Sometimes classics are the best.

 

...and I think that is pretty typical when you consider the source of the theme...songs. While musicians struggle to find their own space and push out their own "unique" message, they still generally will fall into some old school category with a theme that was hit up in each previous generation. Some things simply stay the same.

 

Just a reminder, as of today, there are 7 days left in the Reading Phase, so if you haven't finished reading and making comments, you have one week left.

a classic, no matter how it is played

 

I have to say I'm surprised no one did a story based on / around the song Akon - I just had sex. Am I the only one who can see a guy running through town, bragging he just had sex, and possibly high-fiving people? It could have made a fun, silly story.

 

I can state the 'near-impossible' is now accomplished: narrowed down the list to a few prospects. The impossible is now at hand: find three of them better than the rest, which is really a challenge.

Sometimes I think deciding which story of the best of them is the hardest part, not the writing phase, of a CAW.

 

Only having one vote and one stand out story made CAW 18 an easy decision. I'm having trouble picking a winner this time.

 

To all serving members of our armed forces, to the veterans, to their families, and the families of those no longer with us:

Without all of you, and what you did or continue to do, we would not have our freedom today.

While you're at it, add Born to Be Wild to my list. A lot of things have changed since I posted my Top 8 list, even my votes (they have changed several times since). I'm not sure of anything anymore. I might be changing my sexual orientation next (just kidding).

And despite my pitiful record with women, I would still rather be human than a praying mantis. Thanks for helping me to be grateful for what I've got (my life), Pixy.
