Trump Campaign Says They Didn't Pick Up Supporters' Lunch Tabs Because No One Ordered Anything
Story by Virginia Chamlee • Yesterday 2:04 PM

Aspokesperson for the Trump campaign told PEOPLE that when the former president left a Miami restaurant this week, after promising "food for everyone," attendees "followed him outside and did not place orders themselves."

Donald Trump's campaign is pushing back against reports that he left a recent visit to a Miami restaurant without picking up his supporter's tabs, saying that the visit was so brief that no one ordered anything.

Trump made a surprise visit to Miami's famed Cuban restaurant Versailles following his historic arraignment on Tuesday.

In footage of the appearance, Trump can be seen shaking hands and taking photos before shouting, "Food for everyone!"

But the Miami New Times reports that the former president — who turned 77 on Wednesday — stayed for only about ten minutes, leaving none of his fans with time to order any food or drinks.

"It turns out no one got anything. Not even a cafecito to-go," the New Times reports, citing a source that says the visit was so brief it left no time for food.
A trump spokesperson told PEOPLE: "President Trump was very enthused and very appreciative to the family at Versailles Restaurant for welcoming him this week. At the end of President Trump’s visit he offered to buy food for the group of attendees inside the restaurant, but when President Trump left, the attendees followed him outside and did not place orders themselves. Campaign advance team members paid for the to-go meals purchased, and there were no unpaid tabs. President Trump looks forward to returning soon!”

The surprise appearance at Versailles came moments after the former television personality pleaded not guilty to 37 criminal offenses after being indicted by a federal grand jury last week.

The charges against the former president include 31 counts of willful retention of national defense information (a violation of the Espionage Act); one count of conspiracy to obstruct justice; one count of withholding a document or record; one count of corruptly concealing a document or record; one count of concealing a document in a federal investigation; one count of scheme to conceal; and one count of false statements and representations.

Each of the charges carries potential prison sentences, with the obstruction charges carrying a maximum sentence of 20 years per count. Violating the Espionage Act carries a maximum sentence of up to 10 years, and both the conspiracy and false statements charges carry sentences of up to five years per offense.

The federal indictment stems from an Aug. 8 search of the former president's Mar-a-Lago home by the FBI as part of a criminal investigation that began after the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) revealed in February 2022 that officials had removed 15 boxes of documents from the property that should have been handed over at the end of his presidency.

First all Trump and his campaign does is lie. But what is so laughable is this still proves it was just a phony Trump scam. Invite his supporters to eat and he will pay and then run away before any of them can even order anything. Trump is no longer president but he remains Liar In Chief.

Attaboy. You keep on banging that "get trump no matter what" drum. Everyone understands that you won't look at facts or hear anything but "Orange man bad".
You have no influence left in the matter of Donald Trump.

Not really a question of anyone ordered anything, they left after 10 minutes, and no one had a chance to order.

Are you saying Trump didn't say "food for everyone"?

Hahaha, even your own article says they had no one time to order...

Did you see the part where they paid for whatever to go orders had been placed? Did you read and comprehend shooters post? Did you care about anything but crafting another smarmy troll reply?

So what, in your world, they needed to lock the doors and not let anyone leave until they ordered?

Ah. Forgot we're dealing with despicables. Free means GI.ME FREE SHIT YOU PROMISED!!

See, a deplorable isn't there for free shit, they're there to support a candidate. Unlike despicables one doesn't have to pay them to get them to attend.

More psychological projection. It was Trump that spent 4 years demanding the DOJ go after his political enemies and had an attorney general that obliged. They even appointed John Durham to try and find anything he could and even after nearly 4 years came up empty.

In Trump's case it actually started when he was still president when he was told by the National Archives and his own White Counsel they were aware he was hoarding documents and it would be a crime if he took them out of the White House.

Trump claims Biden pressed DOJ to create ‘fake indictment’ in latest attack

Former President Trump claimed on Saturday that President Biden pushed the Justice Department to bring a “fake indictment” against him over his handling of classified materials.

“Crooked Joe Biden pressed deranged Jack Smith to do this fake indictment on me,” Trump said in a video posted to Truth Social, alleging that the president is using the indictment as a distraction.

Trump pleaded not guilty on Tuesday to 37 counts related to his alleged mishandling of classified documents. The indictment, which was unsealed last week, accused the former president of improperly retaining national defense information, sharing it with individuals who did not have proper security clearances and blocking the federal government’s efforts to recover the documents.

Trump and his Republican allies have repeatedly accused the Justice Department and Biden administration as a whole of targeting the former president in an effort to damage his 2024 campaign.

“This is called election interference in yet another attempt to rig and steal a presidential election,” Trump said in a speech after his arraignment on Tuesday. “It’s a political persecution like something straight out of a fascist or communist nation.”

“This day will go down in infamy and Joe Biden will forever be remembered as the most corrupt president in the history of our country,” he added.

However, Biden and his aides have emphasized in recent days that they have had no contact with special counsel Jack Smith or Attorney General Merrick Garland in the case.

“You’ll notice I have never once, not one single time, suggested to the Justice Department what they should do or not do, relative to bringing a charge or not bringing a charge. I’m honest,” Biden said last week.

    Lets see.
If the reports are correct, the "Biden took bribes" story was in the hands of the FBI while Trump was in office. They even started investigating.
Working from the despicable premise that "Trumps FBI and DOJ" had been weaponized by Trump's administration to get his political enemies", Trump had the perfect opportunity to go after not only Biden, but the entire Biden family AND Obama's legacy.
All he had to do was release the FBI and DOJ with instructions to "get Biden/Obama no matter what it takes".

    So, why didn't he?

    Possible reasons;
    1) Trump wasn't aware of the allegations.
    2) Trump had no power over the FBI/DOJ to force them to go after Biden/Obama
    3) Some other forces were in play to make Trump decline the opportunity.
    4) Trump was too damn stupid to see the opportunity.

    So lets take em one at a time;
    1) Trump wasn't aware of the allegations.
Very possible. The FBI gets literally millions of tips and informant allegations. It wouldn't be possible for any one person to keep track of all of them. But wait, working from the premise that Trump had weaponized the FBI/DOJ to get his enemies, it is literally impossible that the form 1023 was created and a preliminary investigation done without someone alerting the powers who in turn would alert Trump. The problem with this scenario is that it destroys the despicable allegation that Trump had the DOJ go after his political enemies and had an attorney general that obliged. Unacceptable.
    2) Trump had no power over the FBI/DOJ to force them to go after Biden/Obama
The most likely scenario that fits the facts. We can be sure, if Trump was aware of the allegations and the source, he'd have been tweeting away and forcing the FBI/DOJ hand. Biden wasn't in office and had no legal protection from an investigation. A perfect situation for Trump. The problem with this scenario is that it destroys the despicable allegation that Trump had the DOJ go after his political enemies and had an attorney general that obliged. Unacceptable.
    3) Some other forces were in play to make Trump decline the opportunity.
And what, pray tell, could those forces be? Perhaps Trump knew there wasn't anything there? He was doing it "right"? Putin told him to back off? He didn't want to face the despicable outrage of a president going after "their man"? Come on! If Trump had this information he would not be able to turn away from the opportunity.
    4) Trump was too damn stupid to see the opportunity.
Sure. The man won the oval office in the face of half the country bent on denying him. Trump played the media like a violin, created a very successful campaign even as the Federal Government worked to destroy it, and out ran and out maneuvered his enemies. And he's done that for most of his life.
The bottom line is that the despicable suggestion that Trump had a weaponized FBI/DOJ under his thumb is proven false because of the Biden bribery 1023. Reasonable minds will be able to understand this. Despicable minds, especially American hating despicable minds, will twirl and froth and stamp their feet.
    No matter.
    Carry on.

Yeah, I get it. Not unlike 99% of your other verbal diarrhea...

And don't pretend he didn't do it because it would appear political, we have to laugh at you, as Trump has already told us he will go after his political opponents on his first day back in office. Stop putting Trump on a pedestal.

Well, Shooter hasn't done that at all, has he?
In fact Shooter has gone on record saying that Trump cannot win the oval office, or any elected office, ever again.
You know he's said that several times and he just said it again, didn't Shooter?
So how is that putting Trump on a pedestal?

And apparently you like answering rhetorical questions, so lets carry this on.

You appear to have eliminated item 3 on the list, leaving two scenarios that are based on the illogical assumption that Trump weaponized the DOB/FBI to get his political enemies, and Trump was too damn stupid to see the opportunity.
Do you have one scenario you like more than the others?

Not everything is about you... I was talking about Trump.
Still not a denouncement of his using his office for political attacks.
Blah, blah, blah, still not denouncing Trump threatening to use his office for political attacks.
Because you allow him to make such threats, and that's the very thing the right is accusing the left of...

    I won't hold my breath...

Trump will be the GOP nominee. That's a forgone conclusion. It's no longer the GOP, it's now the trumplican party. But I agree, Trump won't stand a chance at winning a national election in 2024. That ship has sailed.

But it will take this one last loss to finally relegate Trump to the "Ash heap of history"
