I do understand the appeal of being with someone bigger and stronger and being physically overpowered and taken. OK, I didn't think this would have to be pointed out, due to the internet having so much information on the subject, but here I am: I am going to explain the difference between consensual sex, rape, and rape roleplay (or consensual non-consent).

A small caveat before I begin: I am not a psychologist, lawyer, or any other kind of professional in any field that would matter, this is just my understanding of the subject from many years as a sexually liberated guy that enjoys a lot of different kinds of fucking and doing personal research on numerous related subjects.

Right, here goes:

Consensual sex is when all people involved are able and willing to consent to the sexual penetration with the penis, tongue, fingers, and/or toys and other objects. When everyone involved knows what is generally happening and either gives express consent, or shows implied consent through non-coerced actions. This does not include when someone is under the influence of substances that can impair judgement, like alcohol or drugs.

Rape is a legal term that describes the penetration of the vagina, anus, or mouth, with a penis, without the consent of the person being penetrated. People under the influence of substances, or legally unable to give consent (underage, mentally impaired, unconscious, coerced with threats, etc.) are all considered victims of rape when penetrated by a penis. Rape is less about the sex and more about asserting one's dominance over another in the most extreme manner. For a small number of actual rapists it is about the idea that they deserve sex and it doesn't matter what the victim wants, but this is a minority of cases.

Rape Roleplay, from the "victim's" point of view, is when a person wants to give up control in order to heighten the anticipation of sexual pleasure by adding certain elements of the unknown: When, where, how many others will be involved, etc. It is not the desire to be beaten and fucked and left for dead, as is the case of the idea of rape in a lot of people's minds. The sex is consensual, but the details are removed from the decision making of the "victim".

Rape Roleplay, from the "rapist's" point of view, is the desire to have sexual control over another person, that their wishes are inconsequential, as long as a certain trigger is not present. This trigger is usually a safe word, and as long as the safe word is not used the control is absolute in the mind of the Roleplaying Rapist.
