Sen Alan Simpson is one of the very few true conservatives I have ever seen. And back when I was in the newspaper business I had the privilege of interviewing him a few times and several times was one of the reporters who got to question him in his weekly phone interview. In fact the editor of the largest newspaper in the state once asked me how I got selected for the weekly phone in about three times more often than any other reporter in the state. And the answer was pretty simple. Simpson liked me and loved fighting for the under dog. And also because I would always ask him policy questions and stay out of the muck. And back then until this very day the thing I like and respect the most about Simpson is Alan K Simpson will tell you exactly where he stands and what he thinks. And whether or not you like it is of no concern to him.

So this is an example of the classic Simpson who does not suffer fools lightly.

CRASH AND BURN: CNN’s Ratings Just Took a Double-Digit PLUNGE
Breaking News By TF News August 29, 2018
    ShareTweet

    CNN is basically a joke.

They’re only able to stay on the air, thanks to being automatically bundled into every cable package. Otherwise, they’d be long gone by now, especially with their recent DOUBLE-DIP in the ratings.

    Ads by Revcontent
    [IMG]
They’re like “Weekend at Bernie’s” – they’re dead and gone, but still being dragged around by cable companies.

Far-left CNN took double-digit ratings dive in August even as Fox News and MSNBC grew parts of their respective audiences.

Nielsen Media Research reports that perennial ratings loser CNN had a terrible August despite a banner news month, reports the Hill.

While Fox News notched its 200th consecutive month at number one in cable news and gained in primetime viewers (when compared to this same month last year), CNN lost -12 percent of its primetime viewers and a whopping -15 percent of total day viewers.

Fox News averaged 1.3 million total day viewers (down -4 percent) and an incredible 2.3 million primetime viewers (up +4 percent).

MSNBC averaged 1.04 million total day numbers (down -4 percent) and 1.845 million primetime viewers (up +1 percent).

CNN, however, is once again well behind its competition with just 705K total day viewers (down -15 percent) and 1.05 million primetime viewers (down -12 percent), which averages to less than half of Fox’s primetime viewers.

In all of basic cable, Fox was again number one (for the 26th consecutive month), MSNBC was second. CNN, however, came in sixth, behind Fox, MSNBC, HGTV, USA, and the History Channel.

The news was just as bad for CNN in the advertiser-coveted 25-54 age demographic.

During primetime, Fox was down -9 percent in the demo, while both MSNBC and CNN were down -17 percent.

In the total day demo, Fox dropped -17 percent, MSNBC fell -16 percent, and the bottom fell out of CNN with a -24 percent drop.

CNN promoted Chris Cuomo to boost is humiliating primetime ratings but, compared to that time slot last year, the far-left Cuomo is down -12 percent.

CNN’s ongoing credibility and bias problems have no doubt injured the anti-Trump network, but things are probably going to get worse. The biggest story CNN has broken in months — a story about President Trump knowing in advance about the Trump Tower meeting — has imploded on the already-embattled network and is taking one of CNN’s biggest names, Watergate reporter Carl Bernstein, down with it.

The Trump Tower story is not only fake news, Bernstein and his co-authors (including CNN anchor and former Obama official Jim Sciutto) have been caught lying about who their source was.

The CNN story says that Lanny Davis refused to comment on the story, but Davis was a source for the story, a source who is now publicly recanting everything.

Nevertheless, as if to prolong its disgrace, CNN is standing by its fake news rubble, refusing to retract or even comment.

CNN is just as left-wing as MSNBC, but CNN cannot even compete for viewers with MSNBC because 1.) MSNBC is at least honest about its biases; 2.) MSNBC does not have the same mounting credibility problems as CNN; and 3.) MSNBC is better produced than CNN.

After this latest fake news fiasco, the biggest of the year so far in all of the media, CNN’s problems are only going to get worse. No one has deceived the public more during the Trump era than CNN, which is saying a lot, and the last-place network continues to publish and broadcast deceptions in ways both small and consequential.

There is just no question CNN made a play for MSNBC’s Trump-hating audience, but even Trump-haters resent being lied to.

CNN gambled on being the 'anti-Trump' network. It failed
    By Rick Moran
The latest cable TV news ratings are out, and the news is grim for CNN and MSNBC.

Fox News topped MSNBC and CNN combined in the cable news ratings race for the month of October, according to Nielsen Media Research.

Overall, Fox averaged 2.8 million total viewers in prime time, up 25 percent from October 2017. MSNBC placed second in the category, with 1.58 million viewers, while CNN finished third, with 931,000 viewers, during the time period.

In the key 25- to 54-year-old demographic advertisers covet most, CNN fared better than MSNBC, averaging 290,000 viewers to 281,000. Fox News won that category with 540,000 viewers.

The top programs in cable news for October were Fox News's "Hannity," with an average of 3.5 million viewers; "Tucker Carlson Tonight," with 3.23 million; "The Ingraham Angle," with 2.97 million; "The Five," with 2.84 million; and "Special Report with Bret Baier," with 2,668,000.

MSNBC's "Rachel Maddow Show" finished sixth in cable news as that network's highest-rated program. Overall, MSNBC finished fourth in basic cable behind Fox News, TBS and ESPN.

MSNBC bills itself as a progressive alternative to Fox News. But CNN has tried to maintain the fiction that it is an "unbiased" news source. How's that working out, Jeff Zucker?

CNN President Jeff Zucker made an embarrassing admission during an interview with Vanity Fair published Thursday, saying that his network depends on covering President Donald Trump in order to maintain the attention of its audience.

When Zucker broached the question of why CNN spends such an inordinate time covering the president versus other subjects, Zucker said that he is practically dependent on him in order to keep their ratings.

"We've seen that, anytime you break away from the Trump story and cover other events in this era, the audience goes away. So we know that, right now, Donald Trump dominates," Zucker said.

Ironically, Zucker has repeatedly struggled to compete with Fox News and MSNBC, despite his now admitted strategy of obsessing over Trump's every move. While CNN's viewers have grown since the 2016 election, the network still regularly falls behind other news channels.

Earlier in October, CNN even drew fewer viewers than Nickelodeon – and the latest ratings released showed that it had even fallen behind Hallmark Channel made-for-TV movies.

Perhaps CNN could boost its ratings a bit by programming a game show. "Trump Trivia" would probably be a huge hit. It would almost certainly draw more viewers than Wolf Blitzer.

The blatant hostility to Trump by CNN has grown since the beginning of the his presidency to the point now where it is positively unhinged. Led by White House reporter Jim Acosta, CNN on-air talent make little effort to hide their Trump-hate. And they spew it 24-7.

Acosta is a piece of work. His latest from his Twitter feed reveals just how partisan and biased he is.

Note his use of the term "offensive" – an extremely subjective judgment that appears to have infected the groupthink mentality of the media in general. But the point is, this guy is a "journalist." Shouldn't he be letting the audience make up their own minds whether the ad is "offensive" or not? The only way that his followers on Twitter can determine if the ad is "offensive" is if they see it themselves.

Guess not. His followers on Twitter like his dwindling number of viewers on TV should just sit down, shut up, and think as he tells them to.

I find that attitude far more "offensive" than any campaign ad.

So Zucker gambled everything on going anti-Trump all day, every day and has lost. I wonder how long the CNN corporate leadership will put up with these antics.

CNN Didn’t Have One Show in the Top 25 on the Cable News Ratings List
Posted at 6:32 pm on November 12, 2018 by Brandon Morse

The results are in, and CNN isn’t looking so hot.

CNN is an internationally recognized name in news, yet not one of its shows could crack the top 25 in the ratings when compared to its rival networks MSNBC and Fox News.

Taking the most viewed programs, as usual, was Fox News with Hannity leading the pack with 3,064,000 followed by The Five at 2,745,000.

However, a Fox News program didn’t obtain the number one most viewed. That honor belonged to Rachel Maddow of MSNBC who barely squeaked out a victory over Hannity with 3,101,000.

When expanded out, CNN finally hits the list at number 26 in the ratings with Anderson Cooper’s program at 1,423,000. From there, it primarily contends with MSNBC shows, until it hits the 45 with under a million viewers with each show.

Overall, Fox News held the lion’s share of viewers with 44.1 percent of viewers tuning in to watch it from 6 am to midnight. MSNBC came in second 33.6 percent, and CNN brought up the rear with 22.4 percent.

The reasons behind the lack of viewers for CNN could be numerous, but chief among them would probably be the network’s incessant partisan reporting for the left, while it maintains an air of nonpartisanship.

While some would claim it’s CNN’s anti-Trump standpoints that are hurting the network, that can’t necessarily be seen as true. MSNBC is a leftist network that reports news and gives commentary from a leftist perspective and yet it’s more widely watched that CNN.

It’s likely that CNN suffers because CNN is telling its audience to distrust it without flat out saying it. It claims to be centrist, yet spends an inordinate amount of time bashing Trump and the Republicans. Jim Acosta acts like more an activist than a White House reporter, and some of its hosts, like Don Lemon, spout horrible things about Trump supporters and Republican voters.

For many, partisanship isn’t an issue, but dishonesty is. Helped along with highlights from the Trump administration, people aren’t sure they can get actual news from CNN.

Don Lemon Fact Checks Trump’s ‘Lies, Lies, and More Lies’ From Oval Office Border Wall Debate

*And you don't have to take CNN's word for this. Multiple news outlets have fact checked Trump's stupid and outrageous lies on national TV. Proving once again Trump is literallly and clinically mentally ill and totally detached from reality.

Writer touted by CNN as 'Journalist of the Year' forced to resign for fabricating stories
By Lukas Mikelionis | Fox News
    [IMG]
Claas Relotius, a reporter and editor, admitted to fabricating parts of at least 14 stories following the magazine’s investigation. The publication said the issue “marks a low point in the 70-year history of Der Spiegel.”

The German magazine Der Spiegel revealed Wednesday that one of its top award-winning journalists fabricated many of his articles, inventing characters, sources, and their quotes “on a grand scale” for many years.

Claas Relotius, a reporter and editor, admitted to fabricating parts of at least 14 stories following the magazine’s internal investigation. The publication said the issue “marks a low point in the 70-year history of Der Spiegel.”

“I am sick and I need to get help,” he reportedly told the magazine.

“I am sick and I need to get help.”

    — Claas Relotius, former CNN Journalist of the Year
The reporter contributed around 60 articles to Der Spiegel, one of the leading German magazines for investigative reporting. He previously worked for other publications in Europe and won awards such as CNN Journalist of the Year in 2014.

The fabricated articles include a phone interview with the parents of free agent NFL player Colin Kaepernick and a story about an American woman who claims to have volunteered to witness the executions of death row inmates.

Relotius also drew the fury of locals in Fergus Falls, Minn., after spending three weeks in town and fabricating facts, characters and quotes from people in an effort to portray the town in a negative light.

"What happened is beyond what I could have ever imagined: An article titled ‘Where they pray for Trump on Sundays,’ and endless pages of an insulting, if not hilarious, excuse for journalism."

    — Michele Anderson and Jake Krohn
“What happened is beyond what I could have ever imagined: An article titled ‘Where they pray for Trump on Sundays,’ and endless pages of an insulting, if not hilarious, excuse for journalism,” wrote Michele Anderson and Jake Krohn who investigated Relotius’ Der Spiegel article about the town.

Both Anderson and Krohn went on to reveal that the article doesn’t contain any truth except for the town’s population, the average temperature, and names of the businesses or public figures.

Nearly everything else, including a coal plant employee named Neil Becker, who doesn’t actually exist, or quotes from a restaurant employee, who was falsely called the owner of a restaurant and whose son was given a fictional illness, was made up.

Relotius’ work was first called into question in November after another reporter for the magazine worked with him on a story about a border militia in Arizona. The reporter found that the supposed interviews never happened.

The Relotius case resembles past instances where journalists have been caught fabricating stories. Those accused previously have included Stephen Glass, who was fired from the New Republic magazine, Jayson Blair, fired from the New York Times, and Janet Cooke, a Washington Post reporter whose story about a child addicted to heroin won a Pulitzer Price before it was revealed to be a fabrication.

This should not be a surprise.
The despicables have been making up shit about trump and deplorables for years.

And even exposing the lies, the spin and the bigotry won't change a single despicable mind.

It is much easier to fool someone than to convince them they have been fooled.

And notice the laughable desperation of both Fox and CS natureboy that somehow this reflects badly on CNN. When the reality is if Der Spiegel, didn't know he was fabricating things how was CNN supposed to know?

But it is obvious where this is coming from. Fox News has been under attack for being Trump's personal propaganda machine and MSNBC has beaten Fox in the ratings for the past week at least and CNN scoring to good ratings as well. So Fox is panicked and trying to grasp any straws they can to criticize their competition.

Also I don't have the time to list all the Fox contributors who have been disgraced or even the ones who have been proven to be frauds that Fox continues to put on the air even after they were exposed.

The general, if he is indeed a former editor, knows that a reputable media outlet checks every story for accuracy before it publicizes it. No matter who the reporter is. Der Spiegel and CNN owe trump and despicables an apology.

I don't get FOX, nor MSNBC, I do get CNN, and many years ago, I liked it better. Like other stations they are trying to `out scoop' each other, and have to `adjust' their stories down the line. I don't like any station that purports to tell me what `offends' me with out giving details. I do not need a tv `nanny' and I am not a juvenile or border-line adult. People are so gullible! Say a few buzz words and social media selects the intended target, calls it names and slobbers in smugness.

Just a note on ratings once again. Fox News has a very distinct advantage in the ratings game because they attract nearly every conservative in the country. While MSNBC and CNN tend to split all the rest of the audience. But even so it was not all that long ago that Fox News routinely had more viewers every night than MSNBC and CNN combined. But no longer which shows just how much Fox has lost and MSNBC and CNN have gained. And especially now when Rachel Maddow is quite often winning the ratings against Hannity and MSNBC is winning the prime time ratings.

And now let me show you something else that might look like just muck raking at first but is actually very significant right now because part of Trump's defense against campaign finance felonies is that he didn't know he was violating the law. Things like this blow that defense all to shit.
