Work with a partner – a collaboration. Here are the details:

• Reach out to another writer and form a partnership. Maybe it’s someone who has never written before. Maybe it’s someone you’ve seen on the other site but has never participated in the forum. This could be a time to introduce our community to others, along with getting them to participate in their first CAW.
• PM me with the team information as soon as these are established. You do not have to announce it to others.
• Write a story using the paragraphs below as its beginning. The main characters in your story must be living, breathing human beings. How you write it is up to you. You can send it back and forth or have one person write while the other feeds ideas. You could go back and forth between characters. It’s entirely up to you. You will have six weeks to complete this task, however due to geographic positions of our writers, I will be flexible. Time zone differences can be a hurdle. Deadline: Sunday, March 3, 2013
• You will not be posting the stories. All stories will be posted by CAW SOP by title only. The authors/teams will be anonymous. For all you over achievers, you may partner with more than one person and submit as many stories as you wish.
• And the winner is….The team that wins will create the next CAW together.

Ejls I have a question about this CAW. I understand that the team ups will be revealed later but can we guess as to who the teams might be? I think it might be fun to see if we can guess right just based on the writing styles.

I ask because I already have a thought or two on who wrote what and I think this could be a fun game of both perception and misdirection.

 

I have to admit, given the writing styles and twists and turns trying to identify any authors, if Ejls allows us to guess, will be difficult.

Of course that makes it all the more fun, given, as Dizzy said, the perception and misdirection involved.

 

I figure if we simply did just an anonymous entry CAW we could have a relatively easy time figuring who was who by writing style. But I love the challenge in trying to crack who the teams are that way.

 

Be my guest Dizzy, play detective and see what you can find out.

I'm already getting impatient to see who the winners are; and what mayhem they will unleash for CAW 16.

 

I think it would be an awesome idea to TRY and guess... I have a few ideas but nothing concrete.

Would be fun to see how wrong or right we get it.

I do think Ejls had a great idea with having the entries be anonymous. People have tried to call the CAWs a popularly contest in the past. I disagree with that but I think the idea of a future CAW being anonymous could be awesome.

I think just like trying to figure out who the teams are this time an anonymous writer CAW with lots of story entries could be really fun as the writers would only be revealed at the winners circle.

Enthusiastic applause for you all Writers

I had three goes at this and I just couldn't get over the hump: how do you turn the opening scene into a sex story?:wall:

We had an artificial Insemination robot, one inspired by the writing of someone I've never heard of and I even started one with the first paragraphs in quotes so I could write an erotic female exhibitionist, lesbian romp but it died due to over work from my co writer.

So just being able to submit something I think is pretty bloody fantastic.

And that they're actually pretty good is even better.

I simply can't wait to start reading the other entries. So excited to see what the other people came up with! How long before the end of my workday? I was not blessed with patience in overbundance.

 

I've read one story. By the fourth paragraph, I was convinced I knew who one of the writer was, but by the tenth, I knew I was wrong. A third of the way in I clearly identified classic trademarks of another writer, and three sentences later knew that idea was dumb.

Maybe six different people worked on it?





Question for the baby boomers: Does anyone remember a porn novel that got some notoriety in the popular press in the early '70s because it was written by a slew of different people? Everyone wrote one chapter with some basic guidelines from the editor, and then they threw it together and called it a book.

The first CAW entry I read blended together WORLDS better than that thing, and it was hardcover.

 

Of course you can guess. We're just not going to tell you if you're right.

 

I read them all last night and cast my vote. I found a couple of the entries dark and disturbing but all were very well written.

I also think I know at least one of the artists by a trick I was taught a long time ago. Names, authors tend to be very monogamous with names. Using the same names over and over in the stories.

Ejls, in the reading/voting phase here we get to see another aspect of your sheer fiending genius...

We get to spend a few days slamming our heads on tables and walls to try and figure out which authors wrote what...ingenious indeed of you to grant us this opportunity.

 

PP - sorry to hear about the headaches you ran into for entries, it sounds as if you and a partner had a wonderful set of ideas.

Personally for the six entries I found two of them very dark indeed, one of which I could not finish the first time through...note that did not eliminate it from consideration for my vote.

Such a story is hard for me to handle just now, but that impact is telling me there is such crafting, easily on level with one other fairly light hearted one, (clue - ticklefishing), which makes it worth due consideration for my vote.

 

Pixy - just basing this on other posts you have done, you teach or deal with a classfull of students, which speaks of you having an abundance of patience where it matters the most.

 

Ok! So I just read the first story, and I was very impressed. I think I know who I think wrote it, but I would have to read the other stories first to make sure. Either way, it was still a great story.

 

I have read 3 so far one so dark and one truly movie like...now for the third made me wonder which pair or threesome wrote it...(Yes I said threesome lol.)
