  3. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

    StanleyOG.

Getting old beats the alternative, and there are only two choices.

After a conversation with friends this weekend, I've suddenly become quite excited about turning 50 next month. I think I've been subconsciously reflecting on my life thus far and now it's clear... It's been exceedingly satisfying..! I'll go forth with renewed enthusiasm into the next decade. :)

We celebrate each decade. You should too. The 50's saw retirement for us. Hallelujah.
60's just came and went. Crawfish boil in Galveston for me, cruise for the whole family for her.

Too early to plan for the 70's, but it's coming quick.

Fifty brought me doing something I always wanted to do - play the saxophone. So I said to my wife, I want a tenor saxophone for my birthday. A saxophone? was her amazed answer. Some men buy a Harley-Davidson when they get fifty, I said. Would you want to go and ride a motorcycle? she asked. No. I want to play the saxophone.

Too bad, six years later the horrible condition my joints are in, make it impossible to play it anymore. The shiny sax is sitting in its case and it won't come out to be played before I finally decide to sell it.

You may be scared of aging. It comes with pain and discomfort. Stay young and healthy.

That would be lovely. But unfortunately aging is part of life.

You might look into an elimination diet. Different foods can cause inflammation in different people. With the elimination diet, you go off all the foods that are the most common causes of inflammation for 3 weeks, including grains and dairy. It's a tough 3 weeks. But at the end of the 3 weeks you might find yourself feeling less pain. Then you slowly start adding the eliminated foods back into your diet and keep a food diary, paying attention to your pain levels and how you're feeling in general. I won't lie. The first 3 weeks is a bitch, but it could be worth it.

Thank you for the advice, but the type of arthritis that I have is non-inflammatory. (in fact, the word arthritis is not right, suggesting an inflammation, in some counties it's called arthrose). I've been looking for such cures, and apart from the ubiquitous nonsense on nutrition that's on the internet, generally there's no cure and no way of slowing down the process.

I'll be 35 in 9 days. I don't look it and sure as hell don't act like it, but if you ask me how old I am, I won't lie about it.

I don't think I lied about my age at that period of my life - I wasn't so old that younger people would think me ancient and my opinions to be irrelevant, and I wasn't so young that older people would think of me as still an immature child, so yes, a happy time indeed, hope you enjoy it and try to remember everything you do, as it's those memories which help see me through today at 61 years of age.
