That's why debating on the Internet is so much fun. I am confident that a competent, objective debate judge would declare me the winner every time. The next best thing is when my opponents start yelling insults at me, like tenguy calling me a Communist. :excited::excited::excited:

 

One can also learn much from his posts if one wades through the insults and obscene words. stumbler has the wisdom that comes to intelligent middle aged people through experience in life and reading. Most of the posters he goes up against are ignorant wingnuts with nothing in their heads but a few talking points learned from the demagogues of right wing hate radio. El Casanova gives him a contest from time to time, however.

 

You know what, I disagree with almost everything you believe in but I find your arguments and debating style interesting and enjoyable. You tend not to fling off the deep end and stay consistent with your presumed ideology. I think debating you on an issue would be enlightening and entertaining.

There is no point. No matter what I link to, how I explain how I came to a concussion, or how many of your questions I answer you will always come back with some "it is a big conspiracy that you refuse to see" or "your are such an idiot" answer. We have gone through this before and my opinion on you is reinforced every time you post. I am probably a lot like you, passionate and well read on the subjects I find important and interesting. The difference is, I know when something becomes futile.

Even in my real life I very rarely get angry. I see no reason to get angry on an Internet forum.

P.S. I like to restrict my posts to a single computer screen and a single idea. That makes my thoughts easier to digest. If I cannot respond to an insult with finesse I try to ignore it. I don't see any point in getting into a cuss word contest with someone.

tenguy calls me a Communist. I have known members of the CPUSA. They were a lot nicer than tenguy, and better informed too, but I never joined The Party. I do not call tenguy a Nazi either. It is sufficient to call him a reactionary.

 

Ya, I have been know to ask "Are you done yet?" when people yell, trying to start an argument. Anger is better if channeled into something a touch more productive.

 

I am thinking worst case scenario, to bypass the President. Because if Congress has 2/3 vote majority, and you have the President veto for some reason, the bill still goes through.

I know it does not take 2/3 vote majority to initially get a bill passed and turned into a law. But if the President vetoes the bill, then Congress will have to get the 2/3 vote majority.

That is why I was saying 2/3 vote majority, that was, it is guaranteed that the bill will become a law.

 

People who get angry easily should take up jogging or weight training. It would be better for their mental and physical health.

 

Then, if there are many more threads about Obama than Bush, then yes, Obama is evidently disliked more than Bush, or making more mistakes than Bush. Or maybe more people who have joined since then, are more politically inclined, thus more threads. Because if you compare past Bush threads, with current Obama threads, the amount of pages that a thread on Obama last for many pages, versus the amount of pages on Bush threads.

So we can only assume that he is much more hated than Bush.

And as I stated above, number of threads, do not show that people dislike Obama more, it is an option. But again, other factors could be taken into consideration, for the higher amount of threads produced. The chance that more people who are more politically inclined that have joined the forum since then, would explain higher amounts of threads. And considering that the amount of pages on a Presidential related thread, is much longer now, than before, it could be said that it is due to the higher amount of newly joined forum members who are politically inclined.

When I have been proven wrong before, I have admitted to it. I know some members who personally have told me that they were surprised to see someone admit they were wrong. So, I do have honor Stumbler.

But that is what I am trying to say, if you blame Republicans and call them Anti-American for those actions, it is hypocritical not to call Democrats Anti-American for the exact same actions.

And a person's statements and thought are protected under the 1st Amendment, so it is not Anti-American, if anything, it is very American.

In 2005, Jamie Leigh Jones was gang-raped by her co-workers while she was working for Halliburton/KBR in Baghdad. She was detained in a shipping container for at least 24 hours without food, water, or a bed, and "warned her that if she left Iraq for medical treatment, she’d be out of a job." (Jones was not an isolated case.) Jones was prevented from bringing charges in court against KBR because her employment contract stipulated that sexual assault allegations would only be heard in private arbitration.


30 Republican senators opposed an amendment to the Defense Appropriations bill that would prohibit federal defense contractors like Halliburton/KBR from getting money "if they restrict their employees from taking workplace sexual assault, battery and discrimination cases to court."

This was a despicable case, the courts ruled in her favor in 2007, nullifying the employment contract clause which forced arbitration. The amendment sought by Franks, is a grandstanding event, using the terrible ordeal to promote a political agenda.

The lady has sued her employer and the suit will be heard. The amendment is extraneous.

You ignored the data of projected Allied and Japanese for the months that were projected as needed to finish the war without the "bombs". These were based on similar casualties in campaigns much less intense.

As far as the Canadians coming to the US, how did you "blow that out of the water"? It is a fact that many US hospitals near the Canadian border, have inked agreements to provide services for the Canadian system.
