Donald Trump may be a Manchurian Candidate. He used to be a registered Democrat.

Maybe, like a lot of us, he got so sick of the antics of the Republican Party that he decided to run in the Republican presidential primary with the hope of being elected president, so that he could do serious damage to the GOP.

Trump may be a lot smarter than we suspect. His adolescent Tweets and his symptoms of mental illness may be a ruse to achieve his real goal.

If this is true, let me say, "Thank you, Mr. President. It is working out according to your plan."

I want the Democrats to win so much that we get tired of winning.

Fortunately in the scheme of things , in world terms , he's a temporary anomaly.
You guys habitually start wars that last longer than presidents are allowed to


After DT , the US will either rejoin the world stage , or continue to be more isolationist , and less relevant in it.
Whichever , the world will carry on.

The measure of the infamy he will be remembered for , is yet to be determined.
I guess the worst could be as the provocateur of a nuclear holocaust.

 

And here's another thing I have noticed lately. Every time I see a big Democratic victory I see DNC Chairman Tom Perez right in the middle of it and he is saying the things I really want to hear. Just like last night. He was down in Alabama last night pointing out he and the DNC had been there for months, helping organize the state party, conducting a massive grass roots effort to get people registered to vote and make sure they got to the polls, And they especially were hitting the black communities hard and building enthusiasm for Doug Jones. And it paid off bigger than anyone dreamed of.

Not too many people saw this upset coming but Perez said they did because the had concentrated on their ground game and got out there and did the work. And as Perez also pointed out they have not just been doing this in Alabama or elections for the House, Senate, or Governor. They have also been hitting state elections hard and pulled off a lot of other Democratic victories in deep red states.

I could not be more encouraged to see that after Debbie Wassermann Schultz and Hillary Clinton just blew it in 2016 and nearly took the Democratic Party down with them. I didn't know Perez and didn't have much confidence in him when he first took the reins. But I am impressed with him now and really happy to see what he is doing to rebuild the party.

And here's another example. I've seen a couple anchors now try to spring a gotcha question on him asking Well you got Jones elected but he is actually a pretty moderate Democrat that might actually vote with Trump and the Republicans on some things. What about that? And both times Perez answered; "I have known Doug Jones for 20 years and of course he is not going to vote in lock step with the Democrats every time. Jones was elected to serve the people of Alabama and do what he believes is best for them. And that is what he is going to do and I have no problem with that."

Which again is the attitude we need to win.

 

I try to always keep a positive attitude in everything I do, but it gets really hard to do 100% of the time. It takes it toll after while. I can only imagine how hard it is for the Democrats to do.
