I didn't enter this one because I am too new to the site and didn't really know anyone when I arrived. However next time around, I will be looking at entering with a steel pen and a mighty two fingered typing technique.

To a degree. This happened to be one day where I have set aside work on Dream of Dragons Three for a time and as I said, happened to be in the forum as Ejls began to post the stories for reading.

Teasing you. I've skimmed them all, but I think I want to savor this feast slowly. From the tiny bit I've seen, I'd say we have some fine entries (entrees ), and I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see a very close vote.

 

Ejls Honey nothing to do with you....the amount of the stories shows we worked hard on the ones that are in it. Also As I had promised another accept life got in the way and it is not yet complete. My partner and I shall post it as soon as it is finished. Hugs one and all.

 

Actually this may be, due to the quality of the stories, result in a two or three way tie for first (though it is possible all six finish first...in a CAW anything can happen...)

 

I actually find it a great compliment to find that there are only a few entries. It proves that authors have taken the challenge seriously and have not sent in stories of inferior quality. I had several offers, and I apologize for not accepting the others, but I find it hard to see how anyone could write more than one serious story, knowing that they would be setting one team against another. By all means, someone could supply a specific part for several stories, ie sex scenes, but it would be difficult, in the time frame, to write more than one major story.

The idea for this CAW is an absolute masterpiece, especially the anonimity factor as well as keeping the scores secret until the end. As others have pointed out, there is always the chance that some may sollicit votes via PMs but in this case I think that comments on threads will count as much for the teams as actual votes at the end. To be told that the story, written by two or three people, is great is worth ten votes by socks. I'm delighted by the number of reads and the positive input by readers, since the latter are well-respected writers on the forum. There may not be many entries but quality will overcome quantity any day.

I'll take six filet mignon dinners over a couple dozen hamburgers any day, no matter how excellent those burgers may be.

People made the wise choice. Collaborate if you can, on more than one story if you're that good at muti-tasking (or that much or a masochist), and do what you do well.

I wish there were more stories. I suspect that's what ejls is bemoaning, but in most CAWs, it comes down to about a half-dozen high-quality entries anyway, doesn't it?

 

In a way I can understand Ejls being disappointed with only six entries; yet that is still six great entries written by a coalititoin of eccentric authors who have their own unique styles of writing.

This is new ground for a CAW, and we can reasonably expect to have more entires by more teams when another CAW Host/Hostess declares it for the selected theme.

If anything else, it shows how diverse the talents of our forum authors are and may inspire new CAW entries by new authors in the future as well.

WSF - if nothing else, at least everyone was free of my usual insanity for one CAW:excited:

 

I think, and hope, that after this CAW we may well see teams entering even when this is not necessary. When I first joined this forum it was to write sex stories but I find that, as time goes on, I am drifting into mainstream writing. It would be great if, from now onwards, writers could get together to produce top-class stories for CAW even if this results in fewer entries. My working relationship with the team for this CAW was absolutely perfect but I would love to try a challenge with a self-centred bastard who thinks (s)he is God's gift to writing. Anyone up for it?

 

Please don't forget those from outside this forum. The story for my team's entry was supplied by someone who rarely sets foot in here but, without his/her input, I can confirm I would not have been able to enter this challenge.

If anonymous posting of all stories by CAW SOP wasn't a glitch-filled nightmare, I think it would be an excellent idea to carry forward, for the very reason that it causes readers to focus on prose rather than personalities. Maybe going forward, if it's not too difficult, it would be fun to allow the OPTION of writing on a team. We could wind up with entries from single individuals or committees, and if the team efforts blend as well as these seem to, we'd never know.

As snow has said, new ground. I kinda like it here.

Actually, I guess I'm one of the few that prefers to write alone, or, at least willing to vocalize it in this forum. I consider writing to be a form of art, like a painting in which the painter tells a story with colors, shades, texture, overlaps, and strokes. I can't imagine many painters collaborating on a painting. Maybe it does happen; I admit ignorance in that art form.

I don't think the CAW was flawed because of fewer entries. It was simply the most challenging CAW ever presented. Nothing wrong with that. It's good to try different things. I think it would be nice if future CAWs allow collaborative work. I just hope they don't require it because that would exclude me.

I like the anonymity factor, although it's getting pretty easy to figure out who all of the writers are by the comments being left in the other thread. It's like a group of cats on a hot tin roof over there. :excited:

I did write a story by myself using the two paragraphs. Once the voting is over I will post it, simply for fun.
