Yes. You're fighting a losing battle. You can report spam, and trolls, and anything else all you like. I wouldn't expect anything to be done about it.

 

Okay lemme get this straight, it's alright to post a story about sex between adults and kids as long as you say, 'if you don't like the genre don't read it' but it's not okay to say 'I was twelve when it happened' in the context of an accident?

 

Your best bet is just to never mention age. AT ALL. EVER. For any reason. Just say, "when I was young." The moment you put any character in your story who is under 14. For ANY reason. you can almost count on it being denied.

 

No that's not ok.

 

Under 14 is the general rule.

 

What I find the most disconcerting is what is considered a good story. I not only write but read quite a lot of the stories on here and leave critiques as well as praise on stories I read. I never subscribed to the troll theory before like some authors have talked about in the past but I have to say I'm beginning to believe it with the amount of nonsense I've read that has been considered "a good story."

 

I have seen stories go for a week with tons of positives and maybe 5 negatives. Then, almost literally, watch them receive over 50 negatives in less than an hour. If that is not trolls, then there are a lot of people all logging in and hating a story together.
It's also why I hesitate to post here any longer.

 

no. what happens is that the negative votes push the percentage down, which pushes the story off the top page, and then no one sees it. Unless you happen to be following that particular author, or go searching for the stories.

 

One thing we don't have on this discussion board unfortunately is any real discussion of the stories. I'd love to know what people do and don't like. I think I've fixed a good bit of the typos and grammar on my more recent stories. That was helpful info from a couple of people. But I'd be curious as to whether the stories make sense, are the characters interesting, is there too little (too much?) description of the sex scenes. Are they too repetitive? But I guess the ones who don't like them move on (or oddly keep coming back to vote negative) and the ones who read them are ok and then move on.

 

I usually engage in discussion with my fans on my story page or they will DM me. But this is a good page to discuss with fellow authors

I just got validated and i'm planning on writing some stories. I like all kinda stories and i am bi. how big is the animo for gay sex. i suppose not as great as for straight sex. is it worith it to make gay stories on here?

 

Not my thing, but I think you find a decent size audience. Also being bi you could probably have success with bi group type settings.

It's still in edit mode and not published yet so I scrubbed the references to younger ages and fixed the typos I saw. Need to slow down when I proofread!!

 

NCfan, they got me!! I had one reference that said, "She had been a constant in my life since we were 5 years old...." Geez! Anyway, fixed that so back to the end of the line....LOL

 

Can you add an alphabetical search for looking up a particular author. So we don't have to skip over hundreds of pages to find the one we want. I have found some good writers and want to check for NEW stories by them.

 

A Touch of Evil got published this morning. Maybe that will distract the haters from Redemption. Just so odd that it take 50000 people reading a story before the 30 who don't like it show up. I swear there are people who purposely vote down the top 5 stories every day.
