With respect for the feelings of others here, may I suggest something?

Less chat, more writing.

This thread alone has 600+ posts. Imagine if it had 80% less posts, mostly essential utility posts, and instead everyone spent more time churning out stories.

Who among us would not like more quality stories from the quality writers that frequent here?

Not trying to tell you, you, or you what to do. Simply making the statement that good writers...write.

I personally think there are a lot of good writers here, and I'd rather read your fiction than your non-fiction...unless of course it is a true-life story. :excited:

 

Horse - no offense is taken but I have been involved in the writing and rewriting of nineteen stories for my cat-girl Charity series, in additon to the "Miss Minn and the Magician" and my CAW entry.

So I can imagine the others have been just as busy.

 

Perhaps, but you have to admit that posting three times as many posts in this one thread as anyone else here is pretty prolific. I can only imagine how many more stories you could have written.

 

The forum is like the break room for me when I'm writing. Sometimes I'll be typing away and get to a point where I'm stumped about how to say something, or I'll want to Google some background info about a place or thing, or I'll just get distracted. That's when I come here.

My entry is up, for better or worse. Now I can sympathize with/laugh at those who aren't done! :excited:

 

When I'm posting on here, it's when I'm not in the mood for writing. I have a "Night Gallery" story which has been bubbling away for a month or two, but I don't feel like working on it tonight, so I'm idly plonking about on the forum.

I know what you mean, Horsey, but if we all only beavered away (no pun intended) at our keyboards and didn't chat, the forum wouldn't be such a communal place to be, in my humble opinion.

It's nice to have a balance between writing and chatting. Although perhaps we should all beaver away a bit more ...

WSF - anyone who gets to proof one of Ejls wonderful stories is blessed indeed, she never fails to provide us with less than a true gem of gems with each story written.

See it doesn't matter how old you are Wsf you need to get in position for your spanking that Ejls is about to give you now.

Wait... I think we all should get in that position seeing how she is about to whip our butts with her entry.

 

Hmmm. Spanking and ejls. Interesting topic, depending on who is spanking whom while doing what else.

We all know the quality of an ejls story. We've seen her expand her work to include many genres over the years, and Christmas stories are a niche of hers. Yeah, she'll get well-earned votes.

 

No worries there - remember, I'm rushing to get the crap down on paper.

 

Her work is like yours to me, and DC's, and a lot of others I truly look forward to reading them. If she manages to get an entry in (keeping my fingers crossed that she does) she would most definitely receive well-earned votes, as I am sure you will and Snow, Gymgirl, and everyone else who has entered.

Maybe that's the problem, crap don't belong on paper it belongs down the toilet. Sorry bad joke, I do that a lot.

Take your time you do have the whole weekend to finish, get it proofed, edit, proof again, get final touches, then enter it in, and be like "whoa did you see that? It was truly a Christmas miracle."

Then when we read it will will be blown away.

 

Her Christmas stories are always miracles, including her children's Christmas masterpiece, "The Christmas Coat" http://stories.xnxx.com/story/28218/The_Christmas_Coat. If you haven't read it, you should. It's not long, and you can read it to your kids or your grandma. I still think she needs an illustrator or an animator for it.

HCB - thanks for the vote of confidence as you have given to so many others.

Personally, come what may in the voting period of this CAW, I am already more than happy with the comments I have been getting. That alone makes it worth the time it took to craft that piece of pure madness.
