I too was wondering that TCL, but for different reasons.

Denial only breeds problems. He DID exist, it just didn't work out. Why not leave it at that, rather than being so extreme and final about it?

I will say, though, I am embarrassed for both of you at this point. I am also embarrassed for myself as I don't know why I keep reading it. This is something I have to give some serious thought to. I will admit that I am addicted to "Coronation Street" as are several of my male friends, we just keep it a secret.

Maybe if you guys try to think about how embarrassed you should feel you can get passed this stuff.

I would love to keep discussing the original topic as it affected my life at one time. Maybe we can try.

I'm just tired, of the fact that for one, every single topic I start(when they were two very good topics) is getting derailed, by bullshit, and completely ruined. or the fact that I can't post, without somebody having something to say, and never in a polite fashion. it's always something, it's always somebody. if it isn't one person, it's another, or another, or another, or another! I came to this place, when I did, cus I was bored, and stayed cus it was a safe haven from all of the bullshit in real life, and then those same people, started coming here, and big shocker, they started shit with me. and now this forum is exactly like being in highschool, where appearance is everything, and you can't have a mature, adult conversation, without having to deal with immature BS, not to mention, the attention whores, the people who never shut the fuck up about themselves or their lives, the "experts", etc etc etc etc!

Your mom was precisely correct. The Free Love Movement was not so much about just having sex with anyone and everyone as it was about shaking off the artificial restrictions and taboos of sex, especially as they applied to woman who were primarily bound by the limitations placed on them by long dead, impotent white males.

What actually came out of it was the inescapable conclusion that there is no such thing as free love and it was much more accurately redefined as the sexual revolution.

Here's the derailment. Free sex is one thing, while free love is an entirely different matter. That is the way it worked or more accurately not worked during these "free love" experiments. Just having sex worked fine until love became involved and then all the ramifications, jealousy, pain and even killings surfaced just like before and after. It got especially ugly just like it usually does, when one person loved someone that did not love them back. Conversely, it was just as beautiful as it always is when two people would fall in love and that in most cases ended the other sexual partners creating a mutually desired monogamous relationship.

It should be noted, however, that there are people who are very much in love but share what for a better term is a swingers life style where they do have multiple sexual partners in a shared aspect of their lifestyle. This obviously is the exception and not the rule but demonstrates that when it comes to human sex and sexual relations the scope is too broad to ever try to classify.

You've hit a vital point here Perv. There is a huge difference between what would better be described as "free sex" and "free love." In truth humans are just as capable of having unemotional sex as insects are. The problem is what the motivation is. If its actually to enjoy sex as an adult form of play its a wonderful thing. However, that seems to me to be the exception rather than the rule. To me the true motivations all to often are something other than sex, i.e. a form of mental illness or some kind of hidden emotional agenda.

Another vital observation. In truth the Jewish/Christian religions effectively stole sex, first to fill the pews and collection plates and then as time went on perverted by the influence of sexually inadequate males who sought to repress all sexual expression out of their own insecurities. This history is not well known but is available for anyone who wants to look. But the most important thing is to see how especially the Puritan view of sex has repressed and perverted this nation and continues to plague us to this day, as is clearly evidenced by this thread.

Pardon me, and this is not directed at you, but I can only laugh at this entire argument because its the same one offered in every generation going clear back to my grandmother and jazz at the beginning of the 1900's and Roaring 20's. What is especially amusing to me is to see the exact same arguments offered against Hip Hop that were given for wanting to ban Rock and Roll Music which was seen as promoting promiscuity.

Here's a great piece of irony however that was pointed out by none other than one of the originators of Rock and Roll, Chuck Berry, who pointed out that primarily the white majority attacked the beat of rock and roll, the lyrics, and the performers as promoting sex but never got around to attacking the title itself; Rock and Roll, which at the time the music form Rock and Roll was invented was actually a slang term for having sex. Not once did any preacher, politician or civic group make that connection.

This is a double edged sword when it comes to the sexual differences between males and females. First the difference between males being more promiscous than females has been biologically and genetically identified. (It should be noted however that even though females are much more selective, they are by no means as strictkly mognomanous as once thought.

Second, most of the religious and social abominations against sex as I said earlier stem from males who have dominated throughout history and yet at the same time have deeply seated inner fears and resenstments towards females ability to have sex. Females can have sex at any age, at any time, and even if they want to or not. Males on the other hand cannot and often cannot perform sex to any level of control.

Thats why all the negative conitations and rules are directed at females.

I really like what you are saying here. While I have already expressed the misconceptioln of "free love" I also whole heartedly endorse the idea that the more sex we were having as a society and the more freely we practiced sex and accepted it the healthier and happier our society would be.

Here we live in a society where sex remains vielified and repressed when physilogically and psychologically humans are biologically set up to fuck like Porn stars. Literally the more we fuck the healthier and happier we wil be the the longer we will live.

I can only compliment and concure with what you are saying here. It was ridiculous and a great waste of time to try and wade through what should have been a really good thread for a porn forum just to find the very few posts that actually dealt with the subject instead of the same old bullshit betwen a handful of people who can't seem to control themselves.

And I had the same observation you did. Free love was all well and good until some male actually fell in love with a female and then all bets were off and the fight was on.

Now I think this is something males need to look at in themselves because I do think it is a cultural thing and not something that is inherent. I think because males have always gained most of what they want through an uneven power distribution they have come to adhere to the idea of possession rather than mutual respect and sharing. That's one of the reasons so many females are still beaten and killed in relationships with males.

except, let me clarify what I was saying about hip-hop, well actually not really hip-hop, so much as gangster rap. What I was saying, is that it's promoting the same closed mindedness about many things, that religion did. But the difference, is that gangster rap, is closed minded to EVERYBODY AND EVERYTHING that isn't either the person who is rapping, or his boys, or his 'hood. And a huge example of that, is the way gangster rap is closed minded about sex. It promotes women as objects, and that if they choose who they sleep with it's cool, so long as that includes the person rapping, and so long as the chick is his little sex slave, and takes whatever he gives her, even if he sucks in bed. This, like you said with religion and things like that, is because it is male-driven, and the majority of these people are insecure, attention craving, immature individuals, who haven't matured past high school level, if even. Hell, you know most of these dudes are only where they are cus they stepped on other people.

And like I said before, I listen to hip hop, and artists who actually have a message, who preach against the bullshit they grew up with.

 

Now, what's the bet that Stumbler wrote all this during the whole time the argument was raging, all the way from page two... and he's only just finished it!
