You are absolutely correct the true story comes from the story itself. I have watched many stories and hearing live as it took place and then I would watch each of the main stream news channels and everyone of them puts their own spin it to fit their narrative. None reported it fair and balanced. I am not a Democratic or Republican, I actually rarely vote because I believe most of them are worthless.

Hannity opens himself up to possible House subpoena with boast about private knowledge about Cohen payoffs

Fox News personality Sean Hannity volunteered that he is a witness in the hush money violation of federal law for which Michael Cohen is going to jail during an exclusive interview with President Donald Trump.

“I was kind of dragged in a little bit into the Michael Cohen issue,” Hannity acknowledged.

“I can tell you personally, he said to me at least a dozen times that he made the decision on the payments and he didn’t tell you,” Hannity argued. “He told me, personally.”

National security expert Bradley Moss said, “Hannity just made himself a witness in a congressional inquiry and the SDNY probe.”

Less than 30 minutes later, Hannity’s interview had indeed caught the attention of Congress.

Rep. David Cicilline (D-RI) said, “Sean Hannity is now volunteering himself as a witness.”

“I look forward to his testimony,” Cicilline added.

Cicilline is a member of the House Judiciary Committee.

Fox News’ Chris Wallace suggests a bombshell is hiding behind the Jared Kushner security clearance story

A host from the president’s favorite news network, Fox News, suggested that the New York Times bombshell scoop about Donald Trump ordering that Jared Kushner be granted a top-secret security clearance in spite of intelligence concerns might have some “there” there.

The Times reported on Thursday that White House Chief of Staff John Kelly and White House Counsel Don McGahn were so concerned by Trump ordering Kelly to grant Kushner the clearance that they both wrote memos about it.

Host Chris Wallace noted that “if the New York Times story is correct — and it has been corroborated by some other news organizations,” it would raise some serious questions for the Trump administration.

“The CIA and other organizations were so concerned about [Kushner] that they were not comfortable giving him a top-secret clearance and this went to the White House counsel, Don McGahn and the chief of staff, John Kelly and they were not comfortable giving him a security clearance,” the host said, adding that “the president ordered it, he has the right to do so.”

“But what was it that they were so concerned about,” Wallace mused, “that these people were doing something that they knew the president wasn’t going to like and refusing to give the top security clearance to Jared Kushner?”

Fox News Got Stormy Daniels Story Before Trump’s Election, Spiked It: Report
Jared talks to Murdoch ‘like, every day.’ Trump may have had Megyn Kelly’s debate question early—and ordered a hit on AT&T’s merger. A fast look at the new New Yorker bombshell.

In a far-reaching New Yorker exposé titled “The Making of the Fox News White House” published Monday, Jane Mayer dissects the often-incestuous relationship between the Trump White House and Fox News.

In it are numerous highly disturbing claims. Here, a quick look at several of them:

Fox News Sat on Story About Trump’s Payoff to Stormy Daniels
Mayer’s biggest scoop may just be one that Fox News passed on. “Diana Falzone, who often covered the entertainment industry, had obtained proof that Trump had engaged in a sexual relationship in 2006 with a pornographic film actress calling herself Stormy Daniels,” Mayer writes. She says Falzone had even confirmed it with Daniels through Gina Rodriguez, Daniel’s manager at the time and with Daniels’ former husband, Mike Moz, who she says “described multiple calls from Trump.” “Falzone had also amassed emails between Daniels’ attorney and Trump’s lawyer Michael Cohen, detailing a proposed cash settlement, accompanied by a nondisclosure agreement. Falzone had even seen the contract,” Mayer writes.

But Falzone’s story didn’t run. “It kept being passed off from one editor to the next.” After Falzone kept getting “one noncommittal answer after another from her editors,” the Fox news reporter finally heard from Ken LaCorte, who was then the head of FoxNews.com. Mayer quotes Falzone saying what LaCorte said to her. “Good reporting, kiddo. But Rupert [Murdoch] wants Donald Trump to win. So just let it go,” he reportedly said. But then Mayer concedes, “LaCorte denies telling Falzone this, but one of Falzone’s colleagues confirms having heard her account at the time.”

Roger Ailes Warned Murdoch Off Trump in His Final Days
Mayer writes that Rupert Murdoch has “cultivated heads of state in Australia and Great Britain” and she was told that “he’s always wanted to have a relationship with a president—he’s a businessman and he sees benefits of having a chief of state doing your bidding.” The Fox News chairman has met every U.S. president since Kennedy, but “until now a relationship has eluded him.” She says Ailes, during his final days at Fox, “apparently warned Murdoch of the perils. According to Gabriel Sherman, a biographer of Ailes who has written about Fox for New York magazine and Vanity Fair, Ailes told Murdoch, ‘Trump gets great ratings, but if you’re not careful he’s going to end up totally controlling Fox News.’”

Murdoch Is Actually Closer to Jared Kushner
One of the more surprising liaisons Mayer pulls the curtain back on is that between Trump’s son-in-law and Rupert Murdoch, now the executive co-chairman of Fox Corp. Outlining the importance of Murdoch’s support for Trump for his base, she dishes that he might be even closer to Kushner. “Well-informed sources say that Kushner, an increasingly valued White House adviser, has worked hard to win over Murdoch, showing him respect and asking him for advice,” Mayer writes. “Kushner has regularly assured Murdoch that the White House is a smooth-running operation, despite many reports suggesting that it is chaotic.” She goes on to say that Kushner enjoys “an almost filial status” with Murdoch and and numerous sources told her that the two communicate frequently. “Like, every day.”

Trump Pressured Gary Cohn to Quash AT&T-Time Warner Deal
During her investigation, Mayer found ample evidence that in the summer of 2017, when Gary Cohn was director of the National Economic Council, the president ordered him to “pressure the Justice Department to intervene” on AT&T’s proposed acquisition of Time Warner because of his disdain for CNN. “According to a well-informed source, Trump called Cohn into the Oval Office along with John Kelly, who had just become the chief of staff, and said in exasperation to Kelly, ‘I’ve been telling Cohn to get this lawsuit filed and nothing’s happened! I’ve mentioned it fifty times. And nothing’s happened. I want to make sure it’s filed. I want that deal blocked!’” the president reportedly said.

She then says that Cohn, a former president of Goldman Sachs, “evidently understood that it would be highly improper for a president to use the Justice Department to undermine two of the most powerful companies in the country as punishment for unfavorable news coverage, and as a reward for a competing news organization that boosted him.” According to Mayer’s source, Cohn walked out of the meeting and told Kelly, “Don’t you fucking dare call the Justice Department. We are not going to do business that way.”

Trump May Have Been Tipped Off About Megyn Kelly’s Debate Questions
Mayer seems certain that the relationship between Fox News biggies and Trump ahead of the 2016 election crossed ethical boundaries. She recounts the Fox News debate Megyn Kelly moderated. “Kelly kept pressing Trump: You once told a contestant on Celebrity Apprentice it would be a pretty picture to see her on her knees. Does that sound to you like the temperament of a man we should elect president?”—to which Trump responded with his infamous Rosie O’Donnell retort and follow-up “blood coming out of her wherever” Kelly slam. Mayer says that showdown helped “shape Trump’s image as shamelessly unsinkable. It also kicked off a feud between Trump and Fox, in which Trump briefly boycotted the channel, hurting its ratings and forcing Ailes to grovel.” She points out how Trump recently bragged that he’d won the debate “despite being a novice, and despite the ‘crazy Megyn Kelly question.’”

However, she suggests that Fox News “may have given Trump a little help. A pair of Fox insiders and a source close to Trump told her they believe Ailes informed the Trump campaign about Kelly’s question ahead of time. Two of those sources say they know of the tipoff from a purported eyewitness. In addition, a former Trump campaign aide says that a Fox contact gave him advance notice of a different debate question, which asked the candidates whether they would support the Republican nominee, regardless of who won.” Mayer concedes that with Ailes dead and Fox’s persistent denials, her hunch is hard to prove.

Ailes Had a Hit List for Women Who Complained About Sexual Harassment
Mayer’s inside scoops on Fox run the gamut from political persuasion to downright perversion. She says Ailes and a small group “kept a close eye on internal talent.” A former Fox executive told her, “We had a file on pretty much everyone,” adding that Ailes talked about “putting hits” in the media on anyone who “got out of line.” If a woman complained about being sexually harassed, he said, Shine or other supervisors intimidated her into silence, reduced her air time, or discontinued her contract. The former executive recalls, “Shine would talk to the woman with a velvet glove, saying, ‘Don’t worry about it’—and, if that didn’t work, he’d warn her it would ruin her career.”

‘This Is Going to Outrage the Audience!’
Former Fox & Friends host Alisyn Camerota told Mayer that Fox does have solid news reporters, but that she left because she “became so troubled by the lack of standards on Fox & Friends that she wrote a thinly veiled novel, Amanda Wakes Up, about the blurring of journalistic lines at a cable morning show.” Camerota said Fox & Friends was “a fun show, but it was not a news show. It regularly broke the rules of journalism. It was basically Roger’s id on TV.” She went on to say that, “He’d wake up in the morning with some bee in his bonnet, spout it off to Bill Shine, and Shine would tell us to put it on TV.” Camerota also claimed that producers would “cull far-right, crackpot websites for content. Never did I hear anyone worry about getting a second source. The single phrase I heard over and over was ‘This is going to outrage the audience!’ You inflame the viewers so that no one will turn away. Those were the standards.”

Fox News begs Democrats to reconsider rejected debate and promises ‘the ultimate journalistic integrity’

In a statement on Wednesday, Fox News pleaded with the Democratic National Committee (DNC) to reconsider an offer for presidential candidates to debate on the conservative network.

Democrats announced on Wednesday that the party was rejecting the idea of a primary debate on Fox News because of the network’s troubling relationship with President Donald Trump. In one case, Trump was reportedly advised of debate questions in advance.

Fox News Senior Vice President Bill Sammon responded by promising “the ultimate journalistic integrity.”

“We hope the DNC will reconsider its decision to bar *Chris Wallace, Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, all of whom embody journalistic integrity and professionalism, from moderating a Democratic presidential debate,” Sammon said. “They’re the best debate team in the business and they offer candidates an important opportunity to make their case to the largest TV news audience in America, which includes many persuadable voters.”

Trump takes friendly fire from his favorite media outlets

Two of Trump's most reliable media allies — Fox Business host Lou Dobbs and Matt Drudge — called him out last night over the direction of his administration.

Driving the news: Trump’s favorite TV host, Lou Dobbs, fired a warning shot at the president last evening after Trump hosted CEOs and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce at the White House.

Trump can usually expect adoring coverage from Dobbs.

Dobbs not only whacked Trump for cozying up to the business establishment, but urged viewers to call the White House to say how far the president has run off track.

"I'd like to share a few thoughts," Dobbs said, about "what could very likely be a catastrophe for the working men and women, small business and entrepreneurs, our middle class, the American family."

Between the lines: Some prominent immigration restrictionists who support Trump, including Dobbs, have grown increasingly worried that he might flip from wanting to cut legal immigration to advocating an increase in legal immigration.

Business leaders have been cheering Trump on, and Jared and Ivanka support business-friendly immigration reform.

A prominent immigration restrictionist who is close to the White House told Axios around the time of Trump’s State of the Union address that he worried that Trump was unreliable when it came to his earlier promises to restrict legal immigration.

Trump went off-script during his State of the Union address when he said he wanted legal immigrants to come into America in the largest numbers ever.

Matt Drudge used this banner over a WashPost story reporting that Trump's administration "has been on a pronounced losing streak over the past week":

"Trump is losing ground on top priorities to curb illegal immigration, cut the trade deficit and blunt North Korea’s nuclear threat — setbacks that complicate his planned reelection message as a can-do president who is making historic progress."

Fox News’ Laura Ingraham posted photo of a Trump supporter wearing Nazi symbols

Fox News’ Laura Ingraham posted a photo of a man in a “Deplorables” shirt that features the Nazi “Iron Cross” and “Das German” skull in an unearthed tweet from 2017.

Ingraham’s post appears to have been taken at a book signing event at a Barnes & Noble store in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on October 13, 2017.

“Thanks, Myrtle Beach!” the Fox News host wrote in the post, which was still online as of press time.

The photo features a man wearing a shirt that reads “Deplorables” — a reference to Hillary Clinton’s infamous comment about Trump supporters being a “basket of deplorables” — and “Made in the USA.”

Between the otherwise-innocuous slogans, however, are an Iron Cross and a skull wearing a spiked helmet — both lesser-known Nazi symbols.

As the Anti-Defamation League explains, the Iron Cross was once used as a Nazi military medal and often had a swastika superimposed on top of it. After World War II, neo-Nazis and white supremacists began using it without the swastika — though it remains an identifying symbol to hate groups and those in the know.

Lesser-known even than the Iron Cross is the skull seen on the man’s “Deplorables” shirt.

The spiked helmet, known as the Pickelhaube, was a staple of German military headgear that appears to have made its way into Nazi symbolism — likely via a symbiosis of the helmet and the Nazi skull and crossbones symbol called the Totenkopf (German for “death’s head”).

Raw Story has reached out to Fox News and Ingraham for comment about the post.

Trump’s Fox News defenders are getting desperate — and they are failing horribly

Last week’s House Oversight Committee hearing, in which Michael Cohen, Donald Trump’s former personal attorney, testified about Trump’s alleged crimes and misdeeds for hours, is proving to be quite a fruitful start for the newly elected Democratic majority in the House of Representatives. Using that testimony, as well as information gathered by journalists and other investigators, as a starting point, House Democrats sent out more than 80 letters on Monday to various figures in Trump’s orbit, demanding documents and threatening subpoenas if they weren’t turned over.

On Wednesday, Cohen showed up for a closed-door meeting with the House Intelligence Committee with three suitcases of what was presumably evidence. Committee chair Adam Schiff, D-Calif., confirmed that Cohen brought documents for review and told reporters that Cohen “was fully cooperative with the committee” during the eight-hour meeting.

Things are getting tougher for Trump’s propaganda troops, who primarily work through Fox News but are also fanned out as talking heads through the rest of the media. The Trumpian defense strategy, flowing from the president’s own eagerness to characterize any form of investigation as “presidential harassment,” has been to characterize the whole thing as a baseless fishing expedition.

Concern troll Howard Kurtz, writing at Fox News, warns that Democrats are “defining themselves as the party of investigation” and claims this is a “tactical error” that “that plays into President Trump’s hands.”

Um, what? If Trump is so thrilled by all this, why did he spend two hours raving incoherently in a puddle of flop sweat d uring his CPAC appearance on Saturday. He did not seem possessed of the calm confidence of a man who has got this.

On Wednesday morning, Fox News host Steve Doocy claimed, “It’s not like the Democrats have any evidence that the president broke any laws,” a baffling statement that requires ignoring the testimony and documents provided by Cohen, the numerous convictions and guilty pleas of people in Trump’s orbit, the illegal Stormy Daniels payoff, and substantial reporting from the Washington Post and the New York Times showing Trump’s likely involvement in a multitude of financial crimes.

On Wednesday evening, Sean Hannity went all out in painting Trump as a victim of overreach, calling the investigations “a perjury trap” and warning Democrats that “they are now headed down a dangerous path.” Yeah, but dangerous for whom?

Democrats should not be fooled by Fox News’ recently discovered concern for the party’s political future. In reality, the only reason these employees for Trump’s favorite propaganda network are trotting this line out is because they are afraid what these investigations will do to Trump and the Republicans, not the ways they might hypothetically damage Democrats.

Conservative pundits desperately want the public to see these investigations as a form of payback for the years of phony investigations Republicans ran during Barack Obama’s administration, such as holding 33 hearings into the “Benghazi” conspiracy theory that was so convoluted even its own adherents couldn’t really understand it. It’s true that by abusing its oversight powers in that way, the Republican congressional majority did a good job of fixing the idea in the public’s mind that investigations can be little more than worthless partisan theatrics. Trump’s followers will be happy to imagine that this is just Democrats doing to Trump what Republicans did to Obama — even if that means tacitly admitting that “Benghazi” was never a real investigation.

But the big difference between the Benghazi investigation and the various investigations into Trump’s epic corruption is simple: The latter are based in reality.

Conservative pundits are betting that won’t really matter, and they aren’t necessarily wrong. Over the years, they’ve been able to kick up enough smoke and dust to confuse the basic distinction between reality and conspiracy theories. Primarily, however, their success have come in leading people to believe in not-real things, such as the WMDs in Iraq or unnamed “scandals” lurking in Hillary Clinton’s emails.

Hiding something that is really real, such as Trump’s likely criminality, might prove a more difficult task than making up conspiracy theories and feeding them to the mainstream media.

A Quinnipiac University poll released Tuesday shows this. Nearly two-thirds of Americans, or 64 percent, believe that Trump committed crimes before becoming president. Somewhat fewer, 45 percent, believe he continued to do as president.

On one hand, those numbers could be read as depressingly low, since there are a number of well-documented Trump actions that are probably criminal and could have resulted in arrest if he hadn’t been president. Obstructing justice, witness tampering and tax fraud are all well-documented. Trump was also implicated as a co-conspirator by Cohen in a conspiracy to commit campaign finance fraud with the Stormy Daniels payoff. Ideally, 100 percent of Americans should believe Trump to be a criminal, as that’s clearly the smartest bet based on the publicly available evidence.

Still, considering the enormous propaganda machine geared toward confusing the issue, coupled with mainstream media’s understandable wariness about labeling Trump a criminal without a conviction, these numbers are good. They suggest that the truth is breaking through the wall of obfuscation thrown up by right-wing propagandists, who are the only or primary source of “news” in much of the country.

And all this is even before the Democrats have started to collect the evidence from those 80-plus document requests, and before they reveal the findings of their closed-door sessions with Cohen. Of course, it’s also before any version of the Mueller report has come out. There’s every reason to believe that much more information will be coming. And Trump’s efforts to block the flow of information only serve to make him look guiltier, especially since he’s breaking with the expectation of transparency with the American people, for whom he supposedly works.

As that information flow increases, the tone of desperation on Fox News and in Trump’s Twitter feed, which is already shrill, will probably reach heights that Mariah Carey can’t sing. But if the recent past is prelude, this kind of clawing denialism isn’t going to work. Trump has been screaming “witch hunt” for two years now, and fewer people believe it all the time. What happens when Democrats produce his cauldron and his eye of newt?
