There are a couple things here. One is by this morning Trump and the treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans were just flooding the zone trying to set the narrative. And most pundits on the left were starting to freak out asking when is the DOJ going to learn.Sure the DOJ likes to do their talking in curt not in the court of public opinion. But Trump and his treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans are not their normal adversary and they need to fight back. They can't just sit back and wait. They need to tell the American people what is happening and why. And they feared Jack Smith and the DOJ would not go puboic.

Bu Special Counsel Jack Smith surprised them. Unsealed the indictment and held a press conference. And he did a really good job of explaining how badly Trump hurt our national security. But what he said that is most important of all is asking the American people to just read the indictment. Because its no Mueller report. Its simple, straightforward and easy to understand. And they've got one of the most soloid cases I've ever seen.

So by all means do not trust anyone else. Read the actual indictment.

Hey thanks @anon_de_plume. I had some trouble with that link myself. And I really want reading the indictment to be as simple as possible. One thing that the pundits and legal experts point out is Smith's indictment is written so all Americans ran read it understand it and know Trump is guilty.

I see the JYW(just you wait) squad has gone to Defcon5.

They can't seem to grasp that no one is worried about Joe Biden, or anyone else named Biden, being investigated. If Joe fucks up and violates the law, that's on him. He goes to court like any other citizen. There's no special privileges attached to the Presidency that gives some kind of immunity from the law.

Now Donald Trump, through no one's fault but his own, has fucked up and violated the law. Republicans are all astir because they can't find a crime to pin on Joe Biden. They think it's just not fair that their favorite President doesn't have the sense to understand that America's legal statutes apply to him and it doesn't matter who else violated the law. They want some kind of compensatory criminality in the Biden family, to give them leverage and keep Donald out of Allenwood Penitentiary.

It doesn't work that way. If and when Biden is convicted of a Federal crime, the most for which the GOP could hope is he and Trump might be in the same cellblock.

The way it does work, is this. Someone makes up a story about (insert name here). It could be Biden, or Hillary, or Kamala. It doesn't matter who the story is about, or who created it. Saying they got it from a whistle blower is popular these days. The story goes online in a blog. Someone else shares the blog in a post. That post gets shared. In a week or so, it gets reported on a far right website. Then it appears is a the US edition of a foreign newspaper. Now that it's been seen in a "real" news outlet, people can pretend it's real. It's great for grifting campaign donations. "Give me money and I'll fight the bad people I told you about."

The problem always arises when the story goes outside the group. Someone is going to say, "Okay, let's see the evidence. Who actually saw what was seen?"

Then it all evaporates. It doesn't matter if it's election fraud or Hunter's laptop or Comer's invisible whistle blower. Republicans simply cannot produce the goods when it counts. Nobody is worried about GOP threats because there's never anything behind them.

Since leaving office, what cases has he won? How about all those election cases he lost? Yeah, I know, Trump brought those cases, but I still get a kick from hearing that more than 60 cases were lost!

Ok, but really, since leaving office, what cases has he won? He got some wins from Cannon in Florida, but the 11th Circuit didn't seem to agree with her legal conclusions. So...

What cases has Trump won? And yes, I know you only count felony criminal cases, as you have said that he was not convicted when "Trump Organization" was convicted. But seriously, who ran the "Organization".

      Anyway...

But that's the rub. They've never applied to Trump before. He spent how many years cooking his books, but when convicted of those crimes, his devoted followers screams "but that was the Trump organization, not Trump himself", and so he is absolved of any wrong doing...

In all of Trump's public speeches, he makes sure to tell his followers that he's a victim, not because he's the target, but it's them, and they will be safe as long as Trump is standing in the middle to protect them.

So he's "groomed" his followers into protecting the one and only man who stands between them and the total annihilation of their way of life. Which is ironic, because those followers may be lucky to have a gold filling, while Donald has a gold commode.

(Reuters) - The 37-count indictment against Donald Trump unsealed on Friday accused the former president of risking some of the most closely guarded U.S. government secrets by storing classified documents in unsecured areas of his Florida resort.

The documents, according to the indictment, included details about U.S. nuclear weapons, spy satellites and the U.S. military. They were produced by the Pentagon and arms of the U.S. intelligence community, including the CIA, the National Security Agency, the National Reconnaissance Office and other agencies.

"The unauthorized disclosure of these classified documents could put at risk the national security of the United States, foreign relations, the safety of the United States military, and human sources and the continued viability of sensitive collection methods," the indictment said.

Here are some of the documents mentioned in the indictment:

    - A document marked TOP SECRET//[redacted]/[redacted]//ORCON/NOFORN that the indictment says concerned "nuclear capabilities of a foreign country."

ORCON means that the material in the document cannot be disseminated outside the U.S. government department that originated it without prior approval.

    - A document marked SECRET//FORMERLY RESTRICTED DATA that the indictment says concerned "nuclear weaponry of the United States."

According to a Department of Energy training guide, the Formally Restricted Data, or FRD, classification is used for materials downgraded from a higher classification that relate "primarily to the military utilization of atomic weapons."

"Formerly does not mean unclassified," says the guide.

Examples of FRD provided by the guide includes quantities of nuclear weapons in the U.S. stockpile, warhead yields and their locations.

    - A document marked TOP SECRET//SI//NOFORN//FISA that the indictment says concerned "military capabilities of a foreign country and the United States, with handwritten annotation in black marker."

NOFORN means the document cannot be shared with a foreign government. FISA refers to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act and means the material is from intercepted communications.

    - Six top-secret documents marked TK, standing for Talent Keyhole, a classification for materials related to U.S. spy satellites.

The indictment says these documents concerned the military capabilities of foreign countries.

So first of all, American hater, "years of screaming about Hillary Clinton" has nothing to do with Trump, does it? And the evidence has been pretty conclusive that she did in fact have, and knew she had, secret documents stored on an insecure server.
A server that by most accounts was hacked by foreign actors.
But we aren't going to rehash all that here, are we?
Because it is irrelevant to the issue at hand.

And the issue is defending Trump and his secret documents.
So Shooter will put it here simply enough that hopefully even you, in your deluded hate filled world, can understand.

If in fact Trump had documents he knew to be secret and he took steps to conceal that from the government, he should be convicted and given the appropriate punishment. He is not above the law.

Now. If it comes out that Trump has a proper legal defense of what he's been charged with, no matter your personal opinion of his defense, are you going to shut the fuck up about it and admit that you have a primal hate for Trump and all things conservative that makes it impossible for you to objectively judge anything not liberal?

No this is not dumb. Its Trump's pure and simple mental illness where he exists in a delusional reality where he is always the smartest, toughest, invincible, and infallible. Trump really does believe he can do anything he wants and no laws apply to him. And he also believes no one can tell hm what to do and when they try he usually does the opposite. And Trump is also a bit of hoarder who got a sense of power from all the documents he stoile. So of course he couldn't bring himself to just give them back.

Now that the contents of special counsel Jack Smith's 37-count indictment of Donald Trump have been unsealed, some close advisers to the former president are expressing dismay and shock at the details with one saying it all could have been avoided if the former president had only complied with government requests.

According to a report from the Washington Post, confidence in the Trump defense has waned after the evidence presented in the indictment became public knowledge.

The Post is reporting, "The indictment unsealed Friday rattled some of his advisers, who were not aware of the granular evidence obtained by the Justice Department, according to people familiar with the matter," before adding, "Two people said the evidence was more damning than they expected, and could have been avoided if Trump would have just listened to his lawyers and advisers."

Noting the departure of two key Trump lawyers within 24 hours of the indictment announcement, which has left the Trump legal team scrambling before the Tuesday Florida hearing, the Post reports the recovery process is being "driven by unforced errors and stubbornness."

According to one adviser to the former president, "The story of this will be we didn’t have to get to this place. None of this really had to happen. It was all so, so dumb.”

Republican pollster Whit Ayres admitted that the Smith case is profoundly more concerning than the indictment brought by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, telling the Post: "If you were trying to design a lawsuit that was easy for Republicans to dismiss as a partisan witch hunt, you would produce exactly the lawsuit that Alvin Bragg brought. Jack Smith is not a jokester.”

Trump’s former Defense Secretary says his indictment isn’t about politics: report

A former cabinet official who served in the Trump administration said Friday that the indictment against his former boss isn’t politically motivated, The Salt Lake Tribune reports.

Mark Esper, who served as Secretary of Defense under Trump, expressed his view about the 37-count indictment Trump is facing in connection with the handling of classified documents at Mar-a-Lago while speaking before business and political leaders in downtown Salt Lake City, the report said.

“I think some of the investigations have been politically tinged against him. This one, I don’t think so,” Esper said.

Esper said the allegations against Trump are “serious.”

“It was clear he had classified documents. I know what’s important about handling classified documents. This is serious. If you were a young soldier, sailor, or airman and had classified documents at your home, you’d be court-martialed. You could see jail time.”

Esper did not say whether he believes his former boss broke the law.

“There are two basic principles. Nobody is above the law, and everybody is innocent until proven guilty,” Esper said.

Trump appointed Esper Acting Secretary of Defense June 19, 2019, and the Senate confirmed him to the post July 23 of that year. Trump fired Esper Nov. 8, 2020 in a tweet.

Esper on Friday issued a call for unity among growing hyperpartisanship.

“The wings of the two parties are pushing the reasonable middle around. We get trapped in these partisan fights. We get trapped in the name-calling,” Esper said.

“We have an enormous debt of $32 trillion. The interest on that debt we pay every year is about $500 billion. The defense budget is $800 billion. We have to fix our debt problem, but we’ll never get to that until we solve our partisan differences.”

'A sign of desperation': Trump lawyers' pushback on indictment flattened by former impeachment counsel

    Tom Boggioni

According to the attorney who oversaw the drafting of the House Judiciary Committee's Jan. 6 investigation's final report, Donald Trump's attorneys who fanned out to cable networks to levy allegations of misconduct after their client was slammed with a 37-count federal indictment are tipping off they have no coherent defense strategy.

Writing for MSNBNC, attorney Michael Conway claimed their accusations will go nowhere and that they are a "sign of desperation."

While Trump attorney Alina Habba ran to Fox News to complain, "I'm embarrassed to be a lawyer at this moment. Honestly, I am ashamed. I'm ashamed to be a lawyer. I'm ashamed that this is the state of our country,” Tim Parlatore, who walked away in frustration from Trump's legal brain trust in May, appeared on MNSBC to complain that "misconduct committed by Jay Bratt [Chief of the Counterintelligence and Export Control Section, National Security Division at the DOJ] and his team in bringing the [documents] case to this level."

According to Conway, their pushback is not a sign of a winning strategy.

RELATED: 'Stuck with whatever he can get': Trump has a lawyer 'problem' as he faces off with Jack Smith

Writing that "The fact that federal courts approved the questioning of Trump’s lawyers seems an impenetrable defense to any claim that this action constituted prosecutorial misconduct," Conway added, "Once again, such a hypothetical misconduct claim falters because a federal magistrate judge authorized the search warrant."

Beyond that, he maintained that the attorneys are following their client's lead with the attacks when they should be taking the lead.

"On one hand, ranting on social media about alleged government misconduct is one of Trump’s favorite pastimes. On the other hand, ranting on social media about alleged government misconduct will not get any indictment tossed out by a federal court," he counseled before suggesting, "While a good offense may be the best defense, a flimsy offense sends a message of impending trouble."

    See, there's the thing.
The law is really clear that the unauthorized possession of material deemed "secret" violates the law.
It also violates the law to disclose such material, fail to safeguard it, and in any way violate it's security.
The law does not talk about volume. One document is one document too many, and after that it's all a violation of the law.
The law also does not talk about intent. It does talk about "gross negligence" and "Careless acts".
The bottom line is, possession of one secret document when one is not authorized violates the law. Not protecting a secret document or seeing it disclosed violates the law, and proving intent, indeed, proving willful negligence, isn't required.
    18 U.S. Code § 798 - Disclosure of classified information | U.S. Code | US Law | LII / Legal Information Institute (cornell.edu)
Now of course, the DOJ and courts do have some discretion in applying the law. A single sensitive document carried away in error because it was erroneously placed in a stack of papers, and promptly returned, is surely a different case than hundreds of top secret documents scurrilously taken and sold to foreign governments for big bucks.

But the question of discretion when despicables are consistently given a pass, while a deplorable is consistently held accountable leads inevitably to charges of politics and privilege granted based on party affiliation.

Assuming that President Trump is guilty of unlawfully taking and possessing secret documents, the despicables are going to have a tough time convincing deplorables that Joe Biden and even Pence are deserving of discretion in applying the law.

Not that despicables give a damn just now. The celebrations over Trump's indictment is just getting underway. They need time to celebrate.

Ah yes the old false equivalence ploy with a healthy dose of the poor poor pitiful me eternally wounded little snowflake victim thrown in. Which makes this all a lie.

There is no possible comparison between what President Biden, Pence, and Hillary Clinton did and what Trump did. Their possession of classified material was not deliberate. And as soon as they did find they were in possession of classified material they immediately informed the government returned them, and cooperated fully.

Trump deliberately stole classified material. Trump stored them in insecure locations all over Mar a Lago. Trump deliberately showed classified information to other people. And Trump not only refused to return the classified material he lied and hid them from the government.

So the old but what aboutism dog just won't hunt and is actually quite laughable.

When we look at all the indictments and ongoing investigation there are really only two possibilities. Either Trump is a career criminal or law enforcement all over the country is out to get an innocent man

Which puts them in the same situation they were in trying to claim the 2020 election was stolen. It begs a very simple question. How many Republicans in red states would have to be in on that conspiracy to make it work?

Both positions are just ridiculous. And anyone willing to push them are traitors to the United States of America and every great thing it has ever stood for. And I don't see how you can hate America more than that,

    1. shootersa
Well, for starters, you can call America a "shithole country" because you don't like the man in the oval office. Talk about hating all this country stands for ...............

Bitch all you want about Trump.

You can twirl and spew all day if that pleases you. You can lie and use every sleazy trick in the book to demonize the man.
Hate him with all the passion in your black heart. Demonize his supporters even.

But to claim that because that man was in office AMERICA is now a "third world banana republic shit hole country" exposes just how fake your patriotism is.

The constitution of this country, it's laws and it's institutions are so much greater than any single man or any single party. AMERICA will survive anything as long as it's citizens are willing to fight and die for what it stands for. And with exceptions (looks at Stumbler) that remains true. So fuck your AMERICA is a "third world banana republic shit hole country".

And for you to call America a "third world banana republic shit hole country" and then try to spin it to say that's showing your love of country exposes just what a deceitful ass you are.

You always tell the same lies about thid. One i am in no way calling the US a shit hole country now. It was Trump and his treasonous conservative America Hating Republicans that.

And no many of our institutions did not hold because like any tin horn dictator Trump corrupted them

And in fact it came down to just one man. If Pence had gone along with the coup we would be living in a Trump dictatorship right now

And you went along with all of that. And i don't see how you can hate the United States of America more than that.

People on Twitter Are Connecting a Section of Donald Trump’s Indictment to a Kid Rock Interview

The federal indictment against Donald Trump was made public on Friday (June 9), detailing charges surrounding the former president’s handling of government documents after leaving the White House.

Among the 44-page historical indictment listing the 37 felony counts against Trump was a section that caught the eye of multiple Twitter users. “In August or September 2021, at The Bedminster Club, Trump showed a representative of his political action committee who did not possess a security clearance a classified map related to a military operation,” the indictment reads, as Twitter users began speculating and connecting the statement to a 2022 interview Kid Rock had with conservative commentator Tucker Carlson.

“We’re looking at maps and s—, and I’m like, ‘Am I supposed to be in on this s—?’ Kid Rock — a longtime and outspoken supporter of Trump — told the Fox News anchor, who broke out into laughter. “I make dirty records sometimes. ‘What do you think we should do about North Korea?’ I’m like, ‘What? I don’t think I’m qualified to answer this.’”

It has not been confirmed that the section of the indictment is in reference to Kid Rock.

The indictment filed against Trump includes 31 counts of willful retention of classified documents, one count of conspiracy to obstruct justice, one count of withholding a document or record, one count of corruptly concealing a document or record, one count of concealing a document in a federal investigation, one count of scheme to conceal and one count of making false statements and representations.

The former president is summoned to appear in court for an arraignment on Tuesday (June 13).

Well, this is more stumbler bullshit.
First of all, the law is very clear. No "false equivalence or victim play" required. Unauthorized possession or disclosure of a single document that is classified secret violates the law.
The issue is prosecutorial discretion, which is to say, prosecutors have some discretion in electing to prosecute a case. And with top secret documents the issue is volume (how many documents) and intent, which is mentioned nowhere in the law as a standard for a violation. The law talks about "gross negligence" and "Careless acts" but not intent.

There are assuredly differences between the Pence and even Biden cases and Trump. Not so much Clinton. Not in terms of volume or intent.

And indeed, the Clinton case is prime for being held up as an example of prosecutorial discretion based not on reason, but on politics.
    So get ready for that.

Get ready for the blow back as the details of the Biden bribery and corruption case become ever more clear.

Despicables have been so focused on their "Get Trump no matter what" campaign that they forget they have a few skeletons in their own closet. Where perhaps deplorable leadership would overlook a little harmless bribery on the part of a despicable, the attitude is now "fuck em, two can play that game". While a Biden in a prison cell next to Trump would be no more fatal to despicables than a Trump in prison would be fatal to deplorables, it would change, at least for this election, how tolerant the two sides will be of eachothers misconduct.
And that ain't a bad thing, is it, at least not for us minions.

FOX NewsRon Johnson rips mainstream media's ongoing cover-up of Biden family deals: 'Complicit, compliant and corrupt'

Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., criticized liberal media outlets on Sunday for allegedly covering up the Biden family's shady business deals, particularly those involving President Biden and his son Hunter.

The outcry comes after the Justice Department indicted former President Donald Trump on 37 federal counts, including willful retention of national defense information, conspiracy to obstruct justice, and false statements, all related to his mishandling of classified documents

Fox News anchor Maria Bartiromo called the move "unprecedented" on Sunday, pointing out the charges are the first ever brought against a former U.S. president, especially considering the suspect is the sitting president's former – and potentially future – political opponent.

Meanwhile, Johnson said the ongoing federal probe into Hunter Biden has yielded a different outcome, still moving at a snail's pace after years. But he told Bartiromo he isn't surprised by the double standard.

"When you consider the exoneration of Hillary Clinton, when you consider the fraudulent and corrupt investigation on Russian collusion – which was a complete lie, and the FBI knew it was – you put all of these things together, and the FBI, the Department of Justice have interfered in the 2016 election, the 2020 election and here we go again."
"They're going to be interfering in the 2024 election," he said.

Johnson called the alleged corruption a "horrible mess" and argued "it's hard not to be suspicious" of the agency in its alleged attempt to stifle Trump's political ambitions.

"The investigation of Hunter Biden has been dragging on for years. They were able to wrap up this [Trump] investigation very rapidly. In addition, they announce it pretty much the same day when the details of the FBI confidential human sources is going to be revealed by members of Congress…" he continued.

Hours before news of Trump's indictment went public, the House Oversight Committee finally obtained access to a document reportedly indicating Biden and his son Hunter each received $5 million from a Burisma Holdings executive.

Johnson later added that, after reviewing documents related to the allegedly shady business practices, he believes the Biden family knew "exactly" what types of people they were dealing with.

Additionally, he called out the mainstream media as "complicit, compliant [and] corrupt" throughout the process, failing to shed light on the Biden family's alleged dealings while spotlighting concerns about Trump.
"They're not covering this thing honestly," he said, adding, "President Ford decided it was best for America not to pursue prosecution against President Nixon. President Trump pretty much made the same decision by deciding not to pursue any kind of prosecution of Hillary Clinton…"

Well Trump is literally a career criminal. But like most rich criminals, he's been able to stay above the law for so long. But justice usually catches up with them in the end.

But again we'll have to wait and see what comes of all these indictments. Trials conducted in the court of public opinion are just for show. Trump attempted to overturn an election without a single shred of evidence. Yet the base of the GOP was still willing to support Trump's attempted coup.

Of course trumptards view these indictments as a "witch hunt." What else do you expect from deplorables, who put loyalty to a toy dictator over loyalty to the country.

    Get used to it.
There's going to be one hell of a lot more.
    Despicables wanted this.

Nobody is worried. If Biden is revealed to be a serial killer, it will not help Trump one bit.

Biden will be called to answer for any crimes as the evidence merits. Threats of "just you wait" will not keep Trump from being held accountable for his crimes.

If the pattern holds true, it will be revealed that Trump has committed more crimes than presently known and claims against Biden will turn out to be bullshit.
