Good for you. If it's any comfort, though, yours is not the only religion that encourages a certain anti-intellectualism among its adherents. In fact, I would argue that the whole idea of faith is anti-intellectual. The last thing they want is for you to start thinking for yourself. The scriptures even warn about the perils of studying the scriptures too diligently.

Thanks, I'll keep then mind, but that kind of reasoning is faulty. If you mean actual worker bees, well, we can go to a hive and see if the worker bee is there. I'm willing to bet it is. If you mean actual people working 9-5 jobs, well, sure, they may never WANT to meet the CEO, but if he actually wanted to, he could try to contact him, email him, eventually meet him if he insisted enough.

I've never met Obama, does that mean I think he doesnt exist? Of course not. I see him all over the news. If you tell me that there's a man in the white house who's president, that I've never met, I would most likely believe you cause that sounds reasonable, and his existance is pretty obvious. If you told me an invisible entity that exists outside of our universe is there, I'd be a little more skeptical. I'm sure you've heard the phrase, but extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

Honestly, cause of my time as a JW, I do believe there's something out there, something paranormal that may have had something to do with our universe, but its just that, a belief. An irrational one, really, which is why I dont let it affect my life and I dont push it on others. Whether it exists or not, I'll still be a good person to everyone around me. If that's not enough for any possible god that may exist and didnt make his existence a little more obvious, then I tried my best, and that god is a dick.

 

That's....well, unless you have some insider info, you're totally wrong about that. JW's base their end of the world predictions on some confusing number crunching from the bible. Right now, they will claim that Jesus returned invisibly around 1914, and they're convinced by this cause WWI started that year. They got to that number by multiplying and adding a few numbers found in the bible, here and there. The thing is, they start their number crunching at 607 BCE, the destruction of Jerusalem. Now, it would be convicing, except archaeological evidence shows it was destroyed in 586/587 BCE, making the 1914 date incorrect. Tell any JW this, and they will refuse to believe you, the 1914 date is CRITICAL to them.

 

Well, at least that explains why I worship dicks.

Which begs the question....why DOESN'T God ever reveal himself in ways that are obvious to everyone? Instead, he whispers in the ear of this person or that person, and then they relay the message to everyone else, who rightly suspect them of having some screws loose.
