  3. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Stand back and consider

Obviously this is an emotive thread, the original intention clearly being to shock ,and I assume gloat over some sort or preceived vistory over American "imperialists".

Irrespective of the rights and wrongs of the invasion, the real tragedy ignored by those justifying or glorifying the insurgency is that it is it is ordinary Iraqis who are being killed in by far far the greatest numbers. They are not being kiiled by American/Western forces but by fellow Iraqis' and the reason for continued mass presence of US forces is the very insurgency itself - without it most US troops would have been back home a long while ago. Iraq is not primarily a Western/IMuslim conflict but a Muslim/Muslim conflict. Those fanatics that promote the anti west agenda are trying to firstly distract attention from this fact and secondly trying to provoke equally extreme reactions against Muslims by the west so that they can spark a real Western/Muslim conflict. Do not be provoked by them.

This is a tragic situation and we should feel for the majority of Iraqis whose lives are being destroyed by a nightmare situation that is out of their control...Understanding is the key not knee jerk hatred on either side.

Can any one explain to me..... Why our f****ing troops are all over the world???

It is clear that the United States government put us in danger by doing something bad in foreign countries
    .

For many years our government used to come to the other countries without people wiliness and trying to do something that most people in that countries don’t like. I don’t know why but the United States government is trying to force people all over the world to believe that they are policemen of the world. “To meet those responsibilities, and to ensure that no country dares to challenge the United States, the report advocates a much larger military presence spread over more of the globe, in addition to the roughly 130 nations in which U.S. troops are already deployed.”1 Most people from foreign countries hate our presents and actions that our government does in their countries. As a result, we have the September 11. I think that it was the biggest “No” that Muslim world said to United States.

Also, United States government can put us in danger by helping other countries to build up and develop their power. If we are going to give a closer look to the situation around Iraq today it is going to look strange. We created an enemy our selves just because no one was trying to predict what will happen. We are going to see that back days U.S. government thought that Iran was a big tread for us. So politicians decided to build up the military structure of Iraq. And they did a great job “The secret history of the U.S. government approval of potentially illegal arms sales to Saddam Hussein is the story of how the Reagan and Bush administrations aided and abetted the Iraq regime, allowing Saddam Hussein to build up the fourth-largest military arsenal in the world.”2 I think that the main idea of that action at that time was to fight Iran by using somebody’s hands. And what we got instead? We are fighting the army that we have financed.

Most people are saying that our troops are saying that our troops doing the right things just because they don't know what is going on....... They are misinformed......

One more part of my research paper on War in Iraq.... 99% of this paper is summary and quotations of Government official speeches.......

Just a few hours after the terrorist attacks of September 11th, President Bush made a brief appearance at Barksdale Air Force Base, in Louisiana. “Make no mistake,” he said, “the United states will hunt down and punish those responsible
for these cowardly acts.” It was a clear, specific reaction to the attacks. Nine days later, when bush came to the Capitol to give his first full speech about the attacks,
before a joint session of Congress, he identified Al Qaeda as their perpetrator an laid out a detailed course of action: the United States would go after Al Qaeda all over the world. Then he added two memorable, but less specific, sentences: “ Our war on terror begins with Al Qaeda, but it does not end there. It will not end until every terrorist group of global reach has been found, stopped, and defeated.” (Nicholas Lemann 283)
After all we heard a lot of speeches such as speech of Vice President Dick Cheney that is saying that America in our time should ask careful questions, not just about our past, but also about our future. The elected leaders of this country have a responsibility to consider all of the available options. And we are doing so. What we must not to do in the face of a mortal threat is give in to wishful thinking or willful blindness. We will not simply look away, hope for the best, and leave the matter for some future administration to resolve. As President Bush has said, time is not on our side. Deliverable weapons of mass destruction in the hands of a terror network, or a murderous dictator, or the two working together, constitutes as grave a threat as can be imagined. The risks of inaction are far greater than the risk of action. (298)
Form John le Carre perspective after September 11, Bush got the permission on war that he wanted. After this tragedy Bush had 88 percent of
Americans that wanted the war. The U.S. defence budget has been raised by another $60 billion to around $360 billion. U.S. created a new generation of nuclear weapons so we could feel safer. But at the same time the regular taxpayer’s had to pay for all that from their pockets. Pay for the war that they supported and don’t have a clear idea about. It is very difficult to understand how Bush succeeded in deflecting America’s anger from bin Laden to Saddam Hussein. Probably it was the best trick in U.S. politic history. (436)
The terrorists are the people without the land; they are people from all over the world. “Why Iraq?” asked Barbara Ehrenreich in her publication named Not The War We Needed, “Why not Germany, where some of pre-9/11 plotting took place, or Saudi Arabia, which supplied fifteen of the nineteen terrorists?” Plus there are no known connections between Sadam Hussein and Osama bin Laden. Perhaps we have not brought disaster to Afghanistan after all. (240)
United States government was saying for a long time almost in every newspaper and TV show that Iraq has a nuclear weapon of mass distraction. “The facts and Iraq’s behavior show that Saddam Hussein and his regime are concealing their efforts to produce more weapons of mass destruction” (Secretary of State Colin Powell 466). But as we can see, during this war United States forces couldn’t found one. Maybe if more people were informed better about all this war situation around Iraq, we could have stop the war, save thousands of people lives from both sides and save billions of dollars that was spend in this war. (464)
On February 4, 2003, Tony Benn who is the former British Labour Cabinet minister had an interview with Saddam Hussein who officially said that
Iraq has no interest in war. No Iraqi official ordinary citizen has expressed wish to go to war. The question should be directed at the other side. Any they looking for pretext so they could justify war against Iraq? If the purpose was to make sure that Iraq is free of nuclear, chemical and biological weapons then they can do that.
These weapons do not come in small peals that you can hide in your pocket. These are weapons of muss distruction and it is easy to work out if Iraq has them or not. We have said many times before and we say it again today that Iraq is free of such weapons. So when Iraq objects to the conduct of the inspection teams or others, that doesn’t mean that Iraq is interested in putting obstacles before them which could hinder the efforts to get to the truth. It is in our interest to facilitate the mission to find the truth. The question is does the other side want to get to the same conclusion or are they looking for a pretext for aggression? (464)
Once Vice President Dick Cheney said that he is familiar with the arguments against taking action in the case of Saddam Hussein. Some concede that Saddam is evil, power-hungry, and a menace but that, until he crosses the threshold of actually possessing nuclear weapons, we should rule out any preemptive action. That logic seems to me to be deeply flawed. “The argument comes down to this: yes, Saddam is as dangerous as we say he is, we just need to let him get stronger before we do anything about it”(299).
If we did wait until the moment, Saddam would simply be emboldened, and it would become even harder for us to gather friends and allies to oppose him. As one of those who worked to assemble the Gulf War coalition, I can tell you that our job then would have been infinitely more difficult in the face of a nuclear-armed Saddam Hussein. And many of those who now argue that we
should act only if he gets a nuclear weapon, would then turn around and say that we cannot act because he has a nuclear weapon. At bottom, that argument counsels a course of inaction that it self could have devastating consequences for many countries, including our own. (Vice President Dick Cheney 299)
On the other side, some people agree with the idea that government should control our minds. People feel safe and comfortable when they hear that everything is under control even if it is not true. Jay Bookman wrote that some people believe that the United States must seize the opportunity for global domination, even if it means becoming the “American imperialists” that our enemies always claimed we were. (347)
It is a good chance to have military bases in conquered Iraq from which U.S. can dominate the Middle East, including neighboring Iran. “In interview Friday, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld brushed aside that suggestion, nothing that the United States does not cover other nations’ territory. That may be true, but after World War II ended, we still have major bases in Germany and Japan. We will do the same in Iraq”(347). The United States government trying to present to every one that United States forces acting as policemen’s of the world. “To meet those responsibilities, and to ensure that no country dares to challenge the United States, the report advocates a much larger military presence spread over more of the globe, in addition to the roughly 130 nations in which U.S. troops are already deployed ” (Jay Bookman 350) They are doing all this to give very important feeling of safety to people who live in the United States.
Also, some politicians think that by victorious war actions in Iraq, U.S. government have a good opportunity to sand a message to the other nations such as Iran and Syria saying that having weapons of mass destruction is attracting attention that is not positive and is not helpful. American people worried a lot about how the Arab world is going to react but Arab world has gotten very, very quiet since United States forces started blowing things up. By doing this, United States government is giving an illusion of power over the world to Americans to feel protected, that’s what Rober Kagan believe. (351)
In contrast to all the loud talk about terrorism, weapons of mass destruction, and human rights violations, very little is being said about oil. The administration has been tight-lipped about its plans for a post-Saddam Iraq and has repeatedly disavowed any interest in the country’s oil resources. But press reports indicate that United States officials are considering a prolonged occupation of Iraq after their war to topple Saddam Hussein. It is likely that a U.S.-controlled Iraq will be the linchpin of a new order in the world oil industry. Indeed, a war against Iraq may well herald a major realignment of the Middle East power balance. The Middle East currently accounts for about 30% of global oil production and more then 40% of oil exports. With about 65% of the planet’s known reserves, it is the only region able to satisfy the substantial rise in the world oil demand predicted by the Bush administration. The Cheney report projects that Persian Gulf producers alone will supply 54-67% of world oil exports in 2020. (Michael Renner 580)

And how does this attitude make us different from the terrorists? Hm??

You don't fucking realize when you say "kill them all" "fuck muslims" or any other narrow-minded arrogant statement just lowers yourself to their level.

I'm so tired of this "my country, right or wrong" bullshit. People like you would make a good German back in the 1930s.

    Typical blind O'Reilly praising republican.

Where did I say I was tired of this country? I said I'm tired of attitudes like yours, and no, I'm NOT the problem. Clearly you're too filled with propaganda to get a sense of reality, the only reality you'll understand is the reality Karl Rove creates for you.

    Sweat Arab,
I've spent 14 months in northern iraq attatched to a highly trained sniper squad. If you would like to see any of my videos of the casualities of war, please, by all means, notify me. Otherwise, please don't broadcast my fellow soldiers, who have fallen in honor, on the internet. No one else here is broadcasting videos or photos of Iraqi civilians, soldiers, or terrorists. We show enough respect to the dead, no matter how right or wrong we think they are, to let them rest in peace. Please share that same respect.

    Thank you.
