  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

Once again you prove you actually know more about American history than most Americans. I didn't know until fairly recently myself that the US was massively isolationist and wasn't willing to lift a finger to help Europe and especially the UK which was also fighting Japan as well as Germany. About the only one who could see the handwriting on the wall and how dire it was was Franklin Roosevelt and he did manage to sneak "lend lease" through but even that had a duel purpose. He wanted to help England but he also saw war was inevitable and lend lease helped get our manufacturing ready to produce war materials. And then FDR had to lie through his teeth for his next campaign for president claiming he had no intention of getting us into another war in Europe. And if he hadn't he wouldn't have been re-elected. And even then he couldn't get backing in congress to enter the war until Japan attacked us. Then we declared war on Japan but not on Germany until after they declared war on us. And the real turning point of the whole war in Europe was when Hitler turned around and attacked Russia and had to fight on two fronts at once. If Hitler had not brought Russia into the war in might have been a different out come.

And then we are all proud of helping to rebuild Europe after the war with the "Marshal Plan." But what isn't so well known is the Marshal Plan didn't have much backing either until Marshal sold it to corporate America basally saying "What are you guys kidding. Can't you see we are going to make a killing on this. It will make us all rich." And it did.

Wow , refreshing to hear some truth of the reality . (Stumbler)

More of the truth , had Britain not stood strong , as an Island Fortress ,
with the help if here REAL allies and
    Empire ,
America may well have had to fight Germany on their own coast and beaches.
Especially as in that event , Hitler likely would not have made the huge mistake of attacking Russia ,
and getting boged in frozen winter Russian bogs.

Fools forget history at their peril.

So let's see how the chumps ignorant isolationism works out ,
if he continues , this time.

Alternative truths and histories will not help him.
He doesn't have a war torn friendly continent to profit from ,
and the the Russians have stolen his thunder where he might have ,
    if he'd had a clue.

In all honesty the bulk of my education on World War II comes from watching the old BBC documentary series The World At War. And I believe every human on earth should be required to watch the entire thing. Because if they did humans would never go to war again. It is otherwise impossible to imagine how terrible it really was until you see it.

And if Britain had fallen the US would have been next because we would have been fighting Japan on our west coast and Germany on our east coast and there wouldn't have been anyone left to help us. It was also a race to see who could develop nuclear weapons first and had we hesitated much more it would have been Germany who got their hands on the bomb first.

Also one of the strange things that has been documented just recently is the entire war might have come down to Hitler being a methamphetamine addict who like any tweeker got hung up on the name Stalingrad and wasted his army trying to take that one city instead of going after Russia's oil fields.

So as you say its absolutely vital we know our history and heed it.

Memwith Hill is an old base , as you say- but it is still a US base for the US. The UK does have its own similar base at Fylingdales just a bit further north. As you say both are older generation systems and have been replaced by satellites etc. The US does not do everything on its own and your Signals intel monitoring receives significant input from our GCHQ in Cheltenham, plus also your Seals work closely ( and often together with) our SAS. THE MESSAGE IS THAT WE ARE STRONGER TOGETHER THAN ALONE

With technology they way it is today there is no reason for the U.S. to have bases in other countries.
We have satellites that can tell us every movement of almost every person on earth.
We can listen to almost every conversation in any country.
We can destroy the military of any country in a matter of hours.

Why do we need bases in other countries?

No worry about Fat Kim then .
      Phew , that's a relief.

Donny can destroy his entire military
      within hours,
and he can call all the military home from all foreign bases.

      That's a huge relief.

But what happened in Iran , Syria and Afghanistan ?
      OOPS
not supposed to ask those questions.
      Just blindly believe.
      Everything will be alright.
      Don't worry , be happy.

That isn't likely to happen anytime soon. Though we have problems, where else can they safely park all those billions? If there was something better than US Bonds for safety they would use it right now.

    Fuck them.

      Why yes, the evil empire.
The empire that is first with humanitarian aid.
The empire that is first at the scene after a disaster to help.

Focus instead on what we do that every other country (including yours) does. Just call it something negative and demonize it.
You know, just to get a reaction from someone.
      No matter.

None of these are things that any European government, nor most other governments in the world, do. Typically, they're only done in dictatorships and authoritarian regimes.

Whilst I hate to agree with the above statements, they are undeniably true and accurate. Sadly throughout history all great powers abuse their position, we (the UK) in our Colonial days did the same and probably worse. The way we (the West) have divided up nations after major conflicts is tantamount to dictatorship, placing puppet rulers in charge and enslaving the indigenous populations..People always say "Ah the good old days" I can never quite figure out what was so good about them..Mankind has much to hang its head in shame about and sadly we have still not learned our lesson.

Very clever when you think it through.

You're taking over as the worlds biggest trading nation.
    So.
You invest in the worlds established
    trading currency ,
until you own a huge slice of it's backbone.
    Now
you have a deal of the future control of that currency ,
    until ,
    eventually,
    inevitably , you won't need it ,
and if you want , start selling it down ,
and buying whatever you want as it goes.

Oh look , you can trade those old useless US dollars for these new HK yen.
we can use them in our new version of the monopoly game.
    :)

I turned down being in the presidential security service when I was leaving the military.
I was ready to become a civilian. Wasn't interested in any offers.

This is a very simplistic view of WW2. The US was involved for a short time period, compared to the other Allied Nations, but it was the critical time. The US was the only country on Earth which had unassailable industries and excess capacity. Factories and workers that were idled since the depression were ready to go to work. If not for US investment in the European war, the course of history would be much different. Opinions vary, but it's pretty certain that Russia would have eventually ground Germany down, leaving Britain as a lonely outpost, under siege by U-boats.

Our war was with Japan, and even then, we could have fought in the Pacific until Japan was pushed back, and then signed an armistice which returned the Philippines and to us. Kind of a one and done strategy. Instead, we sent troops and material to Europe. As for prosperity, the US war effort resulted in a Europe in which no one has invaded their neighbor in over 70 years, If you look at European history, that's actually kind of remarkable.

President Trump has reportedly called British Prime Minister May and cancelled his anticipated trip to England in October. It was further reported that the trip may not be rescheduled for another two years.
