Stillness in time.

You know, it's wierd, all feedback on all of my stories on all of the sites which I have uploaded on, has come to a complete stand still. For the last week or so, nothing has happened at all, no comments, no votes, no ratings...nothing, odd lol. I've never known it to happen before . All sites seem to be remarkably quiet, anyone have any idea why? :S

 

It's been that way for a while. Ever since the summertime, there haven't been comments across the board. It can't be explained other than a lack of interest on the part of our readers, or more readers have taken to writing.

 

I see! That is strange, maybe people are being tempted away from reading erotic stories like you say. It's a shame, I feel kinda lost without feedback, I don't know where to go next.

 

Not that they're tempted away, maybe more of them took to writing. Since more people are writing it tends to stagnate both readers and writers. Having such an influx of material can be overwhelming. What everyone wants is the perfect ratio of readers to writers; 1 to 1. But this isn't guaranteed.

At its peak there were a good 3 or 4 readers to every one writer. Now it seems only the taboo categories are seeing any play. So if your readers are drying up then there isn't much hope for the rest of us.

Stick it out. Things like this are cyclic. Keep doing what you're doing for as long as you can and hopefully it will attract readers to you and your work.

 

Hopefully . I won't give up, I love writing. It's just easier to motivate yourself when you get positive feedback right? I'm sure it will pick up again, who doesn't enjoy a good story? I probably read just as much as I write, it depends on my mood. I still haven't read all of the CAW 9 entries yet, but I plan to get around to it. I'll be sure to leave a comment on all of the ones I read. I'm a bit slow to be honest haha.

Yeah... I was a little disappointed at how low my story is polling based on the story site stats. (Just like some of the Republican wannabe candidates I suppose. )

 

I guess that if it wasn't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all. I'm fortunate to have all of these well wishers, right?

 

Shine-chan, just as those wannabe candidates have learned; YOU HAVE TO CAMPAIGN; YOU HAVE TO CAMPAIGN!!!!! It's not against the rules, you know.

I know my entry wasn't exactly finished, but hey. This contest gets a sizable amount of coverage and I received a wealth of input because of it. It is a piece of a larger narrative I am working on and I was trying to gauge interest.

Apparently there is some so there is hope for its development

To all of the people who commented on my entry I am grateful. Though some of them are fellow writers, it makes this kitty feel all warm and cuddly inside to actually receive such valuable words of praise and acknowledgement on his story.

 

I meant my congrats sincerely. I might not approve of the way you campaign but that is the fruits of such dedication.

 

look at the votes. it dont look like to many socks have voted but it dont matter. ELP has ruined this hole challnge with the way hes going and tellling everyone too vote for him it dont matter what anyone else does he won. hope he feels good about it.

 

thats how we got the clusterfuck that was the caw7 voting. emerson thought he had a better idea so he made the votes anonomous. thats how i was born becuase noone could see how i voted. see its not about the writing its abotu the winning and being a big man

Dear oh dear. Emerson's story was a good story, that's the main reason he's winning at the moment lol. If it was a bad story, nobody would have voted for it. I'm not saying it was the best, that would clearly be a story by the name of "Short Term Relationship" , but it was a worthy winner nonetheless.

Crap I can't cry anymore... Dammit! Two people voted for me... I now have to go back an re-read man of the house from the beginning because I forgot what track I was on... and the dog farted and it's making my eyes burn... Or I could go back to the drawing board on another of my stories or continue this one or ... Ahhhh! so many choices!!!

 

Or you could have a drink and forget about writing tonight.

Of course, I just finished the first chapter of Ann, Rags to Riches, so I can say that.
