You drink this jug of anti-freeze, it poisons you, and you spend the day on the can. When you've finally passed all this poison and you're cleared out,
ok, enough details. He prepared and was given a colonoscopy, and he came out clean. You will need to do this every 5 years unless they find polyps
or worse yet, colon cancer (which is very treatable if they catch it fairly early)

My last one was less than a year ago. They had given me Eliquist to take, and that evil drug almost killed me with internal bleeding.
So after the leaks were fixed, and all was cleared, they said I should do another one in a year. I only said two words, and they were not nice words.
Well, I guess YOU isn't a bad word...

 

Thanks @conroe4 - I explained it to @Cherrypop in a PM. I’ve been getting a colonoscopy for the past 30 years, roughly. Sometimes I have polyps, other times I don’t. But as we all age, we all need to get checked. Yes, the day before prep feels like you’re being poisoned with anti-freeze, but if you prepare prior properly, it’s really easy. I usually quit eating solid foods at lunch the day before prep, just soups and jello. The day of just broth. About 3-4 hours before beginning the anti-freeze binge, I take a Dulcolax and by 10:30-11:00p I’m clean and done.

 

It looked like she was still confused. so I laid it out on the table. I also stop solid foods before the prep, and it helps. There used to be a series of pills you take <32 of them> spread out over a few hours. Now that wasn't bad at all. Take 8 pills, drink beer, drink more beer, 8 more pills, etc.
It was great and easy. But the problem was, people started dying from it and they stopped. They give me Golytely. I take the doculax too, and
don't forget the baby oil.

 

Originally I was given GoLytely, too. Over the years they’ve found that 238g of Miralax in 64oz of yellow Gatorade with a 10oz bottle of magnesium citrate after that works just as well. I add the Dulcolax to make things easier. It’s also important to use some really soft toilet paper.
