I knew the Bears were gonna be tough as soon as they got Cutler. He's a damn good QB by NFC standards. McDaniels was an idiot for getting rid of him but at least Orton's been solid so far.

    NFL Employment Opportunity

The Pittsburgh Steelers are taking applications and tryouts for a new kicker. Any interested parties contact Mike Tomlin. on Tuesday, Monday has been declared a day of mourning. Tomlin says no expereince is necessary. anything is an improvement over their current employee.

It's too bad Cutler had to put up with all the crap he did for having a bad game. I think he's showing his qualities now, especially having Greg Olsen and Johnny Knox to thow to, not to forget Hester.

And I'm happy for Kyle Orton in Denver, I think he got a pretty raw deal in Chicago. I hope he continues to shine.

I agree he definitely got a raw deal. After what he did his rookie year, he has to sit behind Grossman and Brunell I think it was.. for 2 years? Bullshit. Olsen is a damn good tight end too, with the speed and agility of a WR.

As for Cutler, I don't know how anybody who saw his draft video didn't think he'd be good. He's got a 96 mph arm(it was measured for whatever reason), and can throw the ball into ridiculously tight windows, which is what he did at Vandy. He's also fairly agile.

I still grind my teeth over that year. After Orton took the Bears thru the the season and they won their way in to the Super Bowl they gave the starting position in the game to Rex, he was GROSS Man. That guy did absolutely nothing to get them there, then managed to give the game away. Argghh!

But it looks as if the Cutler-Orton trade may work out well for for both the Broncos and the Bears. Even with his messed up finger Orton had a pretty ggod game today, and from a clip I saw of Josh McDaniels it seems like Orton has the confidence and suppoort of his Head Coach- something he severly lacked with Lovie Smith and company.

It's the LAST game that really matters. You know, after which you get a Lombardi Trophy and and hang out with the president. Seems to me you got some catching up to do.

Personally I wanted to see the G-Men lose.. guess the Eagles have to take care of that one.. It seems it's always their job to bring overrated teams back to reality

Oh I always love seeing that and I love replaying the audio bit of the Eagles vs. the Boys ("and down goes Romo!") everytime he gets sacked.. but the Giants are the Cowboys of this year(overrated team, overrated QB, etc, picked for the SuperBowl for no reason) so I want to see them lose early in the season.

The Bears have won nine NFL titles - or is it ten?

    The Steelers have won six.

How do people count where you come from? In my world, nine is bigger than six.

We're talking ancient history, right? The Steelers stunk up the league for a long time, but in the modern era (i.e since the AFC - NFC merger) The Steelers have been the strongest team overall, even though the Hated Plowboys of Dallas, and the sign thieves of New England have also looked good.

If ancient history is worth anything in sports

Then I should be proud of the Pittsburgh Pie Rats instead of trying to hide them behind the Steelers, Panthers, and Penguins.

Any given Sunday (or Monday night, Thursday, Friday or Saturday) the glories of past performances mean nothing.

Cowboys/Giants are a great rivalry, yesterday guaranteed the continuence of it. Jets/Patriots the same.

Now I can say that the Bears will not even think about the Steelers again this season.

So true. The Steelers will be in the playoffs again and the Bears will finish 3rd in their division.

That's a relative statement. To many people today, the 70s count as "Ancient history" and in modern times the Steelers have at most two Championships to go at, compared to the Patriots' three. Or if you mark the cut-off date at 1980, the 49ers lead the way with five...

...the whole thing is absurd, unless you just count TOTAL numbers of titles. And the Packers lead the way. That is inarguable; everything else is special pleading to try and get the team you want to come out on top.

Sure does seem to be a whole bunch of terribly disappointed Steelers fans here, crying and greiving over their poor performance at being beaten by the Bears. Sounds like they are looking to the past - yes, the past as in over and done and doesn't matter for today - to salve their wounds about being beaten.

But the fact remains. In any game there is a winner and a loser, and yesterday the

    CHICAGO BEARS WERE THE WINERS

    AND

    THE STEELERS WERE LOSERS.

And thats all there is to it!!

Grab your Terrible Towels you Steeler fans, and dry your crying eyes.

The clock in Big Ben was silenced.
