  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

    StanleyOG.

Here is a story "Gas Smugglers Dodge the Law in Brazil and Venezuela"

Web story explains that the price of Gasoline in Brazil is $5.00 a gallon, and across the border in Venezuela it it .17 cents.. And then it takes your mind away and tells about how smuggling of gas works, and why it is common at this particular location in Brazil....

No one was named, and the news released is traced back to a DOT release. No place in the article does it explain that Brazil, has gone completely off the use of Gas, and now uses ethonol made from sugar cane.. Brazil's price of Gasoline is high to discourage the use of gasoline and push the use of Ethonol.. This did not come up in the article

I always say ecucate yourselves, and the media doesn't have that advantage of the short sound, or video byte.. And yes it happens on the internet too.... But media has to work harder for we can read the whole message.. BUT DO WE, only once in a while..

Please help me dig out the truths:

The New York Times puts out an email letter every week on The car. I can't remember the title. But by looking at it carefully it becomes apparent that it is doing nothing but repeating Government news releases.. Matter of fact it even says that the site is a collection of releases.. But it says it in very small type..

SPOT THOSE DOUBLE SPEAK NEWS RELEASES.. Post them here, Anything not just oil.... Medicine,, enviroment... and yes Iraq.

I think I'll love this thread TR and already have my first doublespeak entry.

Watch for the Exxon/Mobile commercials. They don't really say anything as far as advertising an idea or product. Their only real purpose is public relations. But if you look past the garbled message you can probably spot their political agenda. Right now it's just trying to say hey we're the good guys. Same thing with BP's commercials which had the tag line Beyond Petroleum when acually BP is British Petroleum.

The key is the kind of commercials Mobile Oil started running in the early '70's. "A nation that runs on energy can't afford to run short." The political agenda was getting the Alaskain Pipeline approved. And when congress shot it down, guess what all of a sudden there was an "energy crisis."

BP and Exxon have run some alternate fuel ads, saying they are doing advance research on it.. The research they have been doing is to buy stock, and the surge of stock buying has shot the price of ethonol up.. Exxon, has forbid their stations from selling e85, and as I saw a couple of months ago,, as I spun up through the Mid west and Michigan.. Oil companys are campainning very strongly against Ethonol..

I just sent in an article on the mis-information on bio fuel.. I am going to rewrite it and see if i can post it here.

Here’s one that was new to me. All I’ve heard from the Bush administration is that Iran is part of the axis or evil, sponsors terrorism, wants nuclear weapons to destroy Israel, and is an enemy to the United States and has been for the past 23 years.
Now, I find out that Iran does not trust Bush or the US because they were our allies when we invaded Afghanistan.
According to the Christian Science Monitor The Iranians often cite Afghanistan in 2001, when Iran helped the US defeat the Taliban and push out Al Qaeda with extensive intelligence and diplomatic aid, only to be labeled part of the "axis of evil" weeks later.
"It's a game. We think the US wants to use Iranian power to solve their problem in Iraq before the presidential election in 2008," says Mr. Mohebian. "After victory ... then it will be back to the old 'axis of evil.' "

While gas and oil prices as well as concerns about global warming would indicate we in the USA should be looking at higher mileage more economical cars the odds and today's news are indicating the opposite of fuel economy. Instead what appeared to be to be a heavily slanted report on CNN cited insurance industry reports about low safety ratings for the new gas efficient small cars. The report had statements such as "Your best friend in an accident is the weight of your car," not safety devices like airbags. And "death rates are much higher in mini-car accidents." The report barely mentions these test results were achieved when the smaller cars were hit with the weight equivalent of SUV's and bigger luxury cars.
