My dumbshit reasoning is that we should get rid of the entire economic system as we know it, because that system has nothing else to offer but production born out of greed, to keep an elite where they are: on top pulling our strings.

It makes no sense to keep alive a system which, hey, systematically excludes people from that same system, just because they lack the skills, ability or --god forbid-- the will to stay on the merry-go-round...

Procuction and manufacturing are going to get automized more and more. In fact, companies been holding back on automization for years now, out of fear of the unions...

Heavy industry will always be present, as long as there's still stuff to be found in the eath, or large scale chemical processes are required. But 90% of that labour can and will be automized...

The only solution will be to revert to production and manufacturing on a basis of need and voluntarism.

Reasearch is nowadays done by labrats who get paid for their hobby anyway. Research is done out of curiosity of what is possible, not out of greed, so research will always be done.

Many of you will of course laugh away this kind of reasoning, but our past has shown over and over again that the economic structures we've been using for millennia don't work as we again and again head for disaster...

Money shouldn't be used as an incentive to go to work, but the knowledge that you are contributing to a better world should be. Some of the best war movies I have ever seen were made in the Soviet Union. I particularly recommend "The Ballad of a Soldier," and "The Cranes are Flying." The Soviet movie based on Leo Tolstoy's "War and Peace" is also excellent.

There can, of course, be no justification of the Russian rape of German women at the end of the war. It is to their credit that American servicemen do not have a reputation for raping enemy women. This was noted by European military observers during the Civil War.
