What are your thoughts on FWBs?

 

Doesn't work. One of you will develop real feelings.

 

They very rarely work but both people have to have the right 'programming' for it to even have a chance. Even then one or both may develop deeper feelings.

I've had a friend and we've had benefits for twelve+ years on and off. But there are certain rules that are NEVER broken. No benefits if one of us is in a relationship. No hiding what our relationship is/was from our respective significant others (it ALWAYS comes out and if you hide it hurt feelings follow). Feelings are to be discussed openly so nothing festers. Of course that's what worked with us and there were times when we were 'exclusive' with each other for fair amounts of time.

Unfortunately she prefers pussy a bit more than cock otherwise she and I would probably be married by now. LOL.

Of course, if you're talking about the movie, I enjoyed it.

 

I personally have no problem with the concept, and have had that sort of relationship with some guys in the past. But you have to appreciate the fact that relationships evolve, and at some point, someone's feelings might get hurt. It might result in the end of the relationship, and the end of the friendship, and a lot of hurt. These things happen, and it's all a question of how much you and your friend are willing to risk.

I tend to put it in the same category as former lovers. I've had guys in my life like that, where the relationship is over and we're still friends...and every so often, on a whim, we might have a go at it for auld lang syne. No harm, as long as you both have your eyes open and know where you stand.

 

I've enjoyed friends with benefits. I think its OK if you're not committed to somebody who believes in being your only partner. Take care of home first. If you're single...enjoy away!

 

I am 100% in favor of it. I have had such arrangements on 3 occasions and we are all still good friends.

I think I'm willing to try this before getting into a relationship. The feelings part can be negoiated, & you have to know what you're getting into. I mean it sounds awesome to have a friend of the opposite sex & be able to use your sexual energy with their help.

 

One rule I had was to set a time limit for the relationship. With the girl I did this with. I said, lets be FWB for a month, just to see how it goes, after that time we would discuss and reconsider. After that month we broke it off, it really wasn't all that great in the end. I probably won't be in that type of relationship again. I'm just not wired that way.

 

I have only had 1 FWB that resulted in the other side wanting it to evolve into a relationship. At that point I just slowly removed myself from the equation.
I seem to have more problems while being with couples, where either the male or female starts to fall in love with me. I make it very clear from day 1 that all I am after is a way to drain my balls, and hopefully get them off too.
