Yeah actually, my idea is that the Muslim would be a clean cut, neat, rather mild mannered accountant or something, and I'd be his nature loving, long haired, long bearded, messy room mate, who is unsure about the role religion should play in modern life. I basically believe religion should be a very private, personal thing and it shouldn't influence other people. If someone asks about your religion, share some stuff with them, but don't try to convert them. In this era, with the kind of access to information many of us have, we can find out more about religions directly from the source if we choose to pursue it.

On the TV show, maybe the neat Muslim can have a messy cousin, and I'd have some other neat family member visit as guest stars.

Meanwhile this week in Egypt a mob of Muslims attacked a elderly Christian woman. MODERATE Muslims.

“Released late Wednesday, it said that during the May 20 attack, the mother of the Christian man, who had fled the village, was publicly stripped of her clothes by the mob to humiliate her.

“Security officials said the woman was beaten and insulted while being paraded by the mob through the village. They said the mob was made of about 300 men.”

If you were to believe the narrative of American liberals, this sort of violence is of an ISIS nature, not a Muslim nature, but none of these men were flying the flag of the Muslim extremists.

What saddens me is that they call us racist and bigots for saying the exact same things that the Islamist are saying in the video you posted. They don't believe us and they won't believe their own ears when they hear the Islamist telling them exactly what they plan to do to us. What hope is there for us when our leaders and our fellow citizens are such idiots. It's as if they want to be ruled by Islam. They have no idea what life will be like us and our children and grandchildren under shariah. They'll be sorry when the see our culture disappear and be replaced by a medieval torture chamber... but by that time their tears will be too late.

My beef is with the Islamic ideology. Why this ideology has mainly caught on among Black Africans and Arabs is a separate issue. It may be lack of the ability to engage in critical thinking but that can be caused by many things including their backward culture and lack of education. Or it could be the allure of being told by Islamic that they can become part of an exceptional group of people that are favored by Allah. That and the promise that they will someday rule the world, cupled with the accompanying Islamic promises of death to all non-believers. Maybe it's a combination of all these factors but I definitely would not hang my argument along racial lines. This would derail my argument and turn it into an argument about race and not the dreadful ideology that Islam promotes.

DL, I think you're a pretty smart and well informed individual. However your focus on race as a defining issue is counter productive. Many American Black have managed to lift themselves out of ghetto poverty through education and a persistent determination to improve themselves. I think the ones that remain in the ghetto are there because of their "victim" ideology coupled with a dedication to a street thug life-style which leads them down the path of additional victimization and failure. The big and important difference between Race and Ideology is that one is set and can not be changed but the other is open to change and improvement. We can't change skin color but we can change minds and attitudes.

I got a PM yesterday. It was from a poster that became a member in 2014 and has 0 public posts. It was very disturbing. I dislike Sadiq Khan, I don't think his appointment is a good thing for Britain in general and London in particular, and I do not like Islam nor its doctrines, but there are well over a billion Muslims in the world. You can't fight them all, and you don't need to. The minority that are the problem need to be reached and prevented from peddling their backward ideals and their hatred.

During Mohammed's lifetime Judaism and Christianity were popular among many Arabs. However, Jews were racially exclusive, and made it difficult for Gentiles to convert.

Christianity was getting tied up in the theological complexities and difficulties of the doctrine of the Trinity. Christianity makes three assertions about Jesus: he is the Messiah foretold by the Old Testament; he is the Son of God; he is God. The first two assertions are found throughout the New Testament, and do not create logical difficulties. The third one does. The divinity of Jesus is hinted at in Philippians 2:5-6, where St. Paul writes, "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: who being in the form of God thought it not robbery to be equal with God."

The divinity of Jesus is only clearly asserted in the Gospel According to St. John in a number of passages beginning with 1:1,14 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God...And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."

This is more eloquent than lucid. What it says is that God is the Word, and the Word is Jesus.

This creates logical problems. Christianity could have believed in three gods: God the Father (who is the Old Testament Yahweh), God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost.

However, in the Gospel of St. Mark Jesus asserts the Shema, which is one of the holiest Jewish prayers, Mark 12:29 "And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord."

Also, in Matthew 19:17, Mark 10:18, and Luke 18:19 Jesus denies his divinity, saying respectively "And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments," "And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God," and "And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God."

The Doctrine of the Trinity is a logical contradiction that states: God the Father is God, Jesus Christ is God; the Holy Ghost is God; these are separate; there is one God.

The Doctrine of the Trinity does not roil contemporary Christians because we do not give it much thought. During the life of Mohammed it did bother Arabs.

Mohammed combined in his new religion what the Arabs found appealing in Judaism and Christianity, while he excluded what they had difficulty accepting. It is easy to become a Muslim. Muslim theology is simple, and easy to understand. All one needs to do is to say with sincerity:

"lā ʾilāha ʾillā-llāh, muḥammadur-rasūlu-llāh," which means

"There is no god but Allah. Muhammad is His Prophet."

With this creed Mohammed unified the Arab Peninsula. While this was happening the Byzantine Empire and the Persian Empire were fighting a devastating and inclusive war that weakened both of them. This made them vulnerable to Muslim aggression following Mohammed's death. The Arabs conquered Egypt, Palestine, and Syria, which had been Byzantine provinces, and all of Persia.

Arab civilization dominated the West until the Mongol conquests of the thirteenth century. The Mongols did not conquer the Arab Peninsula. They did conquer and devastate what is now Iraq. At the time what is now Iraq was the center of Arab civilization.

The Arabs recognize and resent their subordination to the West. They believe they can again become dominant by returning to the Koran.
