In a featured Easter morning piece, the editorial board of the Boston Globe called on members of Donald Trump COVID-19 task force to come forward and reveal what went on behind the scenes that help lead to over 500,000 American deaths and the wrecking of the economy.

Writing that the Democratic-contyro0lled Congress needs to hold hearsing, the editorial began, "Yes, Donald Trump made their jobs nearly impossible. Still, the doctors, scientists, and officials who contributed to the bungling of the initial response to COVID-19 last year owe the public much more now than just their recent self-serving efforts to salvage their reputations. Americans have suffered, and continue to suffer, an almost unimaginable tragedy that erupted on the previous administration's watch. The nation needs an independent accounting of how the richest and most scientifically advanced country in the world ended up in this horror show, an inquiry in which every former member of the Trump administration should cooperate."

Noting that the current "post-mortem" of the Trump administration's handling of the health crisis seems to be made up entirely of "score settling," the board insisted all of the facts need to come out.

"There is no doubt, of course, that the primary responsibility for mishandling the crisis rests with the former president himself, who set the tone of denialism, wishful thinking, and incompetence that pervaded the federal response from the beginning," they wrote. "Over the last four years, competent officials across the federal government have had to search their conscience in the same way as the medical team, wondering whether staying in government amounted to complicity or whether leaving would only have made the Trump presidency worse."

The editorial went on, "But if the former Trump officials want Americans to believe they were fighting the good fight from the inside and rebuffing the president's worst instincts, there's no room for secrecy or spin now. They should be leading the charge for Congress to create an investigation to document exactly how the failures of the last year happened, and how they can be avoided in the future."

Newly released emails show that Trump administration officials openly celebrated after they successfully meddled to get the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to downplay the risks of the novel coronavirus.

The Washington Post reports that former Trump science adviser Paul Alexander wrote an email to then-HHS public affairs chief Michael Caputo in which he boasted about getting the CDC to back off language in two different reports that he believed painted too dire of a picture of the COVID-19 crisis.

"Pointing to one change -- where CDC leaders allegedly changed the opening sentence of a report about spread of the virus among younger people after Alexander pressured them -- Alexander wrote to Caputo, calling it a 'small victory but a victory nonetheless and yippee!!!'" the Post reports.

Alexander also told Caputo about how he teamed up with Trump adviser Dr. Scott Atlas to alter a CDC weekly report on coronavirus-related deaths among young Americans.

The emails also show Alexander and Caputo wanted to cook up numbers on the alleged spike in suicides that were occurring during the pandemic, despite the fact that the number of suicides in the United States in 2020 actually fell by 6 percent.

"We need solid estimates to be able to say something like: 50,000 more cancer deaths! 40,000 more heart attacks! 25,000 more suicides!" Caputo wrote.

Michigan GOP Leader Rages After Catching COVID at Near-Maskless MAGA Meeting

A top official in the Michigan Republican Party has been left fuming after being forced to attend a near-maskless meeting inside a restaurant—then ending up in a hospital with a severe case of COVID-19. Jason Watts, the treasurer of his local GOP committee, told Michigan Live that he was required to go to the March 31 party meeting because officials were mulling whether to fire him after he criticized Donald Trump in the pages of The New York Times. He recounted entering the meeting, seeing just two people out of around 70 wearing masks, and commented: “I felt like I was going into a den of virus.” After the meeting, he tested positive for the virus, and is still recovering in a hospital two weeks later. “A mask shouldn’t have a political party,” Watts said. “A vaccine shouldn’t have a political party, but we’ve conjured these things to have these connotations.” Watts said at least six people who attended the meeting have fallen sick.

Florida company peddling bogus 'miracle' bleach cure for COVID-19 on Facebook and Amazon

A Florida company is peddling a notorious industrial bleach solution as a "miracle cure" for new variants of the coronavirus.

Chlorine dioxide, a dangerous chemical compound used in textile and paper manufacturing, has previously been marketed as a cure for cancer, HIV/AIDS and even autism, and now Miami-based Oclo Nanotechnology Science is making the so-called "miracle mineral solution" in a makeshift laboratory and selling it as a cure for COVID-19, reported The Guardian.

"B117 [is a] new variant of coronavirus, the most contagious and dangerous in the United States," the company states in advertising copy. "Rescuing chlorine dioxide and its great curative potential against pathogens."

The Food and Drug Administration warns the bleach product is potentially dangerous and possibly life-threatening, and the agency has tried to shut down other efforts to market the chemical as a COVID-19 treatment throughout the pandemic.

The FDA previous took down the Florida-based Genesis II "church" that sold MMS as a "sacrament" to cure the deadly virus, and "bishop" Mark Grenon and his four sons are jailed in Miami and Colombia awaiting extradition to the U.S. on fraud conspiracy and other charges.

Oclo is run by Cuba native Ricardo Garcia, a self-described "research and development scientist" and real estate agent.

He's also offering via social media and online marketplaces to transport bleach in enema form to Europe for $680 per liter as a treatment for autism.

The Guardian contacted those tech companies about Garcia's products, and eBay blocked the Oclo page within hours, although Amazon described the company as an "independent business" subject to site policies and Facebook did not reply.

Trump hit with $1 trillion lawsuit over massive COVID-19 death toll in America

Arnett Thomas is a convicted murderer who had spent two decades in prison before being released in 2000. Now 71-years-old and living in government housing, the New Jersey resident is suing Donald Trump over the massive death toll from coronavirus, NewJersey.com reports.

"The former president literally became the very domestic enemy to the Constitution he swore to defend," Thomas wrote in his lawsuit that now includes more than 75 co-plaintiffs.

"The point of all of this is how Trump dealt with the pandemic. He drove people to dying," Thomas said, who is seeking $1 trillion from Trump as a punishment for the nearly 570,000 deaths in America. He also suing for the "ancillary economic and psychological problems for many others who lost jobs or fell into a deep depression from too much home confinement," according to NewJersey.com.

Thomas wrote the lawsuit himself without the help of an attorney, and he's looking for one to take on his case.

"It's not exactly the sort of game plan that usually succeeds in the heady atmosphere of a federal courtroom — or, for that matter, even in the more pedestrian setting of a local traffic court," writes NewJersey.com's Mike Kelly. "But Thomas' legal crusade is significant nonetheless. It reflects the deep-seeded anger at Trump's behavior during the COVID-19 pandemic — especially in Thomas' African-American community in Orange and Newark."

One of the lawsuit's co-plaintiffs, 21-year-old Kyani Robinson, says that everything Trump has done since being president "has been really shady and all backwards and messed up."

"Trump allowed the disease to spread," Thomas added. "What he did was politically motivated. If Trump would have handled this pandemic in a proper way he would have been elected [again]. Trump got kicked out because of the way he handled it."

Oklahoma stuck with over a million hydroxychloroquine doses after Trump-hyped drug proved to be a bust

Last year, former President Donald Trump regularly hyped up hydroxychloroquine, an anti-malarial drug that studies have repeatedly shown to be ineffective at treating the novel coronavirus.

Following the president's lead, many Republican governors invested big in the drug, and are now stuck with unused doses after the Food and Drug Administration revoked its emergency use authorization for treating COVID patients.

One such state was Oklahoma -- and as Oklahoma Watch reports, the state has an estimated 1.2 million doses of hydroxychloroquine sitting in a warehouse in an undisclosed location.
