that's part of the hysteria problem, @shootersa ... the right wants to make it an illegal immigration issue, so that they have righteous indignation of castagating lawbreakers on their side! Of course, the intent of this particular group of people, as was the intent of the previous 3 or 4 groups, was to apply for asylum, legally, while drawing attention to their plight.

They aren't, as a group, dangerous. They aren't, as a group, intent on taking yer jobs. There are no ISIS terrorists hiding in their midst. And even if there are a small ratio of nefarious types riding the coattails of this movement, we are extremely well-equipped to handle it, even if the group that shows up is over 1,000.

 

It IS illegal immigration.

 

Well then, help Shooter understand; why would several thousand people WALK thousands of miles across Mexico to apply for asylum in the US? This is not just an innocent "we want our freedom" thing, it is an organized ploy and Shooter for one, wants to know what these groups really want, and who is organizing them.

Then we can talk about what can, should, and will be done with them.

These migrants are not the organizers, and not the force behind this caravan. They are every bit pawns in someones scheme. Shooter wants to know what it's all about.

And by the way, the Honduras and Guatemala governments have both reported arresting hundreds of identified terrorists and gang members out of that caravan.

But none of this matters. The military is never to be deployed on U.S. soil in order to support domestic policy. Ever hear of Posse Comitatus?

You see, posse comitatus prevents the use of the military for law enforcement. The military still has responsibility for securing the borders.

The only way posse comitatus would apply is if the migrants were to be given the same rights as citizens.

I'm looking at the numbers put forth by the organizers, the pictures shown in their promotional pieces and the news photos being published. They are mostly young men, very few women and virtually no children.

 

The amazing thing is that none of you even bothered to mention the involvement of the United States in keeping these people down. Even Obama is guilty of that. This goes a LONG way back, too. General Butler warned us about this!

 

While Nicaragua is larger geographically, Honduras is bigger in population. Almost 1/3rd of the people in Nicaragua live in the capitol city, while only 1/9th of Hondurans live in or near Tegucigalpa it's capitol. This renders the population of Honduras much more rural and living as squaters on public land. Much harder for them to protest, but it might be making them safer.

 

you are suddenly worried about how people from other nations supposedly break laws in Mexico? You fail to answer the question - what has any member of the "Caravan" done so far that has broken any US law or been illegal in the US?

We are not taking part in a collegate debate, are we? We mostly are stating opinion which are up to the others to invalidate.

 

As long as they stay on the Mexican side of the border, they have not broken US law and they will not be bothered by US law enforcement.

However, if staying on the Mexican side of the border is the intention of the caravan, then they need not travel all the way to the US-Mexican border....
