Age as a number? No. Not in myself and certainly not in other people. Age as in seeing and feeling myself getting older, that bothers me very much.

 

I don't dwell on it. Out of my control.

 

I wish I could say I don't mind, but I can't.

It isn't the number I mind. It's the fact I can feel I'm getting old. For instance, I lift weights and can't see improvement. I run and now I'm suddenly feeling very weak when I'm running.

It can be I'm sick, or something, but I think it's age related.

As long as I can do the things I like, I don't mind the age. I can say what I mind is getting old. Not the grey hair, which I don't even dye, because I don't care. It's the sports thing.

I feel I'm decaying, somewhat. It's not about wrinkles, which I don't have, or barely. It's about my performance in sports.

I used to never get really tired after hiking, even after a whole day. It wasn't long ago. But on my last hike, I felt tired after only 3 hours and only 1500 ft climb. I hope it was just because it was very hot, but I fear I'm getting old.

I also feel it's difficult to keep my weight ok. Metabolism goes down when you age. I have to watch what I eat.

I don't lie about the number. I don't care of it. It's really the effects of getting old, like poor sport performance that bother me.

I've started to work on my mind to get used to the idea and I can see it working. I have no choice, anyway.

 

In my mind my age is just a number. I may not have the exact same body of my youth, but now that I’m my 40’s I have the self confidence to know what I want and am not afraid to experiment sexually. If anything I have sex much more often and enjoy myself 1000 times more.

 

No matter what age I am, I feel the same inside, so I rarely think about it. It doesn't bother me unless someone else makes an issue of it.

For example there are a lot of younger men on this site, and some of them do ask me my age, and a lot of them (especially the college guys) get turned on by the whole MILF thing, and that can be really hot. Continued... So, nearly two years later, I saw her for the first time in the morning, before her usual two hour makeup regime... I was shocked to note that her real eyebrows were more than an inch higher than the one's I loved. Then I remembered the solo trip to Taiwan for cataract surgery, where she came back with matching black eyes, claiming to of fallen down the stairs at the family home, after surgery. Women are free to lie about their age, because it's usually just a kind of role play. Everyone is in on the joke, so it's no big deal. It does reveal a basic insecurity.

This is why it's crippling for a man to shave years off his true age. Older men are supposed to be mature and confident. Lying about ones age, in order to seem more appealing exposes immaturity and insecurity.

I've always looked years older than my true age, which was an advantage when I was 16. These days, it hardly shows.

 

Non-inflammatory arthritis is rapidly making an old man of me. The degeneration of all of my joints is painful, it's unstoppable, and it slowed me down and hampers me in my all-day doings. Deformations in my spine make it impossible to walk straight up.

Just recently my daughter moved to another house and I helped her out with some little jobs, such as building a huge Ikea wardrobe (the size that made my wife jealous). I found out I still can do these things as long as I don't have to lift these damn packages, but it took me three times as long as I had wanted.

At work I'm the senior team member, not only senior in professional experience, but they rely on my senior wisdom, the kinda wisdom that comes with the years. They even told me, that was one of the reasons for hiring me, as the team was missing that element.

We bought ourselves a little hideaway in Florida, that we spend our vacations there, and I find myself counting forward to the days when we can go and spend the winters there like American snow birds. I'm afraid it's still many years to go, but if I'd win a few millions in the lottery I'd immediately quit my job and become a full time pensioner.

I realize I left my youth behind. And I don't even mind. It's just natural.

I just turned 38 a few months ago. I have white hairs on my temples. I have notable injuries in three separate joints that aren't healing as quickly as I'd like. I don't sleep as well as I used to. I'm set to attend my 20th high school reunion this summer. Despite all that, inside I feel as young as I did 20 years ago. My sense of humor has always been juvenile, so there's that. Right now, I'm having the best sex of my life. I have no worries about my physical age, and I have no reason to create any.

 

I never lie about my age, but I don't advertise it either. I don't dress like the average 61 year old. Being plus size, I find a lot of clothes look matronly, but then I found Torrid, which has cute clothes for younger gals. I do dye my hair but not because of the gray. My natural color is a dull mousey brown and I've been dyeing it some shade of red since college.

Dating at my age is a bit of a challenge. I'm still working and don't plan on retiring in the foreseeable future, so I don't have the spare time for travel and leisure activities a retired man might want. So that cuts out half then men in their 60s, so I mostly date men in their 50s who aren't looking for women in their 30s to make them feel young. I'm beginning to think I'll die alone.

ome other posts on this thread about how Asian women always look much younger than they are. My current gf of almost 12 years is Asian and is 40 but can easily pass for 25. She is still quite a bit younger than me.
