The Union are killin' it right now. Only a second year-team and they've been in and out of first place all season in a league that gets more competitive with each passing year.

I may not be the expert on the sport that you all are, but I personally think that Danny Mwanga will one day be the type of star Landon Donovan is where he gets picked up to play overseas and gets respect from people there. He's very talented, has great speed and athleticism, and he just seems like somebody who could be really good one day.

Oh.. and that one goal by a Portland Timbers player I believe.. last week.. where he dribbled the ball on his foot and then kicked it at a difficult angle for a goal. Pretty damn impressive.

 

I hate Barcelona. Not because they've taken to destroying us everytime we play but because their a bunch of terrorist supporters who boo minute silences for the Madrid train bombing victims and chant ETA at their matches against Real Madrid, even though ETA are Basque not Catalunyan.

The things you have mentioned there are the actions of some of the 'so called fans' not the players. You can't hate the team because of that.

We have idiot Liverpool fans, that show no respect to things, however i see them as the minority, and not real fans but glory hunters.

 

They said the same about Freddy Adu and look how that turned out. I remember I was really excited becaus United were on the verge of signing him but he decided to go to Benfica instead. Thank God he did.

 

I don't watch much football that does not involve either the PL, CL, FA or the Europa. I normally only watch my team and my team rivals. I of course watch England, even thou we feck it up every time

It's funny. I never watched or paid attention to soccer back then but I still knew how much of a big deal he was at that time.

You could say the same about a lot of players who have come over from Europe and elsewhere to the NBA too. The list of players who were stars in Europe but came over to the NBA and it didn't work out is a long one. You can add Rubio to that list, guaranteed, because for starters he's not even athletic enough to play for a middle school team in a competitive area.

The one thing US athletes have going for them (though Mwanga was born in an African country, forget which one) is that they're more than athletic enough that they have the physical tools to be superstars. It's all about the other things that need to be taught or instilled in a person for them that decides whether they're a Landon Donovan or a Freddy Adu instead.

City have rejected £35m bid although apparently Tevez is quite keen because it's nearer to his family and it's a well known fact that he doesn't like Manchester (twat) and can't seem to adapt to the English way of life. I'm sure it's because Manchester is a dump and not because he's been here for over five years and still can't speak a word of English.

The real question though is were have Corinthians got £35m from? Rumour has it that it would be funded by the Brazilian government using tax payers money. I'd be rather angry if I was a tax payer or rival team. Now Real want him aswell.

 

All this talk about football and I don't see a mention of the women playing today. The Women's World Cup is being played in Germany this week with some incredible action (yes, I'm partial to the American team). Germany, England, Sweden, Brazil, Australia. Japan, France and USA are fighting it out. Huge kudos to our home-town girl Abby Wambach along with Hope Solo last Sunday.

 

I mentioned our (USA's) HUGE comeback win over Brazil on this thread sunday or monday, but no one seemed to care. Someone was even surprised we were favored to beat France next! It's not well know that we are the top-ranked team in the world and have won two world cups and three gold medals.

One reason may be that england is already eliminated and canada didn't qualify.
