Oh and the scar....well my cardiologist said woo thats a nice one....one of the best ones she ever seen.....she is so full of shit.
bout 7" long straight down thru my breastbone 2 small ones below that where the drainage tubes were one small 1 1/2" where they took out my pacemaker ....thats all.

Oh yeah no unfortunately my body will reject my heart at least some.
That is the trick now balancing rejection with the supression of the immune system....to much rejection I die...not enough immune system I catch every infection known to man and I die. I miss a pill or 2 I die..... you know its not supposed to be this complicated to stay alive.

 

I hear ya ... it sucks ... but not so bad once you get use to it and stay on top of your diet drugs *waiver of sex* etc.

The scar thing ... that's what they always say! But if they are telling you that its not a bad scar believe them (at least after its fully healed it wont look so bad). I've seen some pretty bad ones. And if you walk around without your shirt wear your battle wounds well and be proud because that is what is keeping you here for you and yours.

& HUGZ ... get some rest you'll need it

Rockprincess I know you are right but my aversion to needles goes way beyond normal. Believe me I know people who love to inject themselves.....over and over.....with the same needle.....till its so dull it won't hardly pierce the skin.....and to me it is the most disgusting thing.....and now my worst horror has become real.
Now I gotta do it 4 times a day or i die. It IS that bad . I probably would have skipped the heart if I had known.

 

As if that wasn't bad enough then I had my first heart biopsy on thursday.....hehe piece of cake they said. Well they go through your jugular. ......yeah. Imagine that when you cant stand the thought of a needle going into your vein.
They give you a local (with a needle) in the side of your neck with your head turned all the way left, feet up in the air head down.
He says ok lift your head ....down.....lift .....down....and yeah I could feel it. He is looking at an x-ray monitor thing and guiding a sheath thru my veins to my heart. Then he grabs a little piece of my heart to test for rejection.
I only have to do this once a week for a month then every 2 weeks then evey month and i don't know I don't see it coming out all that well.
Yeah I think I might have passed on this amazing gift that has been given me I really do.
Therein lies my dilemma .....I have someone else's heart it is not mine And I am responsible for keeping it alive.
Its a good one too...I can lie in bed and hear it beating......hell I can look at my chest and see it beating.

 

Them motherfuckers even made me listen to country music while they did that.......Goddamn that pissed me off I was not a happy camper.....fuckin steroids Im liable to kick that little happy ass doctors ass next time I see him. And believe me I will see him again probably next thursday......

I've seen this same thing from time to time. People addicted to the needle so bad all their arms and legs were black and it did not matter in the slightest what was in it. They'd shoot anything from heroin to wine just to feel the needle.

FUCK!!! Publish this somewhere, this is the most effective thing I've ever read to give people a needle aversion. Damn man, after reading this I hope I never see one again.

Bud sad about the diabetes. You will get over the needle thing I think. I never understood the fear/aversion, they never bothered me, and I stick myself up to 10 times a day to test my bloodsugar (not that many every day.) Use the 30ga needles for sticking they don't nurt. If you are using 28 or 26 ga your fingers will start losing feeling from nerve damage and get callused on the tips. Use the side not the tip to stick.

Hope they didn't give you a shitstory on insulin use. I maintain normal blood sugar average by injection it every time I eat anything but coffee, black. Coke -= 10, or say 41mg sugar =10 units. Carbohydrates dont really matter no matter what they tell you. I just lookat sugar content and dose accordingly. Also use the 30ga needles on insulin if you are on it. God I hope they didn't tell you ;diabetic pills will take care of you. They won't. The two times I was in a hospital they had no clue about regulating my blood sugar and wouldn't let lme do it. Dont drink diet drinks they contain a nerve and muscle poison aspartame when it gets changed in the body to methanol.

The dosages are the schedule that I determined by experimentation.

Re: the chest scar. I have the same thing straight in center and the two drainage scars.
I also could feel the two bones they cut as they healed, about a year I think. Now its been over 3 years and my vertical scar is nearly gone. They used dermabond to close the incision instead of staples or stitches, thank goodness.

Guess you dont need the pacemaker anymore with a new healthy heart. I am surprised they didn't leave it just in case.

I suppose you didn't die and get to go the other multiverse since they put you out with anasthesia. Some people go out of body with it tho. I never have.

Hope you are back in a "normal: life except the drugs, a necessity, sadly.
