Depending on the funds during my high school years:
can't beat Passion Pop (at $3 a bottle it really is your friend)
or Lambrusco (it has a certain style when your 16)
Now that I'm older:
Vodka (Ursus), Whiskey (Teachers) or XXXX Gold (aka Queensland's version of horse piss)

 

I tried a new european lager last night called Grolsch. It's good, it's more of an ale than anything, it's got a little bite to it once you take a swig. It was good, though.

 

If we're on an extreme budget we'll go with Andres Extra Dry. I dont even know what it is but i think its a champagne. We have used to play beer pong but then we call it cham-pong. It sounds funnier too.

As for the Vodkas, how much is chopin? I have had mostly lower end vodkas. The tripple distilled one, never the regular smirnoff, absolut, grey goose, and Kettleone. Out of those i liked kettleone a lot better than any others. How does chopin compare to those, quality and price wise?

And yes, the good thing about being young is that your quite dumb. We take straight shots out of the 100 proof one. But usualy we'd mix it with orange juice.

 

The best is to get it from a distillery in Russia or Germany. They also make the vodka super strong. Imported micro-distilleries are always the way to go for liquors.. And micro-breweries for beer/ale, yum.

By the way, has anybody tried meade? I want to try it, but I hear I wouldn't like it from the beers I drink.

Anybody know?

 

Grolsch tastes like if you took a bottle of Heineken, opened it, set it down and ran like a mile, then poured the flat Heineken down your sweaty ass crack.

 

All Smirnoff is triple distilled. You're talking about Blue label, 100 proof.

I love ale - "spitfire" being my particular favourite, I also enjoy "Bishops Finger" from the same brewery.If I fanct a drop of the dark then "Hobgoblin" is a tasty, full bodied little number. I enjoy a nice cider every now and then; Magners Irish Cider is a tasty commercial brew (if a little sweet), but the best cider is rough cider (you know the stuff you buy from farms in the West Country) it's got bits in it and burns the back of your throat when you drink it!

A few years back I used to go drinking with some Bootneck buddies and we drank beers up until last orders; then it was how many JD & coke's could you get down your neck in the ten minutes between "last orders" and "time". We switched once from JD to TVR (tequilla, vodka, red bull) - it was vile and gave me a headache, must've been the red bull!

Ditto for all the ales you listed Igor, I would also add 'Old Thumper',
'Old Speckled Hen' and 'Summer Lightning', to the list.

I used to live in Somerset and I have very fond memories of 'farmyard' Scrumpy at 3s/6d a gallon............absolutely lethal, and, yes, you had to strain it through your teeth! :-D

 

Tonight I got a bottle of nice tequila and a bottle of nice orange liquer. I'll probably be enjoying a high-quality margarita tomorrow evening.

'Broadside' I've tried, and a good brew too, 'Bishop's tipple'?.......I think so....is that another Shepard Neame?
You must know how it is, you have so many good beers over the years that you forget!

I think also, that sometimes it's possible to miss out on a good beer simply because the inn didn't keep it right, and you didn't enjoy it!
.....some of the 'Badger's'...'Tanglefoot' I'm thinking, and I'm quite partial to a drop of 'Old Peculiar' - a different animal from the barrel, but not often seen down here.
Looking forward to yuletide for the Harvey's Christmas ale from Lewes...........stop me I could go on all night.

I've only ever had "Bisphops Tipple" in Devon; I don't recall drinking it anywhere else. The pub up the road from my parents had a "Real Ale Beer Festival" about a month ago. It was bloody fantastic!

Ah, the memories....I used to live about a stone's throw from a little country pub in West Sussex that had 2 beer festivals a year. One in August bank holiday......20 different beers over 3 days.....and another in very early spring called a 'Porter' festival.....dark, strong and wholesome beers around an open fire.....oh why did I leave?
