Guinness for me. Had my first in Dublin, at St. James gate. It was brilliant!

 

My first look over any bar will bring me to the vodkas and other liquors. After that and if nothing hits my fancy, I'll look over what beers are available...really only just started appreciating beer at all in the last couple years. Since a trip to Cancun I'd always drank Corona so that tended to be my first and only choice until recent. But what I like to drink are:

--Samuel Adams seasonals (currently going thru a case of Winter Lager)
--Blue Moon
--Guinness (that is usually a one and done though, unless I get it split half and half with some cider)
--Corona

Off the top of my head I can't think of anymore, but what tends to happen is if I see a tap that looks interesting and I'm in the mood for something new, I'll just try a new beer and see what happens.

My out-and-out faves now are Sam Adams Oktoberfest and then Winter Lager. The flavor is just too fucking good!

ALSO...I feel you should all applaud me for looking and finding this old thread rather than being a moron and starting a whole new one because I was lazy. :mrgreen:

 

I'm in Brasil at the moment and agree, Bohemia is the best pilsener here.

Hahn, well, i haven't tried that one, but Hahn used to give me a cracking headache, so didn't like that one.

The best I had in Oz was Little creature's pale Ale, fantastic hoppy flavour, reminiscent of what a pale ale should be (strong and hoppy, improving its shelf life, allowing it to be exported to the colonies.) unlike the new marketing strategy of calling a beer a pale ale just cos it sounds good.

I'm a big fan of anything from the Wychwood brewery such as hobgoblin.

I haven't tasted a single US beer I enjoyed as the majority are made using corn and rice starch which ferments to the consistency of water leaving it completely lacking in body no matter what the alcohol strength, but I believe there are some great ones from the microbreweries.

Beer! Gotta love it! And, fortunately here in Brasil, even the girls drink it aplenty:excited:

The problem with Emu, Swan and most of the commercial beers in Australia is the use only Pride of Ringwood hops, which is great for bittering, but has zero flavour. Some of the Tasmanian ones, on the other hand, use hops such as saaz which impart a delicious floral note.
I wouldn't drink Emu or Swan if I had an alternative!
