I personally have never done it to my wife, but I see people do it all the time. I believe the main reason is like going to the same restaurant where you have the same plate every day, and after a while you want to try & taste something new. Even if that plate is phenominal! Basically the new wears off and now that you have completely had your partner, there is nothing left to explore... You then see another fine piece of ass, and then decide to sample the new special of the day.

Some people get a thrill off the fact of getting caught I guess, I despise any form of cheating so I'd just give "because humans are disgusting and a mistake" type of an answer

 

same here, cheating is terrible and dishonest. it ruins relationships and lives, so i dont really see the point in it. now if your partner knows about it, then i dont really care. because then you both can go to swinger parties, and those just kikass

 

Honestly why do humans do some of the things they do? Such as murder, genocide, racism, rape, adultry, necrophilism *that one takes a special kind of guy* the list goes on and on.

Human behaviour is mainly determined by 1. gene factor 2. environment 3.opportunity 4.attitude of mind-sex is like tongue & mouth, they both desire to have variety & variety.

 

It's human nature to want what we can't have....thus the thrill of the chase!

A. because they're not getting what they need or want at home
B. because they're pushed into some one else's arms by their partners lack of emotional and physical attention

I think people are a bit confused and let society control them to easily... I belive this because I used to be the same... but think about this...

Is it natural to marry some one and spent the rest of your life with them... I think marraige was invented by women who got to emotional when their partner took off...

If people want to stay together fine... I may find someone I wish to stay with... but maybe I will get lucky and find 2 girlfriends... or maybe I willl share a girl friend or never have one....

I think marraige is cool but people should realy look into their hearts when making decisions and ignore what media/parents/people etc have told them... Its all down to the individual... one on one... unless your a pornstar of course heheh

 

Well, it might be a reason - but it certainly doesn't seem ethically or morally valid. If you need "fresh meat", but you have created the expectation of fidelty - then it should be on you to tell your partner that monogamy doesn't float your boat. Then, after you've split up, you can sow your seed with abandon. I agree with a previous post that said there are too many reasons to name, but here are some that seem to occur with much frequency:

insecurity
narcissism
compulsive disorder
depression

I think people cheat because there is something missing in the relationship. Their lover is giving them what they are missing be it companionship or sex. Boredom sometimes play a role. but mostly I think there is something missing.

 

I think pookey had it right, personally. People get bored with each other, I think, and the thought of a little variety turns them on. And there's that subliminal element of illicit, forbidden fruit, too. And of course, the "grass is greener" thing, if they don't feel like they're being taken care of adequately. Lots of reasons, and only their scruples or fear of being caught to hold them back.
