I was going to apologize for acting like an ass before. My attacks were pretty unwarranted. It actually bothered me all day.

I'm glad a lot of you agree with me. I was going to say simply that I personally didn't see any relief from that "tax cut," nor did I receive a check back when the dumb rebate happened. In fact, I know only one other person in real life that was actually affected by the cut. So statistics say one thing, and real experience says another.

 

Well Kimmie and J.A.W We must be pretty damn right on how we see things Biz is to busy talking trash to realise that Donkey is kicking elephant ass clear across the country all those folks must be something to laugh at too .

 

Grrrrr. (Sorry.) Unfortunately I'm in Colorado, and as of this moment (23:15) it looks like Marilyn Musgrave (R 46%) is going to beat Angie Paccione (D 43%). Of everything I voted on this is the one that mattered the most to me, and my side is losing. Had there not been a Libertarian candidate (Eric Eidsness L 11%), or if there had been a Constitutional Party candidate to draw down the Republican vote like the Libertarians did for the Democrats, Angie Paccione would have been a shoo-in. Of course, it's not over 'till it's over, and the Democrats do tend to pick up points in the 51% to 68% of precincts reporting range, but it's still annoying, even though it looks like the Democrats have now taken control of the House. (And means that the Biz_3's definitions of conservative and liberal no longer apply.)

 

I just called the cops to report that there was a Democrat jacking off in my front yard. The cops said they'd send an officer right over but wanted to know why I was so sure the guy was a democrat.
Easy I replied, if it was a republican he'd be fucking somebody
P.S. Last I checked the democrats had a six seat lead in the house.

Now then, let me take time here to congratulate all of the Democrats that ran great campaigns and won. The battles were tough this year.

I know we're still waiting on final #s for the Senate & who knows how long that could take. Some have said it could be December. None the less, I hope this is not only an opportunity for a shift in our government, but also for a little unity. this 50/50 stuff is wrong in my opinion. It wasn't right when the Republican's barely had control & won't be if the opposite is true. I'd have liked, this past 6 years, to see the President tell his House & Senate leadership to go back & get more Democratic support for all of the bills. I'm *hoping* that in the future, the bill submitted to the President are not still supported solely along party lines.

We'll see.

Was it a coincidence, or a celebration? The price of gas at the Chevron station across the street went up this morning (Nov 8) 5cents and gallon from 2.29 to
2.34. It always jumps up faster than it goes down when they are teasing us with "dropping" prices.

From 1940 to 1973 gasoline prices were always stable, with only a very slight increase over years, 17cents in 1942 to 25cents in 1973. This is about the time trading in petroleum futures became allowed if I am not misinformed, and of course people in the Nixon administration stated publicly that we should pay as much for gasoline as Europe does at that time $4.00 per gallon.
