‘Pathetic’: Trump biographer knocks president after he ‘wins’ golf tournament he didn’t even play in

It was reported Sunday that President Donald Trump’s golf club awarded him the championship for a competition he didn’t even play in. It prompted Trump biographer David Cay Johnston to call him “pathetic” during an interview with MSNBC host Chris Matthews.

“This is pathetic and it tells you a lot about what an empty vessel Donald is,” Johnston said. “Nineteen of his properties he has plaques up of awards he gave himself from a phony hospitality system run by his pal who emcees at Mar-a-Largo every year.”

He added, “Who gives an award to themselves. It is bad enough when we give children awards for showing up but giving an award to yourself, the only word to describe it is pathetic.”

They then talked about Trump boasting about himself playing golf to appeal to voters.

“He’s trying to establish that he’s been accepted and he knows he’s not by a large segment of the population,” Johnston said. “It is the same reason he’s desperate for the approval of the New York Times. And Donald, by the way, is a notorious cheat. I’ve interviewed people who played golf with him.”

Fox’s Shep Smith teams up with John Roberts to fact check the hell out of Trump’s latest rant

On Thursday, Fox News host Shep Smith and John Roberts railed against President Donald Trump after making false claims about his campaign promise to build a wall at the US-Mexico border.

Twelve GOP senators teamed up with Democrats to block Trump’s declaration for a national emergency to circumvent Congress in an attempt to get additional funding for his wall.
“[Trump] asked for $8.7 billion to build the wall. The president insisting this morning as he sat with Ireland’s prime minister that a lot of wall is being built now,” Roberts said.

“The president also said that we’re seeing a record number of people apprehended at the border, which is not a factual statement,” Roberts added.

Smith then clarified that Trump is not actually building new wall at the border.

“The claim of the new wall, that is just inaccurate as well. Anything that is being built is from previous allocations and nothing new because it’s not been approved,” Smith said.

“They’re just replacing the existing wall with new border barrier,” Roberts said.

President Donald Trump’s claims on Tuesday about the late Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) were a “lie,” a former aide to the senator explained to CNN chief White House correspondent Jim Acosta.

“Our country would have saved a trillion dollars, and we would have had great health care. He told us hours before that he was going to repeal and replace and then, for some reason — I think I understand the reason — he ended up going thumbs up,” Trump claimed.

McCain actually gave a thumbs down as he voted against the legislation.

A former McCain aide disputed even more of the president’s account.

“Nope. Never happened,” the former advisor said.

“You’re surprised Trump lied?” the former aide added.

"Conservative" Trump supporters maintain that being a stupid liar is normal for a POTUS. And you must suspend disbelief. Even when Trump doesn't just lie all the time. He also gets caught at just about as often.

BUSTED: Here’s the letter that proves Trump is lying about turning down George Conway for a job

President Donald Trump on Wednesday attacked George Conway, the husband of White House counselor Kellyanne Conway, and claimed that Conway was bitter because the president refused to employ him in his administration.

“George Conway, often referred to as Mr. Kellyanne Conway by those who know him, is VERY jealous of his wife’s success and *angry that I, with her help, didn’t give him the job he so desperately wanted,” the president wrote on Twitter. “I barely know him but just take a look, a stone cold LOSER and husband from hell!”

However, a letter sent by Conway to Trump in May 2017 shows that Trump is lying about what really happened.

The letter, which was obtained by the Washington Post, backs up Conway’s claim that he was the one who turned down a position at the Justice Department, not the other way around.

“I am profoundly grateful to you and to the Attorney General for selecting me to serve as Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Division of the Department of Justice,” Conway wrote to Trump in the letter. “I have reluctantly concluded, however, that, for me and my family, this is not the right time for me to leave the private sector and take on a new role in the federal government.”

Trump Lies About Funding Great Lakes Initiative His Budget Proposes to Cut

President Donald Trump lied about government funding for the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative, as he told a crowd at his rally last night that he intervened to provide the funds when the Obama administration had done so for years.

“I’m going to get, in honor of my friends, full funding of $300 million for the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative, which you have been trying to get for over 30 years,” Trump said toe in a local pander to the Grand Rapids, Michigan crowd.

While the audience gave Trump cheers and applause, the Obama administration began funding the restoration project in 2010 with yearly amounts of $300-$450 million.

Per the New York Times, Trump attempted to ax the Great Lakes initiative entirely in his proposed budget last year, but Congress opted to keep the funding in place. The president’s 2019 budget request suggests slashing the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative by 90 percent, cutting the amount to just $30 million a year.

“The special counsel completed its report and found no collusion and no obstruction,” he claimed at one point. “Total exoneration, complete vindication.”

However, this was another lie from the president.

Attorney General William Barr‘s summary of Robert Mueller‘s findings specifically stated that Trump is not exonerated from obstruction: “The Special Counsel states that ‘while this report does not conclude that the President committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him.'”

The whispers have existed for decades that President Donald Trump is a prolific golf cheat. In a new book, the case is made that the president’s cheating — in a game whose players pride themselves on strict adherence to the rules — goes far beyond simple scorecard fudging.

The book Commander in Cheat: How Golf Explains Trump — by former Sports Illustrated and ESPN writer Rick Reilly — purports that the president is a complete fraud on the links. The charade, according to Reilly, starts with the president’s handicap — the number of strokes above par which one averages per round. Trump claims to be a 2.8. To put this in perspective, if he were to shave just 1.4 strokes per round off of his average, the President would be eligible to qualify for the U.S. Open — the second-most prestigious golf tournament in the world.

But according to Reilly (via the New York Post), Trump’s handicap is complete nonsense.

“If Trump is a 2.8, Queen Elizabeth is a pole vaulter,” Reilly wrote.

Back in November 2017, we published a post in which we expressed deep skepticism that the president and retired fifty-something golf pro Brad Faxon played to a draw in a match against Tiger Woods and top-ranked golfer Dustin Johnson. Turns out, we were on the money. Faxon admitted to Reilly that Trump cheated in the match.

On one hole, Trump dunked a shot into the lake, but as his opponents weren’t looking he simply dropped another ball — and then hit that into the water, too.

“So he drives up and drops where he should’ve dropped the first time and hits it on the green,” recalls Faxon.

It is bad enough to cheat to improve one’s own score in golf. It is far worse to sabotage another player. But Reilly documented at least one instance of Trump apparently doing this. NBC sportscaster Mike Tirico said, recalling a round he played with Trump, he once hit a shot and couldn’t see where it landed, but knew it was very close to the hole. But when he got up to the green, Tirico found his ball in a nearby bunker.

But Tirico claims Trump’s caddy said the ball hadn’t actually landed in the sand trap.

“Trump’s caddy came up to me and said, ‘You know that shot you hit on the par 5?’” Tirico told Reilly “‘It was about 10 feet from the hole. Trump threw it in the bunker. I watched him do it.’”

Then, there was the time the President was caught driving a golf course onto the putting green — a major no-no.

Golf is a game which lives on rules. Based on this new book, and the other available evidence, it appears there isn’t one which Trump won’t break.

Trump rants he’s given $91 billion to Puerto Rico — but FEMA disagrees

President Donald Trump ranted about Puerto Rico and complaints that he hasn’t funded hurricane relief for the U.S. territory to the degree that it was necessary.

According to Trump, he’s spent $91 billion on Puerto Rico and they’ve scored significantly more than other states, like Texas and Florida. It’s not only a lie, but Trump’s own government also refutes the facts.

“The Democrats today killed a Bill that would have provided great relief to Farmers and yet more money to Puerto Rico despite the fact that Puerto Rico has already been scheduled to receive more hurricane relief funding than any ‘place’ in history,” Trump tweeted Monday night. “The people of Puerto Rico are GREAT, but the politicians are incompetent or corrupt. Puerto Rico got far more money than Texas & Florida combined, yet their government can’t do anything right, the place is a mess – nothing works. FEMA & the Military worked emergency miracles, but politicians like the crazed and incompetent Mayor of San Juan have done such a poor job of bringing the Island back to health. 91 Billion Dollars to Puerto Rico, and now the Dems want to give them more, taking dollars away from our Farmers and so many others. Disgraceful!”

FEMA submitted a full report on how much has been given to Puerto Rico, putting the number closer to $3 billion. According to a Congressional aide in 2017, the island will likely need $30 billion to fully recover.

Trump’s comment is close to what he told Republicans in a closed-door meeting last week. He claimed that Puerto Rico, which was hit by two hurricanes back to back, got more money than Texas and Florida.

An extensive study outlined how much more the continental U.S. states scored more than the island. Trump doesn’t even agree that 3,000 people were killed in Puerto Rico due to the hurricanes.

NYT reporter hilariously busts Trump for shamelessly lying about her work

President Donald Trump on Wednesday once again attacked the New York Times for accurately reporting on his actions — and then got called out for lying by reporter Maggie Haberman.

*In a Wednesday morning tweet, Trump claimed that he had never wanted for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to have a vote on a new health care bill before the 2020 presidential election, and he blamed the Times for any confusion about this issue.

“I never asked Mitch McConnell for a vote before the Election as has been incorrectly reported (as usual) in the [New York Times], but only after the Election when we take back the House etc,” Trump wrote. “Republicans will always support pre-existing conditions!”

In response to this, Haberman simply wrote, “We quoted McConnell.”

In the original Times story, which was coauthored by Haberman and Robert Pear, McConnell told the publication that the president had backed off some of his health care ambitions after he made it clear that no Obamacare replacement would come up in the Senate before the 2020 election.

“I made it clear to him that we were not going to be doing that in the Senate,” the Kentucky senator told the Times. “He did say, as he later tweeted, that he accepted that and that he would be developing a plan that he would take to the American people during the 2020 campaign.”

*And that is another factor all to itself. It is common for politicians to flip flop on issues. But Trump doesn't just flip flop. He bounces like a fucking pinball. Trump against the advice of high ranking membe3rs of his administration ordered the DOJ to join a lawsuit trying to declare the ACA unconstitutional. Then when it because overwhelming that ending the ACA without a replacement would be one of the biggest political disasters in history Trump says the Senate is working on the replacement. And then when the Republicans in the Senate say they are not touching any replacement leading up to the 2020 election Trump suddenly pivots again and claims he actually has a secret plan for replacing the ACA but he can't tell anyone about until after the election. All this because he couldn't just keep his fucking mouth shut in the first place.

Because we are all under the thumb of a mad king.

On Wednesday, in response to President Donald Trump’s repeated, peculiar lie that his New York City-born father was born in Germany, CNN’s Erin Burnett invited former Trump casino chief operating officer Jack O’Donnell to explain his former business associate’s compulsive need to make false statements.

“Can I ask you a question?” said Burnett. “Just why?”

“Listen, he’s pathological,” said O’Donnell. “We know this. We’ve seen it not just since he announced for the president, but he’s been this way ever since I’ve known him 28 years ago, so I do think it’s part of who he is. He’s compulsive … this is just part of his pathology, quite frankly.”

“You said, Jack, that Trump’s lying is what made you quit working for him,” Burnett pressed him. “Why is that? How pervasive was it, even years ago?”

“The best way I can explain it is if you were to sit down and have dinner with him for an hour, I can promise you there’s going to be 10 to 15 lies during that one-hour period,” said O’Donnell. “It’s just constant with him, and in my situation, it really became, for my own moral compass, I felt, I began to question it just being around his lies so often, and when I finally hit a breaking point it was very personal for me. He was lying about two friends that had died in order to cover some of his bad management, and that was the straw for me.”

“I think that part of the high turnover rate that he has both in his business and both at the White House today, I think it revolves around the lying and the dishonesty, because eventually, that wears people out,” O’Donnell concluded.

On Tuesday, Fox News host Shep Smith fact-checked President Donald Trump after he blamed former President Barack Obama for the current immigration crisis.

Smith slammed Trump by saying that he needs to explain why the president’s “rhetoric” does not match “reality.”

Obama separated the children, just so you understand. President Obama separated the children,” Trump said. “The cages that were shown, very inappropriate, they were built by President Obama and the Obama administration –not by Trump,” the president told reporters.

“President Trump has made similar claims before. Following are the facts.” Smith said.

Adding, “It’s undeniably true that the roots of this issue stretched back many years. In 2005, President George W. Bush launched operation streamline to arrest, imprison and deport those here illegally.”

“Fox News research shows officials gave children a pass. President Obama continued the operation. However, the Obama Administration tended to keep families together. There were exceptions, but it was not the policy to separate,” he said.

“After President Trump issued the zero tolerance order, officials did separate children from their parents. Some families have not yet been reunited. President Trump spoke about cages. It is true that some of the photos circulating online showed children kept in chain-linked enclosures during the Obama Administration. For instance, this photo is from 2014. In that year, the Obama Administration saw a surge in children and families from Central America. They started jailing families together as family units,” he said.

Smith said, “The Trump Administration did separate families. The Trump Department of Homeland Security estimates more than 2,300 children had been separated from their families by last spring. The Trump Administration did detain children in cages. An unknown number of those children are still not back with their families. President Trump said today he is not reinstating his own child separation policy.”

CNN’s Jim Sciutto pressed Kellyanne Conway on President Donald Trump‘s falsehoods he stated during the presidential campaign in a heated interview Wednesday.

“I want to talk about everything. To get to your point about it’s been litigated in the election. I’ve heard you make this point and others. The president lied during the election, as you know, he lied about birtherism, lied about Muslims celebrating 9/11 in New Jersey and others and, yes he was elected,” Sciutto said. “Does that give him license to then share falsehoods while he is president? Does the election give you license to do whatever you did during the campaign?”

“That’s a lot of opinionating about the campaign,” Conway replied. “So, focus on my work here at the White House, since you want to talk about the 2016 campaign since you brought it up, I certainly didn’t because I never have to talk about it again, winning finishes all the sentences.”

“It’s Hillary Clinton who had a 62 percent number of people saying that they thought she was not honest or trustworthy and it hurt her in the election,” she continued. “We as a country certainly want to elect the first female president, but not one who has a difficult relationship with the truth. And so that certainly was decided by the electors, but this president ran —“

“I can recite the number of times the president has demonstrated his difficult relationship with the truth, but we don’t have time for that,” Sciutto interjected.

“Look, if you think that’s your job as a reporter then go for it, but I think my job here is to work every day on policy that helps improve the lives of Americans and we do have record low unemployment among millions of Americans,” Conway shot back. “We have growth over four percent. We have unemployment under four percent. This matters to people.”

I wonder, had Trump not looked over O'Donnell and gave O'Donnell that key position in the Trump organization that O'Donnell was eyeing for, would O'Donnell still be working for the Trump organization?

Seems that this O'Donnell character has a case of the red ass towards Trump.
