I'm noticing a lot of posts here saying it is healthy and keep on keepin on (joe dirt quote, fantastic movie!), but the idea of masturbation has gone from one extreme to another. The first being, it will cause blindness, hairy palms, etc... to, it is ok to do it as much as you want, it feels good, it's healthy, no problems man!

However, it's a simple fact that masturbating in excess does stress the body out, creates an addictive pattern by releasing chemicals that the body continually will crave, etc... 2-3 times a week is alright, but anything more and you're really not doing your body a favor.

If you look at most religions and especially within Chinese medicine (I got back from studying in China a couple months ago and did an internship on Chinese medicine), the idea of masturbating frequently and ejaculating is a waste of vital energy, and you're hurting the flow of energy within your body by doing it in excess. That's why if you read anything within Tantra, you find the idea of having an "inward" orgasm, where you bring that orgasmic energy within instead of a reckless waste, which has become the acceptable method within society.

This is not bringing sex back to the dark ages, it's actually an evolution that in our culture (modern culture or "western culture") isn't known, and so the less evolved idea of sex and masturbation is what is accepted. This isn't wrong, it's just that we need to move on.

Been masturbating for more than 20 years almost daily...one of the simple pleasures of life. Never had any problems..will keep doing it.

 

Totally serious, I stroke off 7-10 times a day and I've never had any problems. When I have sex it takes me a little while to come, usually about a half hour but my gf likes it. Sometimes we fuck for a couple hours at a time and it's awesome.
