  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

FIFA must abide to any decission made by the CAS. Roma were banned for tapping up Philip Mexes so there is a similarity in the cases. However, I'm sure that age of Kakuta may be a mitigating factor in FIFA's defence of their actions.

    Very true.

He was just 8 1/2 when Lens signed him.....and 15 when Chelski nicked him.

I'd hardly call him a man of the world wise in business acumen!

    hang on a sec......

    Abramovich is worth how much?

23 billion at the last count.....

ok....the recession has cost him a few quid......

    but .....

    are you serious?

I think you've lost your mind.

This cut and paste is old news....

The news that Roman Abramovich (pictured) has sacked 15 members of his staff at Chelsea FC - and that manager Luiz Felipe Scolari has been told he must sell players if he wants to buy any new ones in the January transfer window – may come as a surprise to Justice Christopher Clarke. In a ruling made in London’s High Court last week, Clarke described Abramovich's involvement with Chelsea as a "hobby and a leisure interest ... It is not a business investment". Well, the financial crisis appears to have changed all that: Abramovich is reported to have lost as much as £12bn from his estimated £23bn fortune, mostly due to the collapse of the Russian stock market which has fallen by 70 per cent since May.
Judge Clarke’s comment accompanied a ruling, published in the Guardian today, in which he threw out a £2.5bn legal claim against Abramovich brought by a Russian oil company on the grounds that Abramovich was neither resident nor domiciled in Britain. Writes the Judge: "Abramovich is a billionaire. His overall wealth is said to be such that the £30m that he spent on [property in Knightsbridge] represents less than 0.5 per cent of his estimated net worth. He spends more time in Russia than anywhere else [57 days last year] and his business and personal interests are focused on Russia. Virtually all of the business associates with whom he is said to have dealt in these proceedings are Russian."

i feel like im replying to this thread to much and be seen as the crazy footie chick but i think you are not taking into account the combined wealth of both fifa and uefa so thats all the champions league the sponsers the tv rights the ticket sales that they get a cut of the leagues in all the countries they get a cut of and the games they get a cut of the agents fees and transfer fees they get a cut of they are rolling in it the top brass at each of those organisations are literally taking money baths

do you really think romans going to put all of his wealth on the line for this club which he doesnt seem that interested in anymore and havent won anything in a while? so he has about 11b according to that article .. nothing compared to what fifa and uefa are rolling in

if winning the champions league is worth about 300 million euros to the club that wins roughly what do you think uefa and fifa combined are pulling in ...? and they dont even need to be worth 11 billion there is no way on this earth that romans putting all his capital behind chelsea i mean if he did who would buy him the ridiculously stupid boats and houses he is acustomed to?

It doesnt even have to be about the money uefa and fifa hate the premiership they can make rules and limit the money spent on players and age of transfers and sanction every slip up chelsea make .. money does not always equal power in this case

if chelsea somehow do get this reduced you know fifa and uefa are going to be gunning for them and the ammount of rules that chelsea break theyll end up being expelled from the champions league

i am very much liking having this football debate with you :)

I'm inclined to agree with TCL on this one.
Roma is not only a billionaire but he is going to know some pretty influential people, probably within both uefa and fifa. You don't get to be as powerful as him and not gain some high weighting contacts.

People have made comments about him loosing interest within the team, but he attends nearly every match they play, this does not strike me as someone who has lost interest.

Money defintely does talk but so does power and right now he holds alot of both. I Hope Chelsea don't get the ban reduced, for obvious reasons, however i think it is very likely it will be.

They maybe generate that kind of money......but it's not actually theirs.

    So....the question remains.....

    Who pays them?

    Me too. :)

well why would the money they generate not technically be theres i know they lay out alot of cash to sponser grass roots football and things of that nature but thats got to be who pays the wages of the staff right?

i know he has alot of money but the high ranking contacts he has or may have will not go as far as the presidents of both companies who both hate the entire premiership roman included ....

he isnt really as into football as he was when he started out and he was winning now he is losing he seems not interested at all

    Ok....but my point is.......

Where do FIFA and UEFA get that money from?

Or....in other words, who set them up to be football's governing bodies?

First and foremost Roman is a business man, a very astute one. Chelsea is not only a football team to him, but an investment...so regardless of whether they are winning or losing, he will keep a very close eye on them and what is happening.

Yes maybe the presidents don't really like Roma or the prem, however they are only the top of the chain, as its board memebers and share holders that also have a say. I can not really see them wanting to play cat and mouse with Roma, as they could come out of it looking pretty silly and also alot lighter in the pocket.
