him within six months, and by the way, the 2 billion he got from the Saudis up until five days ago, he didn’t invest in any of that money. He got at six months after they left office in the middle of 2021. We’re down to the third quarter of 2023. That’s two years he hadn’t invested a nickle of the money, but paid himself his management fee out of that money as a percentage of the 2 billion, every quarter, for what? What was he managing? To make sure, pick up the phone and make sure the 2 billion was still there. Okay, great.

“So yeah, that looks like corruption to me,” Christie concluded, referring to Kushner paying himself $25 million a year after from his advisory fund after securing major investments from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE.

......... and when asked about any potential corruption Christie carefully avoided talking about bridges in New Jersey or handing out Federal aid after Hurricane Sandy or Stock trading or deferred prosecutions. Shooter would believe Bill Clinton's advise on the selection of cigars before he'd give a caterpillar fart for anything Christy had to say about his political opponents alleged corruption.

Yeah, but that was just Jersey stuff. Call it 'entitlements' or 'paybacks'.

‘Inevitable they’ll go broke’: The Arizona GOP’s financial situation gets worse

    Jim Small, Arizona Mirror
    September 15, 2023, 12:43 PM ET

    Real America's Voice/screen grab

When Jeff DeWit took the reins of the Arizona Republican Party in January, the party had more than $152,000 in its federal campaign account. Seven months later, the AZGOP has burned through more than 90% of those cash reserves and doesn’t have enough money to pay its bills.
The party’s most recent federal campaign finance report shows just how dire the situation is for Republicans heading into a monumentally important 2024 election year, during which the AZGOP will be overseeing efforts to win the presidency, capture a U.S. Senate seat and maintain control of the Legislature.

At the end of August, the party had just $14,800 left in the bank. During that month, the party spent nearly $89,000 — more than twice the roughly $44,000 in revenues it reported. But the AZGOP only paid about $57,000 of those bills, and took on almost $32,000 in debt.

That is sparking concern for some Republicans, who fear the party is now on an unsustainable path.

“If this keeps up, it’s inevitable they’ll go broke,” said Chris Baker, a Scottsdale-based political consultant whose clients include U.S. Rep. David Schweikert.

A spokeswoman for the Arizona Republican Party did not return a request for comment.

Because of campaign finance laws, the parties must operate separate accounts for money spent to help elect federal candidates and funds used to bolster state and local hopefuls. The federal campaign account is the lifeblood of any political party, and rules require that its funds be used to pay for all party employees. Costs for staff and other administrative functions are often split with the state account, but a bankrupt federal account would mean the AZGOP cannot pay its employees.

The August fundraising figures are dismal for the Arizona Republican Party: It only raised $18,321 in contributions from individuals, and the remaining $26,000 or so in revenues was a transfer from the AZGOP’s state campaign finance account.

The figures are a sharp drop from poor fundraising in July, when the party raised less than $24,000 from individual donors and ended the month with only $28,000 on hand.

Baker noted that there were no large donors to the AZGOP in August, and the largest contribution was $500, which came from a construction executive in Wisconsin.

That the party isn’t even taking in enough money to cover its monthly bills is concerning enough, Baker said, but that’s amplified by the fact that the Arizona Republican Party in June took out a mortgage to purchase an entire floor of a midtown Phoenix office building for its new headquarters.

DeWit won a contested election for chairman of the party when its members chose new leaders in late January. A key component of his campaign was a pledge to “drastically improve fundraising” over his predecessor, Kelli Ward.

DeWit was a top staffer for Donald Trump’s 2016 and 2020 campaigns — he was the chief finance and chief operating officer in 2016, and chief operating officer in 2020 — and he positioned himself as the only candidate who would be able to raise the money the AZGOP would need to be effective in 2024. He boasted that he oversaw “over $1 billion in campaign fundraising” for Trump, which would serve him well helming the state party.

“I want to bring this expertise to Arizona to give us a fundraising, ground game, candidate recruitment, media training, and organizational leadership advantage over the Democrats,” he wrote in one campaign pitch.

Baker said it’s critical for Republicans in Arizona to have a healthy and effective state party, something that it won’t have if DeWit doesn’t turn this fundraising trajectory around quickly.

“If I was Jeff DeWit, my only priority going forward would be to engage in donor outreach and make the case — publicly and privately — that this is a new regime, and we’re going to be laser-focused on electing Republicans,” he said.

Florida GOP gives a victory to Trump over DeSantis by scrapping a proposed primary ballot rule

Florida GOP gives a victory to Trump over DeSantis by scrapping a proposed primary ballot rule

Score one for former President Donald Trump over Florida Gov.

, as the two combatants for 2024 Republican presidential nomination mixed it up in a test of their home turf strength and clout among supporters in the state they both call home.

The Republican Party of Florida's executive board, under pressure from Trump supporters, voted on Friday evening to nix a provision in its bylaws that required any candidate seeking to be on the March 19 presidential primary ballot to sign a pledge of loyalty to the eventual GOP nominee.

The meeting, held at an Orlando, Florida hotel, was described by sources with knowledge of the gathering as contentious.

The pledge was adopted with little fanfare back in May, and DeSantis supporters, including state House Speaker Paul Renner, urged the board members to keep the pledge.

State Sen. Joe Gruters, a former Florida GOP chairman and a top Trump supporter in the Sunshine State, made the motion to drop the pledge, arguing that rules should not have changed in the first place less than a year before the primary.

According to reports, Polk County GOP member Ed Shoemaker warned during the meeting that "people will be pissed if we keep Trump off the ballot."

The vote was not only a show of force for Trump in his adopted home state but is also a sign that DeSantis' once iron grip over the Florida state party may be slipping.

Republicans presidential candidates Gov. Ron DeSantis and former President Donald Trump.
Neither Trump nor DeSantis attended the meeting, as they were both giving speeches in Washington D.C. at the Family Research Council's annual Pray, Vote, Stand conference around the same time the vote was taking place.

DeSantis campaign press secretary Bryan Griffin said in a statement that "anyone who wants to run for president as a Republican should be willing to pledge their support for our eventual nominee."

Trump’s campaign did not immediately release a comment regarding the vote.

The pldege in Florida that was nixed is similar to the one the Republican National Committee is mandating GOP presidential candidates sign in order to make the presidential nomination debate state. Trump refused to sign the RNC's pledge, skipped the first debate, and is likely to not attend the second one as well.

Trump, who's making his third straight White House run, remains the commanding front-runner over DeSantis and the rest of the large field of contenders seeking to be the party's 2024 standard-bearer.

Trump Claims He Beat Obama In New Speech — After Attacking Biden Over ‘Cognitive’ Issues
    By Tommy ChristopherSep 16th, 2023, 2:28 pm
    1265 comments

Former President Donald Trump claimed he beat former President Barack Obama — even though he never ran against Obama — in a speech in which he attacked President Joe Biden’s faculties.

Trump delivered a speech to an enthusiastic conservative crowd at the “Pray, Vote, Stand Summit” in Washington, DC on Friday night, during which he made disparaging remarks about President Biden’s “cognitive” abilities — while repeatedly committing several gaffes or misspeaking.

In one of several moments flagged by Acyn Torabi, Trump appeared to refer to President Obama as a “radical left thug” in a chunk of the speech attacking “weaponized” law enforcement, then bragged “with Obama, we won an election that everyone said couldn’t be won,” then bragged about his win over former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and expressed his distaste for “using names on people doubles”:

As you know, Crooked Joe Biden and the radical left thugs who have weaponized law enforcement to arrest their leading political opponent, leading by a lot, including Obama. I’ll tell you. You take a look at Obama and take a look at some of the things that he’s done. This is the same thing. The country is very divided and we did– With Obama, we won an election that everyone said couldn’t be won.

We beat Hillary Clinton. You know, I used to I used to call her Crooked Hillary. I’d say Crooked Hillary, but I took that name away from her. That was a great day. About two months ago, I said, you know what? Because I don’t like using names on people doubles. I think we have a lot of words out there. So I took now I call her Beautiful Hillary’s a beautiful woman. And rather than Sleepy Joe, we call him Crooked Joe because it’s a very appropriate name.

CNN panelist crushes GOP hope of Nikki Haley beating Trump: 'Polling at 18 percent in her own state!'

Former President Donald Trump, despite his avalanche of legal problems and criminal charges, looks better positioned than ever to win the GOP nomination for president for the third time in a row.

And there is little that Republican rivals like former U.N. Ambassador and South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley can do to change that situation, said a CNN panel on Monday.

"If I were a Nikki Haley, I would pretty much put Iowa aside, which hasn't actually elected a Republican president since 2000," said former Trump White House official Alyssa Farah Griffin. "Focus all your energy on New Hampshire, where it's an open primary where you can turn out independents ... and then South Carolina, where she's a former governor and popular."

POLL: Should Trump be allowed to run for office?

"The problem is, she's polling at 18 percent in her own state, right?" said political analyst Errol Lewis. "And Donald Trump is at like something like 46 percent in her state. With all of the non-Trump candidates, the problem is, you can't find a state that they win before Super Tuesday. And, you know, I mean, it is lovely to talk about the rules that we wish we had, but politics is about the rules that we do have. And in this primary process, Donald Trump has got a sort of a fortress that nobody has demonstrated that they have the ability to—"

"He's a fortress in the Republican Party," cut in reporter John Avlon. "Once the electability argument starts coming in, that's a real problem. You're right about one point. The RNC has not actually done a good job about making sure they have proportional representation to delegates. A lot of these states are winner-take-all. If it's a crowded field, you take all the delegates. That's a problem with a solution that no one seems to have taken seriously."

"And by the way, the RNC is rigging this for Trump," added Griffin. "There are people like Congressman Will Hurd, who was turned away from the previous debate, because likely Republican voters and independents factored into his poll numbers. I would think if you want to win a general election, you want somebody who brings those voters. That's also going to be a problem for the other candidates."

'A Nazi movement — all the way to the top’: critics denounce Trump’s antisemitic attack on ‘liberal Jews’

David Badash, The New Civil Rights Movement
    September 18, 2023, 12:18 PM ET

Donald Trump is being denounced for his antisemitic message attacking "liberal Jews who voted to destroy America" by not voting for him, at the start of Rosh Hashanah, the celebration of the Jewish New Year. Republicans have remained largely silent as "liberal Jews" trends on social media. The ex-president's remarks came just days after President Joe Biden warned that antisemitism has "risen to record levels."

Haaretz, the century-old Israeli newspaper with an international readership, called Trump's remarks "an ominous warning to American Jews in honor of Rosh Hashanah, retreading well-worn territory of dual loyalty tropes and conflating support for Israel and American Jews."

" Trump has frequently targeted Jewish Americans for not voting for him, including imploring them to 'get their act together before it’s too late,' earning widespread condemnations for 'Jewsplaining,'" the paper observed, adding: "Trump’s opinions of American Jews, however, have deteriorated into stereotypes for decades – touching on tropes of wealth, power and status."

Trump's post on Truth Social begins: "Just a quick reminder for liberal Jews who voted to destroy America & Israel because you believed false narratives! Let's hope you learned from your mistake & make better choices moving forward! Happy New Year!"

It continues, "Wake Up Sheep. What Natzi /Anti Semite ever did this for the Jewish people or Israel?"

Trump's post then lists a series of items, among them, moving the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, recognizing Israel's sovereignty over the Golan Heights, and recognizing Israel's sovereignty over settlements in Judea, all of which have not been uniformly embraced by "the Jewish people."

The Jerusalem Post adds that the ex-president's "post also rejected accusations that Trump is antisemitic, writing sarcastically that Trump is 'clearly one of the greatest antisemites of our time' in light of his achievements."

The paper notes that, separately, Trump has "denied connection with antisemites after meeting hosting Kanye West and white nationalist Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes at his Mar-a-Lago resort in November."

Republicans have ignored Trump's remarks, which also received little notice in the mainstream media, but criticism on social media has been swift.

MSNBC's Mehdi Hasan observed, "Even by Trumpian antisemitic standards, this is pretty disgusting. And on Rosh Hashanah. We have normalized a very old school, very familiar type of antisemitic fascism in this country. It’s scary stuff."

Sherrilyn Ifill, the former President & Director-Counsel of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund (LDF) wrote: "That tens of millions would even consider this man to lead the U.S. is grave and alarming. That so many of our vital institutions appear agnostic about it is so disappointing."

Jim Stewartson, an Emmy-winning producer wrote a lengthy post on the social media site X, saying "this is nothing short of a Nazi movement—all the way to the top," and concluding: "We must start treating Nazis like Nazis again."

Brett Meiselas, the co-founder of the anti-Trump SuperPAC MeidasTouch wrote: "There's never been a scarier time to be a Jew in America. This is truly horrifying, Nazi shit."

Attorney Daniel Uhlfelder observed, "In celebration of Rosh Hashanah Trump calls Jews sheep who need to wake up if they think he is a Nazi or Antisemitic. Yes, this is real."

Steve Vladeck the attorney and New York Times best-selling author wrote: "Just a little casual anti-Semitism from the leading Republican candidate for the presidential nomination—ON ROSH HASHANAH. It’ll get totally ignored by the press, his Republican opponents, and everyone except the 'liberal Jews'—who’ll all get a little more nervous."

Professor of political philosophy, social justice, and the Director of the Norman and Bernice Harris Center for Judaic Studies, Dr. Ari Kohen wrote: "Yes, it’s insulting. Sure, it’s nonsensical. But, also, a lot of the people who pay attention to Trump on 'Truth Social' are one or two 'truths' away from trying to harm people like me who spent the past two days in synagogue."

Former Obama campaign and administration official Tim Fullerton asked, "Why is this not being called out for the anti-Semitic garbage that it is? Why is this not being discussed by every media outlet?"

Depending on what thread you go to President Biden is both a doddering old fool who doesn't know where he is ar. Or a criminal mastermind that has avoided detection for decades.

They twirl and weave and stamp their feet.
What will they do if Biden doesn't get the ticket, or worse, gets the ticket and then can't continue?
Times a wasting, they best start figuring out alternatives to Biden.
