Can Democrats promise a ‘Better Deal’ with the same leaders in charge?
Democrats have a golden political opportunity for the midterm elections that are still 16 months away. They’re running against an incumbent president who holds a historically low approval rating, who’s facing a growing Russia-related scandal, and whose top policy goal (health care) remains unfulfilled.

The question: Can they take advantage of this environment, especially with the same Democratic leadership in the House and Senate? At 1:00 pm ET from Berryville, Va., House and Senate Democratic leaders — including Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer — roll out their economic agenda that they hope can lift their midterm candidates.

“American families deserve a better deal so that this country works for everyone again, not just the elites and special interests,” Schumer writes in a New York Times op-ed previewing this economic agenda. And Schumer says Democrats will announce three new policy goals today — 1) lowering prescription-drug prices, 2) making it harder for companies to merge, and 3) giving businesses a tax credit to train new workers.

But Democrats face this likely pushback: Where was this “better deal” when Pelosi was speaker with a Democratic president, and when Democrats controlled the Senate from 2007-2015? Doesn’t a new message need new leaders?

Democrats tell First Read that congressional leaders won’t end up as the final messengers for this message — they’re simply setting up the framework that individual Democratic candidates can use to their advantage in 2018. And these Democrats believe they need this positive, unified framework in addition to running against Trump, because polls show that voters trust Republicans more than Democrats on the economy.

 

Democrats are like the dinosaurs after the ice age. They don't know their time has passed.

 

If it's from the Democrats, it's not a better deal, it's a raw deal.

This must be the Democrats latest plan to destroy what's left of the middle class and make them dependent on government health and welfare programs.

But hey, what do you expect from the Jackass party...

The leftists had their chance, they gave us a healthcare policy that has failed, fallen short of what they promised.

The leftists gave us a federal EPA regulatory policy and platform that has pretty much destroyed the U.S. economy.

The leftists gave us economic barriers, they gave us a continental economy...taking jobs from the U.S., spreading them to 3rd world countries

The leftists gave the US an open border system.

The leftists continuously give the U.S. a mounting and growing National debt.

The leftists have no idea how to build an economy..no idea how to how to defend or uphold the laws.

The lelftists have no idea how to talk to the people... they only talk at the people.

 

Sixteen months is an eternity, with Obamacare in its present death spiral. And they own it, all the way.

They passed it in procedure.
Obama himself made dozens of changes to keep it afloat (most of the changes of dubious legality).
Hillary lost, so they can no longer illegally rig it.
And now, not a single one of them will vote to repeal and replace it.

If nothing changes, there will be many states next year that offer no Obamacare coverage whatsoever. But the foundation of their plank is to keep that Ponzi Scheme running.

 

Obama care just needs to be repealed and not replaced. Let the free market work. Keep goverment out of it.

Among real people in the real world (most of whom are moonbat snowflakes, this being Boston/Cambridge), I am saying that it is crazy to do a perfunctory repeal.

Because Obama was insidious, malicious, and evil, when he tied Obamacare so tightly to the Medicaid expansion. Medicaid, a program originally intended for the poor. Thus ensuring that a repeal of Obamacare would hurt the poor first and foremost.

But here? On XNXX? Sure. +1. Repeal the motherfucker. Every shortsighted dickhead who bought Obamacare at 10 cents on the dollar signed a Faustian bargain in doing so. Screw'em. Fuck'em. They bought Obama's lies. Let them pay the piper.

The poor didn't die before ACA...they wont die after ACA.

Although more died while ACA was in full swing, I think it was 80,000 or some such shit like that.

Mortality in 2015 rose more than 50 percent faster in the 26 states (and Washington, D.C.) that expanded Medicaid during 2014 than in the 24 states that did not.

Feds arrest IT staffer for Wasserman Schultz trying to leave country

A House IT staffer at the center of a congressional computer equipment scandal has been arrested by federal officials and charged with bank fraud, Fox News has learned.

Fox News is told officers and agents from the U.S. Capitol Police, the FBI and Customs and Border Protection were involved in the arrest of Imran Awan at Dulles International Airport.

Awan, 37, of Virginia, pleaded not guilty Tuesday to one count of bank fraud during his arraignment in federal court in Washington, D.C. He was released but will have to wear a GPS monitor and abide by a curfew.

Awan also was ordered to turn over all his passports. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 21.
